From your figures, I noticed Malaysia is cheaper than Vietnam. $3,127/4.5 mths = $695, whilst one month in Vietnam , you spend $935

Alwin spent around twice the amount of monthly minimum wage of Malaysia ($350-ish) in a month ($700), so if any tourist read this, you can expect that he enjoyed his living here by not underspending during his stay

Yes there is much more to consider than just prices before living or traveling to a country. Are you referring Malaysia in what shared?

I mean Malaysia's nice I guess, the air qualities is mid, the education system is great and there isn't much natural disasters as long as you don't live in the north part of Malaysia (Kedah,Kelantan and Perlis) considering those are prone to floodings. If you stay in KL or Selangor and visits the North from time to time (you'll get good air qualities in north due to the amount of farms and forest) then it's a nice place to live. Basically, Live in Selangor or KL but visit the northwest from time to time if you want fresh air.

@@King_of_kings07 prones to flood? Well at least it's predictable since its only on monsoon "season", seasonally. and not like in KL and Selangor with flash flood that caught everyone by suprise. So make sure you get facts right before putting anything as you claimed.

So thailand 4.5 months, Malaysia also 4.5 months. But we are cheaper a bit. Let us not calculate per month, overall it is cheaper in a well developed country.

Alwin did not visit many touristy places. That is why it is cheap. If you go to national parks, go to palawan , boracay, coron, go on cruise in halong bay, go to angkor wat, you will see a bigger hole in the wallet. And not to mention bali and singapore A bigger hole will appear in the wallet.

i am in bali now. $2 per night for a hostel. got some dates and a big bottle of water earlier for about $1.25. it can be cheap if you don't eat fancy all the time & do lots of touristy things

Where did you sleep? Hostels or hotels? What about food? Flights? This cost is really low imo. I am preparing myself for a trip to India, Bangladesh + Southeast Asia + Indonesia + Philippines and I’m not sure 20k USD is enough or too much. Would appreciate your help 👍

Just divided by cost of the day, i calculate from your figure the cheapest is 1. Malaysia $23.16/ Day 2. Thailand $23.38/ Day 3. Vietname $31.18/ Day 4. Philippine $40.42/ Day
