Cheap vs High-End Mini PC - Comparison & Review | Beelink GTR7 & Minisforum NAB5 

I have the Minisforum HX80 mini PC for my main system. Ryzen 7, 32GB RAM, 3TB SSD storage and an RX6600M GPU with 8gb. For under a grand, this thing screams for 1080p gaming....and can do 1440p pretty comfortably on most games too. I used to do custom builds all the time but now, I'm a dedicate mini PC fan.

"For those people who really like mini-computers"...raises hand slowly. They are so space efficient and portable if you move often or plan on moving in the future. Minisforum UM790 for PC gaming, Beelink GTR7 for PC gaming & work, or Intel NUC 13 Pro/Geekom IT13 for those focused on work only.

I use mini PC's for more than 20 years, in those days mini was more like SFF computers and smaller. They came mostly from Germany as industrial PC's with CPU and RAM but no HD. I started using them with Windows 2000 Pro Sp4 and kept that OS never went to XP or higher. Of course I was using GNU-Linux as well and still do these days, no more windows at my places. Sort of mini's where already there with the 486 CPU's, rememder the Compaq portables, they where smallish and they came with expanding cradles. There where others as well but don't remember the names, still have some of those computers and the Compaq's.

I had a mini pc in 2008 and they were never bad. I even worked for a company which sold them and we had zero problems back then. Most people just weren’t aware that they exist. Perfect for office use.

Hi there! During video-sequences at 09 minutes the resolution of NAB5 looks finer than GTR7. Did you use the same detail-resolution? Second question: Does the NAB5 has a dedicated key like F7 for example to choose the boot device? Thanks for the test.

I just bought my NBP7 not for saving money. It is expensive at about $700 over here😢It had been quite a decision for me, as this is a lot of money for us.

some people complain that cheap chinese mini pcs are not reliable. Do you have any comments? Are these going to last 2-7 years in normal desktop use?

Technically with a USB 3/4 charging, you can keep it going with a power bank with pass though charging. Literally just a glorified laptop... oh... with an actual replaceable battery!

Needs to be way more powerful when you compare it with an equivalent laptop and totally fails when compared to the PS5.
