Maybe a video on how to properly attach lures, cause nothing drives me crazier than fighting a lure onto a hook for 20 mins... Except backlash from a bait caster 🤣
Matt Allen and Tim Little have caught quite a few double digits on the river to see S-eaver. They have a videos dedicated to how they fish the s-waver.
Personally I’m interested in seeing differences in different swim jigs and swim baits. Silicone vs rubber skirts etc. I liked this video a lot more toned down, thanks for all you do!!!
The cheapo Amazon bait is my one of my favorite swimbaits ive fished. About 3 years ago the first or second time I fished it I caught my official pb 6.4lb largemouth practicing for a tournament and have caught 3s and 4s on it. But that doesn’t mean it’s the best glad out there just saying it catch’s fish
@@tykeni6521 I was thinking the same thing. It looked like Ben was retrieving the expensive bait more slowly. He had also said what his preference is before the test so he put himself in a position where he might want to demonstrate/defend his claims.
So many questions. When do you use a snap? Do you ever use a big split ring? How do you know what size treble hooks and which treble hooks are best? How much weight do you add and how and where do you add it? Which paint schemes do you look for? Rotating hook hangers? Braid hook hangers? Line? Heavy mono flouro? Reels and rods?
Forget the baits, Ben you have come a long way from the water feature in your Nebraska backyard. Congratulations on all your success it is well earned.
I agree with some of the others. Shut off the fancy electronics and do 3 hours with a cheapo and 3 hours with the expensive. You and Cole switch back and forth every 30 minutes or hour. See which one catches more fish.
Love these videos...an expert showing his way.....I've use glide bait before but never got a bite yet, after watching how to use those lures hopefully I will get one soon
The Draw is the first glide I've owned finally got a chance to fish it today to see how it worked and it looks awesome didn't catch anything had one follower but I did catch my PB today on a 6th sense swim jig she went 7 1/4 lbs not bad for a 5 acre city poop hole in central Nebraska you bet
Milliken should do a video of him fishing the big swimbaits in a spill way. Or fishing at that spill way that he always catches those carp with that silver rattletrap that he snagges the carp with. If I said that right.
I lost my Hinkle Shad and cried for a week. That little Amazon bait trout glide gets bit actually. Wakebait 4TW! If you throw that thing on 15, it will glide better.
Thoes expensive baits are amazing but the price is still not worth it to me, I have caught plenty of quality size bass on on cheaper baits that have good action and are durable enough to handle some abuse. Its a shame that these baits are so much there is a huge % of anglers who will never have the opportunity to fish one of these baits because of the price..unless there given as a gift or there sponsored by the maker. Great video as always 👍
great video! definitely needed a video like this with the underwater footage. the sneaky pete is one of my favorites but in rivers.. hands down the best glide in current.
One thing that is not considered in this is the fact that all these baits can be tuned. They may not be perfect out of the package but you can easily make them swim better. Some suspend lead strips and hook changes can make all the difference.
I fish every single night for trophy river and lake stripers here in eastern Tennessee, one of the best places on the planet for huge stripers. I'm only throwing big swim and glide baits these days now. I have cheap ones and expensive ones. Some cheap ones are fantastic, some expensive ones suck. It just depends on current, line type and weight and rod. I seem to like the $30-$75 range ones the best. There are so many good ones on ebay all different price ranges and skill levels. I can tell you this tho, from 65 years of fanatical striper fishing all over the country in fresh and salt water. Whatever type of swim/glide bait you're using, there are only 2 color patterns you need, shad/or white, and rainbow trout, that's it, usually a 9 inch is the minimum size if you're after big fish like I am. I don't get many, because I don't use live bait and I'm a boatless bank fisherman, but the ones I get are real big ones, usually 35 lbs+. In the last 25 years I've caught 5 50lbers, and 3 of those were on 3 consecutive casts off tobay Beach long island. A school of huge bass was swimming by and I was right there. All 3 were 55 pounders. . I'm using only the most insanely expensive JDM tackle like Daiwa saltiga dogfights $1000+ , and 66 insane lbs of drag, shimano stella, twin power, and St croix, and Lamiglas glass rods. When I hook a big one, there are no excuses, line broke, hook straightened, drag too tight or loose, knot failed etc. This is my hobby, my life and I take it seriously. I'm the guy who owns the tennesse license plate "STRIPER". I've had it 20 years. It's striper fever and I've got it bad. I chased these awesome fish all over the country, I was in on the big striper boom in the 1980s in California at Silverwood and lake pyramid, and then i move to bullhead city Arizona and was there for those few years on the colorado river striper boom in the 1990s also. Ive never kept or killed a striper, every one is released alive.....my quest now is to get a verified 60 pounder. A very high bar to try to achieve. But im in the right waters, i use top notch tackle and i know what im doing, so you never know...if i get a 60, youll know. Today with cell phone cameras, the proof can go worldwide in seconds. Hopefully it will happen. Ive certainly paid my dues.....Tight lines boys.
Love the info on swimbaits. Just gettin into fishing big in my area and am searching info like a madman. Yours was excellent on pricing and action on different baits.
Also Ben forgot to mention that that the G-Ratt sneaky Pete was designed for fishing rivers/ current, most Swimbaits blow out and don’t swim well in the current but the sneaky Pete was designed for that ,,
Haven’t played around with the sneaky pete yet but the arashi has been one of my most productive glides in recent years, catching multiple 6lbers here in Illinois. I also like that it is silent compared to the sneaky pete other than joint clack
my favorite is the storm Arashi glide.. made multiple 1st and 2nd checks in the big bass tour events on smith mountain on it... at 40 bucks it walks very well
Good video man! I just started to throw the big swim baits this last year. I've done really good with my "Sneaky Pete". Especially with the spotted bass.
Make a vid over modifying different types of baits/lures like added weight, hook replacement etc… if you have one already just ignore this I’ll find it sooner or later
Besides the price point, bc I mainly fish rivers with current, I’m not sure if a a gliding swimbait may not be appropriate for that? It’s all new to me.
this is the hardest I've ever seen anyone try to justify the money he's spent on baits they are for real not that much different but there are cheap baits that roll over and catch on each others hooks so i do understand that
If you have a follower to your boat try using just the tip of your rod and swim that bait in a figure eight pattern. They’ll strike right at the edge of your boat
If I snagged up and lost an $800 lure, I just might have to quit fishing altogether. The being said, as to the level of detail on the paint job on a bait, I've caught fish on a wooden block (top water bait of course) with no eyes, no color, nothing on there. I've also experienced $2 swimbaits out-fishing $50 swimbaits of the relative same size and color.
Hands down best video yet. Great on description of every bait and what it does. The filming was excellent. Love to see more videos like this. Drop shot Cranking Reels Rods Jerk Baits Fishing Line Clear Water Stained Water Structures Anything and everything to do with fishing.
Cool video! Does a clip or swivel affect the action of the bait? And is it required? Could you use heavy mono if you do not have the access to get fluorocarbon?
