$1000 before tax still expensive. It is better than $1200 before tax. Not a lot but that $200 for my monthly car gas fee instead. I’m coming from 1080ti. It’s showing its age. But still keeping it as backup.

With all the prices being online now in my country (Netherlands) I am baffled to notice that pretty much all 4080 models are more expensive (by sometimes 300 euros) than the 4080 Supers that just dropped.

Ima say this here right now, jayz graphs for 1080, 1440 and 4k are so simple and straight forward that it should be a standard!

With DLSS and 1440 SOTR ultra settings...the 4080FE is getting 37 more fps than my 3080 10g. Think I'll hang on to my money for a while.

In our local electronics stores they have a bunch of 4080 Super cards. However, they cost more than regular 4080s (which are not discounted and highly priced as well) for whatever reason and even more than what I paid for my 4090 TUF shortly after launch (4090s are now 1.5x as expensive as MSRP here). Online, prices are a bit better, but I don't know what's going on here in Europe, at least in brick and mortar stores.

Still a year removed from 4000 series launch I still can't wrap my head around the 4080 pricing. Its got to be one of the most poorly segmented GPU's ever. I was going to consider an upgrade from my 6950XT to a 4080 but between the ridiculous pricing and it basically not anywhere near the $999 and very poor uplift, its definitely a no go.

bought my 4080 during release, for 1199$ some regrets, but its served me well, allowed me to get into 4k60hz Ultra gaming(mostly play single Player games), pairs well with a i5-13600k, I could have gotten a 4090, but it was sold out everywhere, so bit the bullet and got a 4080...GG and happy more ppl can get a 4080 now...as I'm sure more will since it's in a better price range, I feel some driver updates will put those extra cuda cores to better use, maybe just an assumption, but it was expected to perform maybe 5% better than the non-super...that does make me feel a lil better, about the 4080 super, is that it's not leagues ahead of the non-super...

went to best buy when the doors opened on launch today, of course, not a single 4080 super shipped to the store. Got pissed and just ordered a normal used 4080 super for 950(1015 tax). At least I'm not inflating their sales numbers, they better figure this shit out, probably gonna be the same old story come 50 series.

It's pretty telling how much margin there is when AIBs are up charging the same die for so much money (Strix, etc) when AIBs aren't even allowed to do anything worth while to the specs to actually justify the cost bump. 1% more clock speed? Here, pay 200$+ more. Nvidia is unironically actually trying to put AIBs out of business, between their strict limitations on their partners and them selling direct to consumer at MSRP... yeah.

Did all the tech tubers in a group chat just agree let's be super negative lol. The prices were out yesterday on AIB cards and many are at MSRP or slightly over. In fast only Asus Strix was $1200+...

Im one of those unlucky people that bought a 4080 at the end of last year for most of my pc gaming experience i only bought pre builds because thats all i could afford but i decided i finally wanted to build my first high end gaming pc so saved for a few months bought all the parts i wanted then got it all built mid December then in early January my freind tells me about the 4080 super news safe to say i was a little bit salty 😆

I had a 980ti, 1080ti, 2080 and now a 3080Ti. I refuse to upgrade anymore. I just wont do it until I get below 60fps at 1440p (except for Starfield, that game is just Bethesda certified broken). The prices are stupid.

Like Jay said that the new 4080 won’t compare to 4090 even with overclock but would still like to see a video of a comparison between a OC 4080 Super and a 4090. I think it would help newer pc builders what he means and give a little more detailed explanation of why it can’t compare. Newer pc people just needs more knowledge on this type of stuff and Jay is definitely the guy to do this. Yes Gamers Nexus would be another good candidate for a video like this but I think they are more focused and explain stuff for more tech savvy people that already know this stuff plus Jay has a certain level of entertainment that you just don’t get from other RU-vidrs.

Im running an A770 on my rig and love it. I used to only run AMD but have loved the move over. Im sticking with the card ive got until Intels Battlemage releases. I am debating on getting a GPD Win Max 2 though which runs AMD 7640u/7840u though. Mainly because of my interest in the G1 external graphics card with oculink. I would love to know what the comments and Jay think about them.

I think 1200 bucks might even be undershooting it, but man these prices, they're insane.. And tbh with how small the gaming market share is for Nvidia I don't see them having any reason to lower it to compete with AMD, if anything I'm afraid it's gonna be the other way around.. If Nvidia refuses to lower prices because businesses and even nation states are hogging their gpu's, there's not gonna be a reason for AMD to undercut them, except perhaps Intel..? But that could take years if not a whole decade

What is Nvidia's reasoning for having such a huge gap between the 4080 and the 4090? which is unlike previous generations. It feels as if there is a missing card in between (perhaps a GPU they were not able to successfully manufacture?). Assuming the hypothetical-4080 came in there, that could've meant every gpu below it (4070 downwards) would've been in a higher performance bracket, hmmmm

The only reason they went with matte black is because it's harder to spot melting 12vHPWR connectors if all the plastic isn't shiny.

This whole 40 series lineup might the lamest and most nonsensical releases from Nvidia. None of the 40 series reviews from anyone reviewing these cards has been positive or even exciting.

Got the 7900XTX for $800 last year. I occasionally get FOMO'd and tempted to switch back to Team Green, but this video validates that there really is nothing to look forward to on the green side and how much of a great value the 7900XTX really is.

Gotta say, I switched from my old 2080 TI to a 7900 XT a little over a month ago, not regretting it at all. Especially after knowing I didn't miss out on these "super" cards

I bought a 7900xtx Tuf OC and a 7950x3d a few months back for like a $100 more dollars compared to what 4080 oc's were selling for at the time.

I have my 3060ti and I'm still happy with it. Running a 1440p 144htz monitor and everything feels smooth. While I'm sure my newer games aren't hitting the max fps, they're still fun to play and I don't notice any issues. Feels like the marketed FOMO is getting really out of hand.

I had to work on the 4080S launch day and just could not take the time off to try and get this card myself. So, I sent my mother-in-law on a mission to get one for me at our local Microcenter lol. She doesn't even know how to turn on my computer, that's how computer illiterate she is, but I had no one else to depend on! I gave her a crash course on GPU manufacturers, that the 4080S could be sold under several different brands, and to try her best to land me either the FE, or the Zotac Gaming Trinity Black Edition, which both retailed for the $999, but if those were gone/sold out, ANY other 4080S would suffice. I was working on a new build and had everything except the GPU because I was waiting for the 4080S release, so I was running on the iGPU in the meantime. I gave her additional instructions that if for whatever reason she couldn't find any 4080S, to grab the Sapphire 7900XTX Nitro+ that was in stock there. And if for some CRAZY reason, both the 4080S and the 7900XTX's were all sold out, there was a 4090 sitting in the cabinet for the last couple days, she could bring that baby home lol. I secretly wished for the 4080S and 7900XTX to be all sold out, but she came home with the Zotac Gaming 4080S. She did say that the sales rep who helped her had tried to talk her into buying a different 4080S that was $1299, but since the $999 Zotac was available, she declined. He even tried to get her to call me and ask, but she snapped back and said, "I think I can decide for myself which one to get for him!" lol.

Price for this should clearly be 750~800 USD$, but pandemic made nVidia greedy and buyers dumb.

Honestly I don't think a 4090 is necessary unless you're gaming everyday in 4k or using it for high res 3d. I got a 4080 2 months ago and honestly I don't play to game in 4k high fps and there ain't much I can do with it in blender right now so it's overkill but I get more use in blender by the end of the year I hope Also paid +$500 for my 4080 compared to the super so year ~$1500 yes this is more expensive but there isn't a lower price in south africa the sellers here are full of sh!t

Feels like Nvidia has been the puppeteer of tech reviewers as of late with these scattered reviews. Next time if possible (and if viable) perhaps just wait and release one "big" complete review at the end and have the ones before that like smaller "preview" videos, or don't and make other content. As buyer I would get exhausted to follow all of these scattered videos when these are suppose to help me make ONE purchase decision.

I dont agree its a good value imo. This is no longer the 1080 days guys. You cant expect more and more technology more hardware, more parts more metal to be the same price every year. If you made them yourself like my mother used to for the motherboards and chips inside of said gpus you may understand the pricing. Even amd stated they lose money on there gpus just to compete. They make money everywhere else. So its that hard even for and to price well. Amd 7900xtx performs like a 4080 super and was the same prufe as the 4080 super. So what each offer it makes sense based on performance so again you cannot expect flagships at lower prices when even amd is losing money trying to set lower prices. Just like they lost money in the consoles with what they did. Then you have the fact nvidia has hardware prioprietary items that will increase peoduction cost. And expect them not to charge a little more? Get ober it and please take some business classes. You are very smart with things you know but sometimes you sound like the kids at 15 conplaining. I went with the strix 4070ti super, coming from the strix 2080. It breathed new life into my RT titles with double the fps, while keeping everything in ultra at 3440x1440, and despite running a 9900k build, my gpu has been holding a capable 3100mhz and that’s awesome. I’m honestly glad I waited

I’ve only started watching PC channels in the last year or so after semi building a computer for my wife. I’ve found that it is very challenging to determine what to get as a consumer for many parts because there are so many options and figuring out what the differences are can be confusing. I appreciate this channel and GN for keeping everything pretty straightforward.
