If you do granular at the recommended rate your applying at a high rate of nitrogen per 1000 square feet so potentially more green up and can possibly last longer. My cost comparison video shows the cost of granular application of urea
Dude - Ammonium Sulfate is not cheaper than Urea unless the Urea is over priced. I know as I was trying to buy a bigger supply today. Watch out for salt level applied when using Ammonium Sulfate. Matt Martin on the Grass Factor has a great older vid on Amonnium Sulfate. Can also reduce soil PH if used allot which is good or bad depending where your PH is at. I do like the deeper green Ammonium Sulfate gives you than Urea. In fact - Earlier today I just ordered online a couple bags of lesco soluable Ammonium Sulfate.
