And they don't like commercial feed so you're going to save money there let me tell you I've not found a better breed of bird you can cross into your flock to take the food cost down within your flock plus whenever you cross them into a regular Barnard bird The Roosters that come off of that they are the most amazing free range bird out there in my opinion the way he runs the flock is Elite he organizes things like where the roosters go where the hens go it's just amazing how hard these birds work but you got to make that cross I crossed mine with a Barred Rock but up there where you guys are colder if you did try this out I would definitely cross it to some kind of very cold tolerant Birds like a Cochin or a Brahma so far everything I've crossed this to as come out amazing the hens lay small eggs though so I suggest using a rooster into something like a red star if you're wanting to lean towards bigger eggs make sure you take an Egyptian chicken rooster to a good egg layer not a good egg layer rooster into an Egyptian hen if you're worried about the size of the eggs.
