Cheap mountain bikes vs expensive mountain bikes. Have you ever wondered why expensive bikes cost as much as they do? Are they that much better than cheap mountain bikes? In this video we try to answer those question while I enjoy riding in the amazing landscape of Sedona AZ.

These days, mostly money. You may think I’m being a smart ass but I’m being serious. I had two Pivot Switchblades, one 7500 and one 3500. I could ride the cheaper one in all the same trails and was just as fast fast. Lesson learned, for me at least,

I agree. There is definitely a point of diminishing returns on bikes. Today, $3500 will buy an amazing bike.

One of the best comparisons I have seen. My synopsis of the video, either bike is capable of riding the same trails, the more expensive one just does it a little better, but you wouldn't be disappointed with the 6k cheaper bike.

Great comparison. But I mainly wanted to say I love the fact that I’m not the only one to mumble and comment while I’m riding. You did a good job of mixing the audio so it wasn’t overbearing, but I appreciated being able to pick up on it.

Thanks! I self-talk a lot, lol. Sometimes its not suitable for families. 😃I kinda envy those dead silent riders. I was hoping the audio mix would go well on this one. It's a little different than my other videos. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

@@AdrenalineIsLife I’ve definitely been trying to reduce the self-talk, grunting, groaning, and exhaling that I tend to do on video. Part of it is being old, and part of it is just an old habit of making silly/dramatic noises for the smallest reason. I can relate to the non-family-friendly commentary, too 😆.

Considering the Polygon FAQ: "Can I use it for a technical drop? Yes you can for a recommended height up to 1 meter" line I'd kind of worry about the longevity of the bike. A 1 meter drop is certainly more than I'd ride, but not so much more that I'd be happy with that as a suggested ceiling. I don't recall seeing that kind of limitation suggested in the FAQ of other bikes.
@AdrenalineIsLife
@AdrenalineIsLife 3 месяца назад
That's not correct. They label the T6 "Class 5". Class 5 is 2 meters. Polygon's classifications are at the link below. www.polygonbikes.com/classification-for-bicycles-usage-2/

Great video. I live in europe and was looking for a Bike good enough to ride in Bike park. For me The best Hardtail is Trek Procaliber 6 Red 😎 because it has everything good look, geometry, and Specs. All of it for just 1000 quid it's a Bargain 🥳. Site 99spokes have option to compare it to other bikes like Polygon, Marin, Cannondale, Dartmoor. None of these bikes come near in terms of Specs for this amount of money.

Dude I would rather have the t6 maybe even the t7 so long as I can get the front to be at least 150 mm maybe 170 and the rear that would be have to be minimum 150 or at least match with 170 so for me front and rear has to match why I have a bad back and well both wrists have been shattered 4x's And the carbon fiber one they can keep it

With brands like polygon and YT if you think they are not top tier stuff your just coping because you spent 6,000 on a bike and got the same spec as a 2,000 dollar bike. The t8 or t9 even the collosus you get the highest spec you can buy for 3,000 or less.

Why do I always see this same comment? Saying a 2k bike is as good as a 6k bike is delusional at best. They aren’t top tier. You’re kidding yourself if you think they are. Spec alone does not make a good bike. But your entire comment is ignorant so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. Speaking of coping, the false bravado displayed is an undeniable sign of it.

@@spiffpilot2589interesting reply, very hostile. OP was talking about spec. But I'd add that frame and geometry alone wouldn't be enough for me personnaly to add an extra 4K on a bike. I think it's a view a lot of people share, but we're all different, if it matters to you spend the money and enjoy the ride. 👌
@andrewbrown8927
@andrewbrown8927 3 месяца назад
@spiffpilot2589 well explain how a n9 has a higher spec suspension, brakes and groupset than most bikes at 6,000. Carbon is no better than aluminum. The only difference is 1 pound.

@@spiffpilot2589almost as ignorant as a competitive cheerleading fan trying to drop bike facts without saying a single thing. You made no comment, just bashed the guy supporting polygon.
