In this video I highlight a staple in my detailing arsenal, Gtechniq C2V3. This silica based sealant offers a high degree of durability in an easy to use versatile package.
Gtechniq C2V3 Description:
C2V3 is a high gloss spray-on sealant that will blanket your vehicle in a highly reflective, glass-like finish. This sealant is built around the same monomolecular (SI14) technology as the popular C1 Crystal Lacquer, so you know you are receiving great protection with this product!

I like spraying C2V3 onto a microfiber application pad, then applying it to the finish. It's a great product ... I use it as a topper for my ceramic coated vehicles.

I just applied C2V3 today on top of a car with CSL (1st layer) and ExoV5 (2 layers). I am going to wait about 2 days before washing it. The water beading is already insane with CSL and ExoV5. Can’t wait to see how this three layer combo works out!

For matte areas, I would recommend a matte specific product. Something like the Gyeon Matte is a great option.

Hi, great video...i just had my car detailed paint corrected and ceramic coated. My question is its been a few weeks now so it is cured, do you still recommend after washing it, should i wipe it down with panel wipe before applying c2v3 ? Thanks

Before applying the C2V3 I would recommend making sure your car is clear of any dirt and grime first. This will allow the C2V3 to adhere to the coating layer correctly. Amie - The C2V3 is a great topper to ceramic coatings. It will allow you to quickly apply a protective layer for a few months that keeps your coating cleaner, for longer!

If you are looking for the most protection possible, we do not recommend diluting the C2V3. For a drying aid, C2V3 works great when diluted 50/50. Just spray onto a wet surface and dry with your drying towel.

You can use C2V3 as a drying aid, just note that it will hurt the durability of the item.

Did you remove defects with P1 prior to all this? I am thinking of getting into this product line. It seems P1 would be the first step then move on from there if its c2v3 or the actual coatings.

This video was only to show application of the C2V3. If you are performing a larger detail, you will want to remove any imperfections first if needed.

You can! C2 works great as a topper to an existing coating layer, or as a stand alone protection layer for a few months.

You Mentioned prepping with a degreaser Would it still be necessary to clay the vehicle before that point or is that an acceptable substitute?

It all depends on the paint you are working on. If you have a lot of embedded contamination I would use a clay bar to remove it.

Is it best to spray c2v3 in to the towel and then apply to your vehicle or spray directly on vehicle and then spread the product out.

Shawn - It really comes down to personal preference. If you are concerned with overspray or want a more controlled application, I recommend spraying onto the towel first.

How does this compare to G5 in terms of hypdrophobicity?

G5 is a glass specific product, while the C2V3 is a topper used on painted surfaces or trim pieces. If you are working on glass surfaces, I would stick with the G5 for the best hydrophobicity.

Is panel spray cleaner necessary if you already have sprayed a layer of c2v3 within a month? Also, will panel spray cleaner remove the original application. I’m looking to stack layers.

Brandon - When applying C2, Panel Wipe is not necessary, but can help remove any oils from the surface for improved application.

HI 2 questions: I am going to place csl on my car for the first time. How soon after can I apply c2v3? second, can I use as a quick detailer and if so should I dilute 50/50 or other? thanks.

You do not want to dilute the C2V3. C2V3 works best when used at full strength and applied to a dry surface as it is designed to protect, not clean. If you are looking for something to use as a quick detailer or to clean light dust, the Gtechniq Quick Detailer is a better option.

C2V3 can be applied to paint, glass, smooth plastics, etc. The only areas I avoid are rubber or textured plastics, here I would use something specific to trim for the best results possible.

I have this. I tried it tonight. Not bad... a little streaky. I sort of used it as a drying aid after using the leaf blower. I sprayed it on the towel, wiped it in, then wiped with a clean towel. Lol, I like BeadMaker better(I think ). We will see how it looks tomorrow and how it lasts.

Beadmaker is great as well! Just note that the Beadmaker is not sio2 based and generally not recommended as a coating topper. Also, the C2V3 is more durable than the Beadmaker when applied to bare paint (i.e. not used as a drying aid). Each have their pros and cons, find what works best for you!

I would avoid a wax on top of sio2 products. Apply another layer of the C2V3 if you want added protection, but if you are using a traditional sealant, a wax as a topper will work great.

Do you need to throw out your micro fiber towels after application like with ceramic coatings? or is that not the case with c2v3?

It all depends. For C2V3 and most other spray on sio2 based sealants, you will not need to throw away the towels. For a full ceramic coating application (i.e. Gtechniq CSL, CarPro UK, etc.) I would soak in cleaner after wiping away excess and test the towels after a full cleaning. If you do not let the coating dry onto the towel some can be salvaged, otherwise, you may need to toss them out.

Noo...you want PPF applied to bare paint, now once you have applied PPF you can apply C2v3 over the PPF

@@shineobsessed4221 James, Thank you for your help. I'm a little disappointed because it is my impression that the C2v3 will give a deep luster to the car and I don't think it will have that effect on the PPF.

@@EdLeBeauCFIinstructor Not James but thanks!! James hasn't responded recently so thought I'd chime in. It should ...nearly all modern gloss PPF products should be treated/protected/maintained as you would a clear coat. You can enhance the finish with something like C2v3 or even a ceramic coating.

@@EdLeBeauCFIinstructor For an all in one cleaning/protecting most interior surfaces (with the exceptions of leather) I really like Nextzett Cockpit Premium easy to use one step clean+protect type of product, leaves matte finish and is super simple yet effective for regular maintenance. For leather cleaning and or deep cleaning in general grab some Gtechniq Tri-Clean work product with brush wipe clean with MF towel. Protecting the leather after cleaning I like Gtechniq L1, Optimum Leather Protectant is good and affordable also and ...if you are in a pinch you could go with Griots 3 in 1 Leather care Spray its an all in one clean+protect that does a good job and smells like new leather and can be found at your local auto parts store...

Both are fantastic options! For me, the C2V3 is slightly more durable while the Premier is slightly easier (less finicky) to apply.

Can u drive the car after application or does it need to stay stationary for 8+hrs for curing?

We recommend letting the car sit for at least an hour or so for the C2V3 to cure. It is not a full on coating, so it can sit much less than a traditional coating will need to.

The most common issue with streaking believe it or not is using too much. Also, depending on what you are diluting it down with could play a factor as well. Distilled water cut 50:50 with C2v3 is the go to for most detailers who run into this issue. Humidity and Direct sunlight also can play a huge factor, and I would recommend trying brand new towels to be sure there isn't any streaking coming from a dirty towel. Hard to say what exactly could be the issue as there are many variables, but C2 compared to other sealants is very forgiving. Also could be a possibility of mixing with a product already on the vehicle. 1.) Dirty towel/Has fabric softener on it use a new one 2.) Only cut C2v3 with Distilled water 3.) Full Deacon/clay bar prep before usage 4.)
