I love me a good trellis! Growing vertically is a great way to expand your garden if you can't expand horizontally. It also benefits most vining plants, giving them better airflow and keeping them off the ground increases health and reduces disease.

I was never the Gardner my Dad was. He couldn’t,wire a switch or cut a board straight but when he was in a garden he was an artist .During the 30 s We always had a big garden,my brother and I-Had of the job of digging the garden and picking worms tor fishing and Dad would transform it into a vegetable producing machine and in the fall mom would can every thing in sight,we were poor but we ate well. I,m 92 now but those old golden memories are a treasure.

As a lady in her 70s from the UK I will always be in awe of your generation and that of your parents and grandparents. When I think of what you faced during two world wars and the great depression and yet somehow managed to be so stoical and just kept going, managing also to find a little fun and laughter in such difficult days. Truly invincible ! I also have such clear memories of helping my grandad and then my dad in the garden. Sometimes I think I can still smell that wonderful combination of his pipe tobacco along with the growing tomatoes on a warm day in the greenhouse. Isn't it curious how the older we get the more vivid these memories become. Every blessing to you !

By looking at what your doing I’d think clean up is easy at the end of the year, razor knife and cut the twin and throw all of it in a burn pile. The panels work great just a pain at the end of the season cleaning them up.

Not sure if the twine is water-proof, but fishing line works very well for tasks like this. It doesn't rot; therfore, it will last the season. You can pull it very tight because fishing is fabricated to handle tension and stretch. Another benefit of fishing line is that it is less visible and will keep things looking good. I use fishing line to keep Canada geese out of my yard. It's not visible to neighbors on the lake, but the geese see it and stay away.

@@mollymorrisey6123 I make an A frame by leaning two bamboo pcs together, I do this many times down the length of the garden. I put another pc of bamboo on top of the A and tie everything together. There is a type of tomatoe clip that will loosely hold the vine on one side and tightly pinch the trellis rope on the other. I hope this helps.
