They look good at a distance on camera. Up close, you can tell it's a rattle can job. No company is going to sponsor someone doing an inferior process to them.

I decanted the paint from rattle can & put it in a sprayer. That was 3 years ago & no peeling or flaking yet! My Jeep is an awesome hot pink 😁

Did you need to thin it with solvent? How did you clean up the sprayer after?

@@2degucitas no just used it straight from the can. Just make sure you let the can sit for a couple hours first (don't shake it up) & put it in warm/hot water. I sprayed acetone through the sprayer to clean the nozzle out & then made sure to put grease on the rubber rings afterward. I do wish I would have put a clear coat on to prevent fading & I didn't prep it like I should have. But it still looks pretty good for what it is!

Incredible work man, especially going the extra mile and painting the door jambs too. I bought a gallon of cheap acrylic enamel (basically same as spray paint) and a harbor freight HVLP $20 gun and used them to spray my 2008 Focus. Sold the Focus 2 years ago and still it cruising around Colorado Springs with nice looking Ford Grabber Blue paint even after going through auto car washes 2x per week and sitting outside every day.

You need a can sprayer my dude, save those fingers. Pretty good for rattlecan. As with any paint job it's all in the prep, and you did better than most of the cheap spray job places. I've seen them spray moulding, key cylinders, wiper cowls, and more.

I don’t like the can holders. Even the best ones out there don’t clamp hard enough and I have had them come for and hit the paint job. I have no issues as it is. I have built a tolerance up to the fatigue from spray can painting and my finger never hurts it’s forearm muscle

@@JamesDguy Nah, you're just still young! Once you get a bit more age on you those ligaments in your fingers are going to sing to you when the temp drops. This is coming from a former technician that now has a myriad of joint issues from decades of abuse. If you can utilize a mechanical system or mechanism to reduce wear on yourself Never hesitate to do so!

@@s13gouf60 I’m 32 and trust me I feel stuff. I have been doing manual labor since 16 to current and i have tried using them things and they don’t work as good as people think they do. I do worse paint jobs with them too. Also you still use your finger with them trigger things just doing it sideways 😂

If your garage has a gas water heater turn it off including the ignition flame (don't just turn the temp down) as the build up of spraying could cause a fire or explosion. keep this in mind what ever your doing in your garage.

I know paint jobs always look better on camera but if you take your time and prep it as if it was getting professionally painted it won't look like rattle can. You inspired me to do my car. Ill splurge and get enough for 3 coats of color and possibly 2 or 3 coats of clear so I can buff it. Still ridiculously cheap in comparison

Thanks and i do plan on putting more effort into the body work someday but for now this will work great. Also one day I wanna make a show car quality with spray can paint just to say I did it and fool the judges at car shows. I have gotten spray can jobs to look just as good as spray gun quality with the right amount of prep work and post work. Spray gun quality clear in a can with wet sanding and buffing yields amazing results. If you ever wanna see what I mean check out my pink crv wet sand and buff video. Fully spray can and has amazing finish. No orange peel 😎👍🏻

It depends what you paint onto, if you paint onto something that is flaky, it will flak off but if you paint onto a prepped surface like you did indoors it'll really hold up for a long time. Ice & snow though after several years could possibly leech it away if the car is outside 24/7.

I painted my sleds suspension rail, the ski spindles with spray can Rustoleum paint and used a rustoleum clearcoat to harden it up. IT has been 2 years now and it is a mountain sled it has held there really well ! And this thing sees more than rain and sand ! I have to say I was impressed that it held so good ! Nothing flake off ! Only one spot got scuffed because I hit a tree, but I repainted it last summer and it held there all winter long ! I would definately try this on a car !

I repainted a John Deere 210 tractor with cans of Rustoleum John Deere Green paint 4 coats over 2 coats of primer. Once I wheeled it out and used a polish buffer it looks beautiful

Hell yah this is my style!! But spray paint is so expensive now that you might as well buy a can of matched paint. There's a couple companies that actually match old Honda paint but I'm the same way. I've been hunting down rust and removing it then cleaning and priming/ painting with krylon and rustoleum for years now. It just feels good when you finish a big job with spray paint! Also Walmart generic spray paint is only 2.50$ per can and seriously adheres better than any main brand paint. No runs either. Its crazy

That color is dope 🤩 I did mine 2 years ago with red and still looking fresh and clean 😁 the key here is to risk it, I am not a professional painter but I followed some youtube videos and results were amazing you don't need professional tools or anything, with patience you can do panel by panel and the end enjoy gorgeous results 😉 your ride looks so fresh and nice.

I painted my calipers years back by mixing rust oleum gloss clearcoat with pigment. still looks great, it seems many rustoleum products are not actually enamel but more like lacquer you can tell as it wont clean up with the usual paint thinner/mineral spirits but requires lacquer thinner to remove.

quick tip.sometimes the nozzel has a tab where the paint comes out if you turn the tab you will get a wide fan spray.that paint covers very well the car looks good.well done...............peace

How cool is that! I have a 53 year old truck and get made fun of for the paint and rust spots, it's faded but after 53 years in the sun it's to be expected. I can't afford to paint it don't know how to fix the rust spots and I'm disabled and can't do any of it myself. So it is what it is. Great vid dude. I'll keep dreaming.

Try using Rustoleum appliance epoxy paint, it holds up better than standard.

I have but it doesn’t come out as clean it’s easier to get lines and stripes with that but it does hold up even better. The stuff comes out pretty good it has a pretty good UV protection this isn’t like the 2X paint the steps a bit stronger

I could almost argue that spray can paint is better than car paint. I'm sure I'm wrong but the spray can is made to have a nice finish, not to run/chip and be easy to apply. I think with a proper wet sand and some clear you would have a super professional looking paint job out of a can. Also a little bit of Bondo goes a long way. But overall looks beautiful.

It’s definitely not better but when applied correctly it can last just as long as the real deal. I have done it for many years and did a primer, base 2K clear paint job and they hold up great when you spend the time. I just like the color choices personally. Easy to apply if it ever does mess up 😁

Looks nice, I just think no clear coat is asking for trouble, paint gets wet, paint will run and / or look faded in patches, the clear coat protects your paint. I hope it lasts tho..
