I dueled someone on DN and I had a Gladiator Beast out on field, he used an effect, I used war chariot, then he puts all the cards back in his hand and then activates dark hole. I told him he couldn't do that and he just rage quits, haha.

this might be a dumb question but, if you have a damaged card or whatever. A card that you cant use but you do not have a replacement for it. Would it be possible to bring a token instead and show the judge that you're replacing the deffective card with the token card? Kinda low on cash at the moment.

Concerning the book of moon/maestroke issue- I've heard that if a card was previously face up on the field and was later flipped face down by a card effect, you can ask confirmation of the defense, or general statistics of the card and that you can call a judge to the table to force confirmation. Is there any truth to this?

Question, say u own a deck with a lot of holos and some of them randomly bend for no reason even though u take care of them (meaning u don't bend them at all and place them in a sleeve and deck box), is it possible to get dq'ed for it?

Make sure you also know what card effects do. If you don't know exactly what a card your opponents using does you should read it so that they cant cheat or not pay a cost or even select improper targets. You also don't have to give out certain info before you start playing. A lot of people typically ask the question "What do you play?" or "What are you playing?" and you don't have to tell them. Also watch for stacking or people adding cards to their hand for no reason people who pile shuffle can make stacks of 5 and then stacks of 8 or vise-versa and it will put there deck the same as it was before but in reverse order allowing them to stack. They can palm cards have cards on their lap and it can even be as simple as asking the opponent what their lifepoints are at to give them the distraction to do it. I suggest recording both players lifepoints as well so they can't cheat in that sense. There are also people who are good at card tricks who can simply classic pass the deck quickly enough to put a really good card at the bottom of a deck or put a bad one at the top. Also always look out for damaged cards and sleeves or even marked cards that would allow them to find the cards they need. One of the hardest things to catch is holos that are slightly bent. Holos bend when they get cold and if you have all the key pieces of your deck holo and everything else rare or common you are really likely to find the slightly bent holo cards. Technically however the last one can't really be caught because all the cards are technically playable and there's no way to prove that they are using it to cheat unless you can link it to stacking. -Cheers J.C.

if your opponent asks to see your graveyard or to tell him what is in your graveyard do you have to do it for instance you have a deck with a lot of cards that make you discard cards then you have a card where your opponent has to guess the first card in your graveyard or else he will take damage is he allowed to ask for a graveyard check before you activate the guess card??

What do you do about cards that bow naturally thanks to them being shiny etc. it's annoying that half my cards are bowed thanks to temperature and are now visible from looking at my deck from the side, would they get flagged for cheating etc.?

So I was on dueling network using constellars, and I tribute constellar rasalhague to use its effect to bring back constellar omega (It can summon an xyz from the monster), I then overlayed omega to summon constellar ptolemy m7 (m7's effect lets it overlay on another constellar xyz) from my extra deck, then my opponent rages accuses me of cheating, calls me a noob and leaves the game... o_o what exactly did i do wrong there?

Is it cheating if the opponent summons Synchron Explorer, special summons Quickdraw Synchron, and then Synchros for a Lvl 7... so because Quickdraw's effect was negated by Explorer's effect, would you be able to Synchro Summon a Black Rose Dragon if Quickdraw's effect that requires that it must be Synchro for a Synchro Monster that is listed that needs a ''Synchron'' material tuner?

yeah I had a player who dueled me and then he shuffled my deck sideways looking at my cards I left and then he made a big scene, so is it actually true can I call cheating if a player looks at my deck to a judge

I think I read that you cannot actually just rearrange your cards while searching. It is in the rule book. And you are allowed to ask for the Atk and Def of a face down monster that was flipped face down eg Book of Moon.

Even if your opponent says no to telling you the stats of a card, you can call a judge. It is considered as common knowledge to know what the stats are on cards. I went through this at a regionals. Hope this helped!

The only time I've ever taken back a move is when I accidentally summon like the wrong synchro or xyz or fusion or something because I misunderstood the situation or something like that, and even then I ask my opponent "Do you mind if I take that back I meant to do something else." and even then I ony ask if they have no response and it's still the same turn, like if I summon stardust when I mean to summon scrap dragon or something and they have no response to it.

In tournaments, can i ask how many cards in opponent's deck is left?

For the defense thing with book of moon/maestroke. You are allowed to ask any judge for confirmation on the Defense/Atk/Eff of a card. As all cards stats/Eff are considered general knowledge.

i went to a torment once, and i had an oppinite that had a play, that i forget what it was, but we where confused on weither or not he could use it effect or not, and hte judges didnt know the ruling on it neither, do we just agreed to flipping every time when the effect would happen, if he calls it right the goes thru, if not, etc...

2 questions, Can the other player ask the judge to shuffle my deck if i have used a card to sort like the top 5 cards of my deck? Are you allowed to take the cards of the other player (if they are NOT concealed) to look at the effects and so on?

you can look up any card. the opponent cannot hide information of certain card text or ruilings. lets say i wanted know a random synchro monster eff. i may ask my opponent or search it.

I just dueled someone who thought sending a face-down spell card to the grave still counts as it being activated and the same person thought we had the same old Field-Spell rules and I told him to look on Yugioh Wiki and he didn't won't to do that then I told him to look it up on RU-vid and then he called me a cheater and just quits and then I said man you need some help.

9:30 actually, the way it works, you're not allowed to ask what the ATK/DEF of the "set monster" is. You CAN, however, ask what the ATK/DEF of a certain card name is, and if your opponent knows, they have to tell you. At least, that's how it works on DN.

@The book of moon attack over thing and not using your phone to look up the defense it is completely legal to request the defense points of a particular monster or request the effect of a particular monster. Now you cannot say what was that cards def but u can say what is the def of (insert monster name). If your opponent refuse to answer your question you can actually get the judges on them.

You have a right to know the stats of any card in the game at any given time. you just can't ask what card they have.

One time I was at locals (this was just last month) and I was dueling this Blackwing player. One of his sleeves broke in the middle of the duel while shuffling, so he swapped the sleeve with one in his side deck, then looked at the card, put it on top, and then wouldn't let me cut! One thing I also hate is when people just shuffle and put their deck back, refusing to let you cut. It annoys the shit out of me.

If the cards are in sleeves, how would the cards get damaged while shuffling? Yeah cards get bent, but its something that happens over time and nothing a couple of hours between two phone books cant fix. I dont know how it is in yugioh, but in any magic tournament, you can shuffle your opponents deck in any way you want.

I have Raviel The Lord Of Phantasams and it doesn't say anything about having to have 3 fiend type monsters in my hand to summon home but then on the app duelist calculator it says to have the 3 fiends in my hand. I have always played all of the fiends and then tributed them after each turn for all of them was done and it was my turn.

The bent cards thing shouldn't be counted as cheating. A lot of cards are bent when opened mint from a pack, and some cards are completely flat.

Might be a dumb question, but say if you do flip their monster face-down, and then ask what the DEF was, and if they give you a wrong number, would that be cheating for them? I know it's not public knowledge but they should only be able to choose not to give an answer, rather than giving an incorrect one.

If you book of moon someone's card, then the def of that card is public knowledge since it was face up previously, so you are allowed to ask them if you can read the card, or ask a jjudge the def of a certain card

In response to your Book of Moon example. You are in fact allowed to check the ATK or DEF of the card and its effect. It's considered public knowledge at that point. If this happened at a tournament I was judging at; either both players must agree to checking the card in question (by either flipping the card over or googling it) or have a judge confirm the card's ATK/DEF and/or effect. in the rules it say you gotta suffle ur deck if u look in ur decki say so look here A searcher is any card allows you to see the entire Main Deck to look for a card(s) from it. When an effect requires you to search for a card of a specific type in your Deck, then you must reveal the card to your opponent; and if you have none left in your Deck, then you must reveal your Deck to your opponent. After every “search”, the Deck must be shuffled (in case of searching for a card to place on the top or the bottom of the Deck, the Deck is shuffled before placing the card). so it say MUST BE SHUFFED

on your book of moon comment, i actually asked one of the older judges at a regional who said that if a monster is flipped face down with book of moon his stats are considered public knowledge and you can ask for a verification on stats.

i had some one say there were making sure my cards were up right because at the time i ws playing magican pendulem so i didn't run many traps and what i do is bluff so i put a spell to frighten them and he just went from top to bottom and it was my first local's so i was pritty new to the game and now i am very pi**ed off cause i came 4th

I'm not going to lie in my blue eyes deck if I see 3 cards in a cluster I take note of where they are and shuffle around that place and make deck cuts and all that extra shuffle stuff

Another thing to look out for is if their card sleeves are damaged, I once had a friend draw 2 cards on his draw phase since another card was hiding in that damaged card sleeve. I know it's rare for this to happen but just check when you shuffle your opponent's deck.
