These are one of the best bushcraft stoves out there. There is always something to burn. Gas stoves can break, valves get damaged, or a gas leak. I have cooked mince and dumplings in a cast iron pot in my back yard the first time I tried it. Another great video Dam. Have a fab week-end.

Started off with this exact stove. Loved it. Do not burn logs (thick pieces of wood) on it because it creates smoke. Kindling is perfect, and a bag should be no more than £3. I use this stove as a campfire, in combination with a windshield and a lean to tarp it creates a nice warm area for 2 people. I upgraded to the titanium stove and it's warped a little but holding it's shape much better. After a year the steel stove warped beyond usable like Dan said it does have limited use. Well worth getting the titanium version. Warning once it warps it may randomly come undone and embers or your cooking will spill everywhere so use common sense. Happy camping and evenings out by the fire!

You really are a true inspiration EW. Although I'm not into wild camping or bushcraft, I was looking for reasonably priced, lightweight camping gear to take with me on my weekend road trips in my little sprortscar. (Really don't want 100kg in the boot lol) Your videos have helped me put together a pretty good and versatile camping set up which hasn't cost a fortune and also weighs very little. I have the hinged version of this stove, which is capable of housing a Trangia (or cheap rip off) alcohol stove, plus, a shoe polish tin fits in there too making it suitable for solid fuel tablets. So for about 25 quid, I have a wood stove, an alcohol stove and a solid fuel stove 😄 Many thanks once again.

Bought a similar stove branded "Overmont" back in 2018, that's made from heavier gauge stainless steel, but no longer appears to be available. Slightly more pack weight, but not prone to warp & I'm fairly sure it'll outlive me. Infact, it's even slightly heavier than the original "Emberlit" stoves that all these interlocking "flat-pack" twig stoves are just cheap Chinese "clones" of. The one thing mine lacked was an intermediate partition to support a trangia alcohol burner or solid fuel tablets for times when restrictions are in effect. Now that I think of it, that should be a fairly easy thing for me to fabricate.

The steel version of these lixada oven last many 100 burns, and they warp very little. After a while they get this brownish/copper colour, not ugly at all. I bought a bigger titanium lixada oven like this for two years ago, and this have been used a fraction of the smaller steel version, and have warped so much that the plates almost dont fit the bag. I have bought my last fancy expensiv lightweight titanium oven.

Very enjoyable vid 👍🏻 A question & a couple of thoughts. 1. Are the panel edges sharp ? Do the stove panel edges need a bit of sanding to stop them slicing your fingers ? To reduce warping, never artificially cool the stove. Personally i prefer metal utensils. You can put them in the flames to sterilise them. Always a risk that some raw chicken ends up on your plate. I have the same frying pan. Heavy but a corker. Great for short haul bushcrafting & car camping but definitely not for backpacking. Lastly, you can set a trangia burner in your twig stove. Just drill some holes in 2 opposite panels to slide 3 rods/cheapo tent pegs through 👍🏻

Dan, you need to stop lining Buddy Bezos’s pockets, get on flea bay. Lixada hinged stove, same size, and with plate to hold a Trangia burner, all for under £11, brand new. 😉

Not lining at all! This Style of stove just wood burning this is the cheapest one

I've been looking at this for a while but I bought the BCB Crusader MK2 which can take a Trangia, gel and a twig stove. Costs more money though and is a lot heavier.

I thought the stove performed very well. When you put your pan on top, it didn't seem to dampen the fire at all, so the air flow is obviously good.

Yes, the air holes at the side of the stove help a lot. Plus, if we dont over full the stove, the stove burn is great .

Please can you tell me where you get those stir-frys? I brought a twig burner from Oscar Outdoors scout appeal! I cooked the best bacon butty in the woodland ever. Stay safe Dan atvb 👍🦊

Tomshoo stoves are worth a look, and can be found from about £13.50 upwards.

i tried the new local walk and thought about setting up dinner near the picnic benches but it was swarming with midges!! Also brought out my old tent (coleman avion x2) but lost the back porch pole bugger! Tried the site tent spares but they are hopeless :( Did go into the local camping shop and saw a vango helium U2 F10 tent for 250 though. They had this ultra light tent for 450. Sorry cant remember the name and i will try to find out if you want. Lightest tent i have ever seen!
