Probably for someone who is after the purple blond/pastel hair effect and needs cheap upkeep, Elvive sounds like a good alternative. But if you want icy blond and were willing to pay for it, you're better off investing in the professional products. Don't get me wrong: I appreciate a bargain like anyone else, but being blond is expensive and if you cant afford the after care, you might want to think twice about being blonde. Loved the video!!
Mmmh I think it really depends of the hair the person has ^^ In the beginning, I really bought expensive products like Goldwell to keep my blond hair (and not only for the color) and the products didn't work well on me unlike Elveve that gives me a polar blond ^^
Just shampoo the hair with normal shampoo and then right at the end add a bit of Elvive, emulsify and leave for a minute, then rinse, you will have the same result as the serie…. Hairstylist of 26 years and trained in L’Oréal expert.
Wow thats so interesting. I cant believe the stain was so strong and definitely dulled the swatch. I prefered the clean Blonde and shine the Series Expert gave
It’s important to notice that different hair samples might also have different porosities, even hair that grows from our own scalp might have different porosity, it’s all a matter of try and error
My mother has them both and they do the same job, they colour her hair silver. Btw, if you want another revommendation you should try Matrix which is also a l'oreal brand ,but really does an amazing job. I have the green shampoo from Matrix for brunettes and it is amazing. Kisses💞💞💞💞💞
I bought loreal serie expert - the amino 100 one. I think it’s the strengthening one. Let’s see how it is! I’ve changed my mind of salon based shampoo vs drugstore shampoos after looking at your videos! Thank you 🥰
What are you thoughts on the l'oreal professional compared to kerastase? The price range is different but both aim to be professional. I am trying to educate myself on hair care and your videos are great😊
Hiya Mike 🖐 along time watcher of yours. Just wanted to say I really like your channel. It's been incredible helpful to me and I feel like I've genuinely learnt quite alot and bought quite alot of products you've recommended. You are so articulate and truly know what you're talking about. I know what you mean about the product build up, during quarantine my locks were looking dull so I went for Fanola as it's so pigmented and surprise, surprise my hair is now incredibly dull and grey. This video just came in time. I shall be purchasing this. Thanks Mike! Keep up the great work!
Thst hair swatch was not at all brassy, yellow nor orange... It was preety neutral anyway. With hair that needs to cancel unwanted warmth... I don't think the professional one would do the job.
@@MikeDeCanter It would be very interesting to put them to an actual test with swatches of brassy hair. I keep my hair between level 9 and 10 so a strong purple shampoo that will cut the brass out is what I need. Any suggestions?
Another great video Mike. From the Serie Expert range when would you use the Silver shampoo over the Purple one? I have always used the Silver one and I find that it can leave hair with a slightly purple tone. Thanks 🙏
Ciao! Mike🤟 cool side by side. I think the professional one says it all. Love the purple 💜 background. Keep educating us. Oh Mike, you must check out Lixirskin skincare brand. Happy Monday🎈
if we are talking about brunette hair? you need serie expert cc creme. tidd.ly/2PzOsaD I think its discounted but i found it here. it works wonders on brunettes x
EtA: Once he added water they both appear purple. Use how you like then. 🙂 The Elvive is purple- good for yellow/blonde hair. The more expensive one appears more blue- good for more orange tinted lightened hair, do not apply to your beautiful light yellow or icy blonde hair. Yellow+Blue will end up with a green cast. So one way to check your "purple" shampoos is to know what color hair you are temporary toning. Easy way, as I said, is Yellow or Platinum Hair use purple shampoo. Brassy Orange hair either bleach again to desired blonde or use a Blue shampoo to counteract the orange. Toning is the 1st step though. The colored shampoos are just maintenence.
@@MikeDeCanter can I use the gloss shampoo every day? thanks for replying, i learn so much from your videos and I'm about to start my journey on using professional shampoos 😊
@@fenellevictoria7473 hi, I’m not Mike but I can reply if you still need one 😄 you should use gloss one day and the cool the other day to keep the colour cool and your hair smooth
Hi Mike! Great video, I always use the salon shampoo, never used a drugstore silver shampoo, I'm chocked, thanks for showing this. But I have a question. I have always used only the silver shampoo, do I need to use a silvermask and a silver conditioner also? I'm scared it will be to mutch? 🤷♀️
Must of changed the formula to the elvive one as it has the same appearence as the expensive one, I actually struggle to get it to work on my hair as i leave it in for 5 mins and it doesnt do much :/
Hey! I watched all your videos about Kerastase and was wondering which range should I use. I have hair that has blond highlights and is damaged at the ends but for several months I saw that at the front of my hair where my bangs start I have these little hairs that are very rough to the touch which I haven't had before and they are my natural hair. Also when I look at them closely, some have broken ends... don't know what is causing them and what to use?
