I grew up on one of these exact yerf dog go karts. Rolled the thing 3 times. Took the governor off rolled it another handful of times. Then figured out that I didn't care for the roll cage so got rid of it. Never rolled again. Maybe I got more sensible or something. True nastalgia seeing you guys work on it.

love it! I bet if you drill the idle jet one size bigger it might have better take off. :-) I would also pull apart the torque converter and check the rollers they might gummed up and not rolling properly so it doesnt shift up and down the way its supposed to the rear driven pulley might need some love as well.

I'd love to see if the belt change would make a difference. Also maintenance on a used torque converter like this would be some good tech. Also, this kart has quite a bit of bump steer with the differing length or the right and left steering linkage. It'd be interesting to see if it could be eliminated to make it safer when jumping and at higher speeds.

Looks like I am buying one of these that needs some work to be done by Christmas for my kids. Got two questions.... What do you suggest for the rear wheels and tires (the one I am getting has none) and do you see away to move the pedals back towards the seat so that my kids could reach them better (they are blessed with my height or lack there of).

So my 212 predator motor should be plenty powerful enough to power that I have the same one Black but one seater I might just run a normal Clutch or should I put a converter on it

I actually would like to see how you address the steering... I'd go bigger wheels and tires, maybe convert some 10 inchers from a pit bike for the front and some decent ATV mudders for the rear... then step the sprocket down to 60... go anywhere and probably hit 35, great setup... I think LOL...

I've been looking at go karts and specifically I like the Yerf Dogs best. I'm 6' tall and was wondering if it's even worst getting a go cart or if it just wouldn't be comfortable at all.

can you guys help with a problem I'm having me and my son picked up a yerf dog that needed some fixing so we got it rolling chassis went and bought a brand new predator engine and only when we gas on it it will start to shake pretty bad. I've tighten bolts down I've moved engi e forward to tighten belt . could it just be the clutch? I'm using the original one series 30

Drill a hole on each spindle closer to the knuckle to attach the tie rods to, should help you get some more turning radius.

Sometimes the secondary clutch on the CVT takes some time to function properly. That's probably the delayed acceleration you're talking about. I had that problem on my old kilowatt Murray go kart.

I had the same motor and torque converter setup on my dingo. I still have the motor laying around but its crap. Old green like fuel in the carb aswell.

Please enlighten me on how to fix the front end. I have a Carter with the same issues, I see with this Yerf. Huge Turning radius for how small the kart is, and then the camber/toe in see at the end of video 17:57 with both sitting in it. Thanks!

I have the same kart. It's slow as anything even with a predator 212. I was thinking of putting a smaller sprocket on too but then you'll lose some of that nice torque. I would love if you did a video on the steering because that is one of the few issues I have with mine! Oh and the whole idling issue you had, it happens with every old techumse. It was the reason I swapped mine for a 212.

I have a yerf dog I put a tarp wrap on it, it keeps the mud and rain out. you guys should try it two, I have a video on my channel of it. love the vids keep it up
