CHEAP VS EXPENSIVE: IGL PREMIER VS GTECHNIQ C2V3 LIQUID CRYSTAL

I’ve experienced IGL Premier exceeding six months more times then less than six months. More benefiting too if you clay the surface and decontamination removal also. I love the gloss and glow the paint gets from Premier. Especially love when we see cars a year later and Premier still beads like crazy. Love the videos Jimbo keep them coming!

C2V3 can also be used as a regular sealant and it is amazing :)

I've been using C2v3 for a few months now, in my experience of using other products on my car vs the gtechniq I felt it was miles ahead with durability but the price is what kept me buying more. This video proved it is a worthy product at least, thanks 👍

I had a suggestion, to maybe apply the products, let them cure if need be, and then make the panel a little bit dirty to stimulate realistic cleaning. Because respectfully, I wouldn't use harsh chemicals on a freshly cleaned car nor a freshly applied wax or sealant. So maybe apply the products and then prop the panel up in the yard and with the lawn mower blow some fresh grass on it and let it sit long enough to dry, and then do the torture tests, OR proceed to clean the panel with just water and see how easily it would be to clean with just water before the test? Love your videos, just had a suggestion. Or you may be able to come up with something easier. Anyway, again, love the videos!

We have both at our shop along with reload. Prefer C2 over premier and reload.

I like C2V3 as a drying aid. Works very well that way.

Gtechniq make awesome products.. And the price point makes it a keeper in my book.. Since I use the full Gtechniq coating line

What I have learnt from this video is I should just use turtle Wax Ice spray Wax as it's only £3 and offers matched if not better performance.

I just applied Gtechniq on my C5 Corvette. My car has excellent paint and 9500 miles. It has the normal orange peel that you would expect from a nearly new older Corvette. It was far less noticeable and the gloss was amazing. I have tried several much more extensive products and Gtechniq is my go to product

$67? now in November 2022, its about $20-$25 here in Malaysia, saw a test by ScottHD and was impressed by it.

Very good video comparison. For me definitely 🎭 winner is cheap (gtechniq). It is more effective,durable & less price.

As an IGL master applicator, you did not allow the Premier to cure. It has SIO2 which requires at least 4 hours to cure. You immediatly wiped the panel right after application. This test is not in accordance to IGL applications instructions so this test should not count unless you apply in accordance with the instructions.

C2V3 hands down is the easiest non streaking( indoor or shade) spray that ive used. It sheets water and leaves behind an ultra slick surface. I apply every time I wash car. Wheels, glass, interior wood and gloss black . I've tried Car pro reload which is tough to wipe off and stinks like petroleum.

Hi Jimbo a couple of things... as per the instructions on IGL Premiere it needs to cure for 4 hrs before any water contact or introduction to any other products... As per your claim in the video it as only been on the car for a few hours so it as not cured at all... and when layering the product it also needs time for the base to cure before application of the second layer... If you look at a proper demonstration done by Scott Hibbeler (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZVFM-mtgU88.html)... The observation you are seeing is the product coming off as its not cured... In the future if doing tests please try and stick to the TDS sheets for proper test and results... thank you Joel

True about the SDS sheets....im starting to be very picky with what I buy...going with "less bad" but still effective as you mentioned

I personally have used and do use both Premier and C2, but I am much more of a fan of C2. It is virtually scentless, and the slickness under the towel and thereafter is amazing. It’s a great drying aid as well.

I’m only 5:43 into this & I can already tell you that Premier is going to win. Watch.

C2V3 is way better, thanks for the comparison. I own a black CTS and I detailed for years. Black is the absolute worst color of car to keep clean and looking new. This will help, I'm gonna have to try the C2V3 for sure. I appreciate the demonstration, made my decision easier.

FIVW HUNDRED BONES for the 5l Premier. $210 for the 5l C2 V3. I'm an eco conscious detailer, no pressure washer, no generator, minimal water in a pump sprayer. I'd go broke if I used products like Premier. And the product doesn't even work as good as C2? That's a lose/lose. GT has a great product lineup, with so many damn choices out there I forget how much I use to love them. CSL + C3 V2 err C2 V3 (stupid name!) would be a good coating combo for me to offer to my customers.

I found C2V3 to be lacking in self cleaning characteristics as well as longevity, especially compared to Premier. When used as a stand alone sealant, the advantages of Premier were even more pronounced. YMMV.

The problem with these “ higher end “ sprays is they need just as much maintenance as a dam coating. If you need to clay and polish the dam car you might as well use Fusso coat or IGL F4. That’s not to say they don’t work but just not spray and walk away spray as they’re put off to be. Even TW Seal and Shine needs two coats to really see 90 days of protection and you need to wash it at least 4 times in said 90 days. I’ve seen it with Moonlight as well. If the spray needs deep prep to get passed 45 days as a stand alone it should be less expensive. And don’t get me on water spots OMG.

I love c2v3 over primer. But I like IGL coatings over gtechniq.

Have you ever used Exoforma ceramic Shield I had a friend give me a 16 oz bottle before I take the other wax off I was wondering if this stuff is any good can you give me some feedback

The liquid crystal definitely outperformed premier by a bit. I personally use liquid crystal myself but as a standalone sealant and it does fairly well. Might do better on an actual ceramic coating tho

In Europe GTECHNIQ C2V3 LIQUID CRYSTA,L it is a top product, but you are more pretentious and give more money for poor quality products ;)))

How does anyone even know if something is eco or organic, if it really is. Answer is we don’t we have to take the word of the company trying to make a sale. There is no eco police or organic police so I don’t think it’s anything more than marketing. If a company made it up how would anyone even know? Warning labels are more helpful.

Hey jimbo love your videos I ha e a question I have a new set of pvd chrome wheels they say not to ceramic coat them I'm wordering what you would recommend to spray on them to protect them for a while would you use this c2v3 or tw seal n shine ty in advance

I'm just not much into all the ingredients and what's on the label small talk. I'm like act like your paying for a commercial on TV. Eagle one is more aggressive cause it’s a wheel cleaner first then an iron remover. Iron x is just an iron remover.

Sorry eco-mentalists, but when a product is labeled "environmentally friendly" it might as well say "considerably less effective". I work with a lot of chemicals and cleaning products and that's almost always the case.
