CHEAPEST BEST CROSSBOW? Review and Shoot the Killer Instinct Lethal 405

I just purchased a Bruin 410 from Bruin Outdoors based on my hunting buddy's recommendation. He was right on! Before I ordered it, I did every bit of research I could find on this bow having never fired a crossbow before. I bit the bullet and ordered the camo model last Sunday evening for $259.00, and it came in FedEx on the following Wednesday afternoon with free shipping. It arrived in 2 1/2 days...Amazingly fast shipping! Everything was intact when it arrived, and it was boxed very well inside of another box. The instructions were not that great but easily identifiable pictures and the description on how to assemble it was adequate. It took me 15 minutes to assemble the entire package. I absolutely love it! It's my first crossbow, but I can say, as a lifelong bowhunter and gun hunter, this crossbow is built like a tank and seems to be very solid. In fact, the screws already had Loctite on them. The scope is nice with a graduated reticle and it is lighted with both red and blue LED's that are adjustable in brightness. It is a very high quality crossbow for the price. The 410 is a b!+ch to cock though (I'm 65), but still manageable. It comes with a rope cocking device, a sling, and the AR style stock and foregrip make it easy to hold steady and aim. It is built so well that you don't have to worry about putting your fingers where they don't belong as the foregrip has an extended area so your fingers don't ride up toward the rail. The 20" bolts that came with it are very accurate. They are 410 grains with the 100 grain field points. The shafts are 310 grains alone. This is an extremely quiet X-Bow for the speed. For sighting in better and deer/hog hunting, I ordered Black Eagle Executioner 20" bolts, and will be using Thunderhead 125 Broadhead's which will give me right at 459 grains of total weight with a great FOC due to the brass inserts on the Executioner bolts. Trust me when I tell you that you can't go wrong with this package, especially with Bruin's great warranty. Accessories and strings are easy to find and not outrageously expensive. I was going to buy the black 410 model for $20 less, but I ended up purchasing the camo model. The only thing I don't like about the camo model is that the aluminum anodized/powder coated 'riser' somewhat shines in the sunlight if the light reflects off of it just right. I will have to probably use some camo spray paint and a sponge to knock down the glare. It's not bad, put I am very picky about those things in the woods. Overall, this bow weighs 8 pounds and it is a beast! You can't go wrong with this X-Bow. It has an anti-dry fire mechanism and fits my normal sized hands perfectly. The only accessory that I may purchase is the cocking crank only because both of my wrists are trashed from being young and dumb :D If you can, bite the bullet and buy this X-Bow. You won't be disappointed!

This is second season with my KI Lethal 405. Well built, cheap scope the front lens fell out on the eighth shot. I didn't mind I already planned to replace it with a Nikon P3. Excellent shooter, as many on the inter net have said across the board these 400 + fps bows are shipped with to light of arrows. I split a limb this year before season. Replaced the bow and bought Lighted Nock Pile Drivers, with 150 Swackers the weight is 497. They shoot a little slower and way more quiet. No shot on deer yet.

Free hands hard to keep em tight. I just bought the same bow. My arrow holder is like a brush.. Yours and all the rest of em i see have that curved metal piece to hold it... Plus i see all these videos of the same 405 . the right limb cracks.. I mean alot of videos of em cracking. So i just hope we got one of the good ones.. Oh btw.. I have one just it. Took it to range. Shot out to 20yds, a little tweeking with the scope. one inch groups, just about dead center. Sorry I don't have photo. Used a target similar to yours.

I have replaced the factory arrows that came with the bow they were 370gr.i got some 400gr.arows and it was like shooting a different bow it's alot quieter and alot smoother and alot less vibration so my suggestion is go with a heavier arrow at least 400gr.arows or even 420gr. but so far it's a very consistent and accurate crossbow.

Nice video. I just got a Killer Instinct burner 415. I shot 2 shots so far. After researching I feel I better get heavier bolts. I have them ordered and will shoot it with bolts setup over 500 grains

I have the killer instinct boss 405. Wt a killer instinct Lumix IRE scope upgrade. I have the dead silent Crank. Have a sling. And I shoot victory x bolts 430 grains. It's in brand new shape.

Just shot mine today first time the crossbow is awesome but the scope that came with!I'm pretty sure it will be replaced.

I love the bow but I don't got no 6 position stock on mine I never had no problems with it ,it's accurate but it's up to the shooter to get out to long range I lubed my bow after I got it out the box

Why is mine the only one I’ve ever seen with a brush retainer. I think that’s the reason I get so many bolts off target not to mention I’ve got groves starting in my bolts it’s only been shot about 25 times

I bought a KI crossbow. When I tried to contact them with an issue with my trigger, they never answered me. I'm not going to hold my breath for any assistance. I solved the issue myself without any response at all. If that's what you are looking for in customer support, by all means, go with a company that will ignore you like KI.

so you've had it a month or so today, Would you still suggest this as a "BUY" for a cost effective crossbow? I'm eyeballing the cabela's 22-28th sale for the same unit with the crank. Fellow Michigander and 30 minutes from Northwoods myself so it might pay to just get it from them.

The bolts that comes with them are to light. The limbs are exploding check out the reviews. Use heavier bolts it might save your limbs and your life. Just a heads up

Yeah them cheap crossbows are really great until they blow up on you and I live in Michigan and the Killer Instinct is not made in Michigan it is made in China and shipped to Michigan it is a chinese-made crossbow all I can say is if you want a chinese-made crossbows the best one out there is a Barnett and it's made in China is well

dont buy it after time the limbs will crack dont be cheap buy a excalibur crossbow or tenpoint or something that is around the 300-500 range
