Hey Everyone! Hope you're enjoying this video drawing on my experience and background that goes way beyond my usual body language stuff. A few notes Edit: there have been many developments since I posted this video. For those asking, yes I am aware that an employee was fired for stealing 15k from Robbi’s stack. The reason I didn’t mention it in the video is because my video was released 2 days before they caught the guy, nobody knew that at the time I made this video. I may do a follow up video once more information comes out as I believe we haven’t heard anywhere near the end of this. Thank you to those who have expressed your disagreements with respect, I love that 😊 1) I'm getting a lot of questions about her giving the money back. I didn't analyze that because there is nothing to analyze, they both have different version of how that went down, I think it's a question of perspective rather than one of them lying. However, if people are going to jump on calling it an admission of guilt (and it can be), please consider the implication of the accusation. It takes a real conscience-less scumbag to cheat, does that sound like someone who would suddenly decide to have a conscience and make things right? People who cheat, by definition, don't do the right thing, so it doesn't quite add up. And I don't think "well, maybe she knew it was too suspicious so she gave it back to get the heat off her" is a good argument, because it didn't make it any less suspicious, nor would anyone think it would reasonably. Again, not saying she didn’t cheat for sure. I just don’t believe this is the epitome of evidence that she did. 2) I said in the beginning she's a professional player, I didn't mean that she's a pro in the "she plays in tournaments" sense, I meant it in the literal, a person who makes money doing something, sense. 3) A question I got a few times is: IF she has a confederate with a thumper, why would they give a green light on this one considering the 53% (in Garrett's favor) odds here. I get how this would be confusing and it comes down to equity. If i told you to bet 5$ for a 47% chance to win 3 million, wouldn't you gladly do it? The way to calculate whether to go in on a hand is not always about having the better hand, it's also about the size of the pot and your odds. 47% is more than good enough to roll the dice on this one. In other words, IF YOU KNEW HIS HAND, the right thing to do WOULD BE to call his all in. 4) A few people have pointed out that her eyebrows went up at the end of the hand and are assuming this means she was surprised. It's a great catch and a possible interpretation but just as often as surprise, eyebrows up can indicate a display of innocence and seeking approval, (think of someone saying "I swear it wasn't me," it would be very rare to see this with eyebrows down.) So as much as it's a great note, it doesn't necessarily mean it's surprise. thanks for watching :)

Haha thanks so much but I can assure you the specific topic of cheating or trickery is the only field in which I have an experience advantage over them. This is my wheelhouse, it won’t always be this way. As for the synchronicity: pure coïncidence. @@TheBehavioralArts I watched both too, and you all bring something different to the table 👏🏻 I thoroughly enjoyed your additional analysis of cards, especially the draw from the bottom of the deck - that was so fast I don't think I'd ever spot it without your grip analysis. I'm glad that you spoke about women having an additional level of reading body language, and I think a lot of her own body language would be very familiar to other women - I certainly recognised it in a way I don't think that many men can. Perhaps her lack of celebration is because she recognises instantly that it's not going to go down well - I'd immediately recognise his fury and react accordingly too!

@@TheBehavioralArts hey Spidey, there's been crazy evidence revealed recently about this case. As close to a smoking gun imo. Almost everyone who thought she was innocent are now thinking she's cheated. You should either do a video or just look into yourself. It's wild. The main discovery was Bryan. He was caught on camera (by the live at the bike owners that are doing the investigation) taking 15K chips off Robbi stack after the famous hand. Bryan is the only person that can see the whole cards live on the production team. He recently blocked the camera view in his production space with a cabinet. He said it was bc he needed more space. It was found he has a massive criminal history background and so much more. He was fired immediately. He also deleted his twitter. He had interesting tweets about inquiring how to cheat in chess several weeks ago (thumper). Anyways there's more evidence. If you have time please check it out!

I remember when my parents asked me a presumptive question… it was back when I wasn’t allowed to drive out of our hometown & they presented me with a picture of my car not stopping for to pay a toll at the nearby city. They already had called my sister (who used to borrow my car when she visited from living abroad) who confirmed she had taken it & thought I had a pass… but they used it to see if I’ve ever gotten away w/ it before. First gave them a hard no, then saw the ticket/picture & literally said “maybe someone stole my car & returned it? Uhhhh maybe I slept drove?” And they burst out laughing because they knew I would’ve prepared a better lie 😅

I struggle with the "Is there any reason..." question here. In this case she was already accused of cheating by someone being there that day. The correct answer would be "Sure!" irrespective of guilty or not. With "He already accused me of cheating," or "We wouldn't have this sort of conversation if not" as followup if necessary. Twisting it and asking if "someone other ..." or "some prove...." looks more convincing.

ok, so that's what has always bothered me about behavior analysis. I get very nervous under scrutiny, even when I'm innocent. You confirm that behaviors of deception are essentially behaviors of stress. More than once I've had someone accuse me of lying when I wasn't, because I "behave" guilty. So my question is, how do you decide whether someone is being deceptive or is just feeling very stressed? If both kinds of people display the same behaviors, how can you differentiate between the two?

Her vibe seems very intuition based, even despite her coaching. Sometimes, it's not skill. Sometimes it's "sheer dumb luck". I feel like she didn't react when she saw her cards, because she too was experiencing a "freeze, fight, flight" thing as well and was taking a moment to let it all sink in.

I've played poker, sometimes it fun to bluff with a naff hand, the thrill of the win is always greater. I think there is a chance she knew he was bluffing so it was a pure gamble of who had the highest card. I think its sad that the guys at the table gave her such a hard time about it. If they are all playing safe that is on them, its easier to win at bluffing if you know everyone else is playing safe. In another interview she said he threw a 2yrs tantrum so she gave him back his money, so he would return to the table to complete the game. He is the one that should be embarrassed by the poor playing. It's shocking that a women should be made to feel bad at winning at a game. She won the bluff, that is the game. If it was just a card game then show your hand and don't gamble, play snap or other childish game. Poker face was invented due to the bluff nature of poker.

The question I have is does the Hustler Casino vet their poker players on this high stakes, televised games. They had several top pros at this game including Phil Ivey. Surely they don't allow players with little to no poker skill enter this game. I doubt it. It hurts Hustler's reputation. It needs to have the reputation for good players, with a large bankroll, that do not cheat. Pro players do not want to play against someone who is doing nonsensical plays. Her move is something you might see in a $2/$5 home game. But not in a game for well over $100,000. Great point if she truly read Garrett to believe her Jack Four was good, I would have thought she would have celebrated. Extremely tough call. "I made it, I got you!" It is much different to bluff all in, than to call all in. When Garrett bluffed all in, he had to be to thinking, she is weak. A pro is not calling Garrett with a weak hand. So he could win that way. He could also likely win if he hit his straight, or his flush. The only hands he would certainly lose to would be pocket 3s, pocket 9s, 10/9, pocket 10's and 10/3. Otherwise, he still had outs. Sure enough, his read was correct, she was VERY weak. When she calls him, her only out is if somehow, someway, her Jack high beats his hand.

For those of us who think that Robbi could not have possibly made such a serious mistake of forgetfulness-regarding which hole cards she was dealt-here is something to consider: Human beings are very strange creatures . . . They make mistakes in certain situations that you and I-and most people-would view as almost impossible to make. ¿For example, could you ever imagine that a Major League Baseball player-in the middle of a regular-season professional baseball game; and in front of, literally, thousands of fans-could ever forget that he was actually in a baseball stadium (he was not injured in any way) . . . and that this baseball player then proceeded to drop his pants in front of those same thousands of fans? Well, here is the link to a brief video clip-it's only 1 minute, 25 seconds in length-of Steve Lyons, a Major League Baseball player for the Chicago White Sox, forgetting that he is in a baseball stadium. This amazing thing happened in a game on 16 July 1990, against Detroit. The actual scene of his funny forgetfulness is at the 24-second mark: *ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QLIpmACBq1g.html* - He proceeds to take off his pants . . . - His underwear is clearly visible . . . - He realizes what he just did . . . - He pulls up his pants . . . - He laughs very sheepishly at his mistake. Ya' just gotta love him in this moment. - The thousands of fans love it. I believe that Robbi-in her poker game-could have easily made such a mistake of embarrassing forgetfulness.

When I'm bored, in a friendly poker game, I usually have the tendency to put all in to finish the game, for me, more faster. And when she saw that she has won she was so surprised and some how disappointed that she didn't celebrated. Probably this attitude don't make sense because she must probably could have lost a lot of money, but I understand her because I could have done the same.

I really love your videos!! I don’t even play poker, and I had never even heard of this incident, and still you got my attention! Side note- My favourite thing about you is when you feel very confident in an analysis or opinion that lands you confidently on one specific side, because it is so rare. You are always very objective and don’t often take an overall stance or position on something. So when it does happen, it’s cool to see. (Even if you still underline it by saying you “can’t say with certainty”.) I hope what I’m trying to say makes sense. Thanks Spidey!

As a poker player, sometimes you make stupid plays, or someone else does, and you get Lucky. Luck still plays a part in poker.( Look at the bad beats, losing a hand with 4 aces, to a royal flush). Both were bluffing, and she may have sensed his weakness despite the all-in. Bluff against bluff, but she was willing to make the call. She may have been shocked she won, hence the lack of celebration. That "whoa, I got away with it" feeling. And embarrassment, knowing she played poorly & won.

I notice that when you demonstrate rifling the cards to check for marks, you aren't looking straight down on the cards but at a sharp angle from the side. I have a degree in graphic design (before computers). I know nothing about poker, but i loved this analysis. Probably one of my favorites. I remember last year when your deck came out, during a livestream, someone asked if the cards were marked. You just flipped through them like it was nothing, because you weren't hiding anything. I remember thinking thay maybe there were bumps like that could be felt and read through touch. My hands aren't that small but I still can't hold the deck in the traditional grip for bottom deals. Erik Tait was talking about bottom deal last week and I asked about tips for how to hold the deck. He suggested using the middle finger at the corner like you showed in your video. I don't really understand what is going on in the game but I could understand her maybe mixing up which cards she had. But at a pro game it's hard to believe. I remember in some of your other analysis that there is a thing about people sometimes smile when they feel like they get away with a lie. Of there was ever a good moment to celebrate that it would be when winning a hand like that. Seems like a 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' moment

Whether or not she actually cheated, it was a stressful situation. In her shoes, I (a Chandler Bing type of person myself) probably would have resorted to humor too. I think her answer was quite clever. It allowed her to: - release the tension - claim her innocence - express that she's supportive of the investigation - make fun of the accusations throught absurd humor. If she intended to distract from the allegations, it would have been easier to simply decline the interview.

Fantastic analysis! Question: Garrett was a 53% favorite when he went all in. Is calling an all in when you are a 47% dog the play that someone stealing the card reader signal would have her get involved in knowing there are many more hands to play?
@TheBehavioralArts
@TheBehavioralArts 2 года назад
This is the best question anyone can ask and I’ve been stuck in it since the moment I saw it. So the only thing that matters isn’t 53% vs 47%. It’s also the equity. In other words; would you bet 1$ for a 5 million dollar pot, even if your odds were 2%? Yes you would. The person signaling her would have to understand equity because in this case, 47% is good enough statistically to go in. So it really depends. Also keep in mind that the numbers we see on tv take into account the cards the other players had. In this case they skew the odds in Garrett’s favor because we know there are still a lot of clubs out there. So again: really depends on how the interception is working and who’s sending the signal 😊

Spidey, question: Were you able to watch or get info about previous hands? Was she possibly on tilt as a newer player in a big game she’s not used to playing in? That could explain her weird playing, and even her flat affect after winning. She plausibly could hardly believe she won and felt some guilt for having to show her awful cards. Happened to me in my first bigger game, though my cards weren’t quite as bad. I was embarrassed to show my winning cards, and the “big guy” at the table grabbed a dinner button out of the dealer’s tray, slammed it on the table and stormed away super mad. That hand basically cleared everyone of their chips and broke up the game. I needed a security escort to my vehicle afterwards and was discreetly advised not to return to that location again. I had only called until the river when I happened to hit an inside straight… then went all in but nobody believed I had anything so they all called with their pairs and one with trips. I had no business being in the hand and was almost dissociative that whole game; I was so intimidated! I desperately wanted to leave, determined to just play one last hand, and then happened to take everyone’s money. Terrible playing, and many lessons learned! I looked like a deer in the headlights and made NO sense trying to explain myself. Robbie’s flat effect and weird comments look like how I felt!

My roommate is Spidey’s good friend, and once this hand happened he called me about my opinion on it because I’ve been playing poker for 8 years. My original point of view was that she must be cheating, because it seems like the only way she can make this call profitably, would be if she knew Garrett’s hand. Which by any way of logic or reasoning is quite impossible to pull off, because Garrett could often be bluffing with a better hand than her. After watching many videos of other poker pros and speaking to Spidey for a few days, my opinion changed torwards her just making an atrocious call rather than cheating, although I’m pretty 60/40 on the subject. Yes, she is knew to the high stakes, and is apparently backed by her boyfriend at the table. It was only her 3rd time on the stream by the way. She had also made some extremely speculative/awful plays in other spots in previous sessions also, which do go in her favor of explaining the awful call. However, her original explanations as to why she calls changes quite often, and frankly don’t make any sense. This casts more suspicion on her, but I ultimately believe that she was just extremely nervous and actually just a genuinely bad poker player that she had no proper way to really justify her call. She had a feeling that Garrett was bluffing, but failed to realize she didn’t even beat some of his bluffs. So to anyone who plays poker, the call seems insanely suspicious, but I think it’s just an extremely rare scenario of a very poor poker player somehow playing at such a high stake.

Question from someone who knows zero about poker (and you'll most likely be able to tell): If everyone in the poker world knows and agree that that would be a ridiculous play and no one would make it, couldn't that make it a more convincing bluff? It was a bad gamble that no one would ever make. Players make the wrong play and win through chance regularly, especially when the river card hasn't been dealt. And cheating isn't suspected. It's part of the game. This was different. If she had truly believed she held a three and truly believed he missed a draw and had nothing and was bluffing she could have called hoping her reads were correct and that a measly pair of threes could actually be the better hand at showdown. But she didn't make a hand and her unmade hand would lose to many failed draws that he might have been holding. It was necessary to know or have confidence that both of his hole cards were not just unpaired by the board but were even lower than hers.

She wasn't necessarily saying she thought she had a hand without a three. Dude asks her if she has pocket threes, she says "no" and they kinda talk over each other while he then asks more generally if she had a 3 in her hand. She's obviously stressed out of her ass here even if she is cheating, on top of being distracted, so it's perfectly plausible that she's not really listening to him and doesn't realize he's changed the question (drastically changed it in terms of meaning, but rather subtly in terms of words). So she keeps saying "no (I don't have [pocket] threes.)" That exchange isn't remotely a smoking gun. As someone mentioned, she could've been looking at her hand robotically, as a tic of sorts, or even just as a fake (i.e. to sell a flush draw on a two-tone board and try to gauge Garrett's reaction to her checking repeatedly). Or she could've just been legitimately checking the suits to see if she was blocking any likely flush draws, without paying attention to the values. Still not a smoking gun against her. This video does a great job laying out the case against her cheating, but IMHO anyone who claims to be certain either way is full of shit. 60/40 sounds about right. Neither story really makes perfect sense and both require pretty wild assumptions and leave unanswered questions. Personally I don't think she cheated, but is still hiding something, just not directly related to the results of the hand. Something that maybe had her stressed and unfocused enough to ass up the hand the way she did, in a way that she'd struggle to explain her actions after the fact, the way she has. Maybe something to do with the dealer who plucked her chips. Pretty weird coincidence if it's unrelated, but hey, coincidences do happen. Unless there are more developments I doubt any of us will ever know for sure, and the best any of us can do is speculate & hypothesize based on very tenuous evidence.

This clip and your analysis are all I know about this situation, however, I do have an opinion based on what I saw. I don't play poker much, but my husband does and we watch it together on tv. (I'm usually people watching because I'm fascinated with the machinations to hide tells. Lol) He HATES playing with me (or anyone else who is not an experienced player) because I don't do what's expected. I don't calculate pot odds, I'll randomly call for the wrong reason, I'll take a shot with pocket twos just for grins (and to aggravate him), I bid way too much or too little for the situation, etc. I'm usually not paying close attention, chatting, having a glass of wine, etc., so I am not playing with the logic expected given a specific situation. Even playing very badly, anyone can get lucky and win a hand with a stupid play. Taking a bad beat pisses him off more than anything. But I simply don't care if I win and that drives him insane. Being a woman who works in a male dominated field, I'll go out of my way to not be seen as a "dumb woman" in my professional environment. I don't lie, but I won't necessarily volunteer that I had a really stupid thought rolling around in my head that never made it past my lips. Why would I? AND ... I have ADD. I am a person who simply does not retain numbers for more than a burst of time. If you tell me a phone number and I can't write it down immediately, I have to repeat it out loud over and over, uninterrupted, until I can record it. And then it still may be wrong. I would be that person rechecking my hand over and over because I forgot just that quickly. I also play with my jewelry, my hands are always busy - I keep Silly Putty on my desk - I am animated and would literally have an, "Oh sh*t!" moment much earlier than you were looking for it, when I realized I made a terrible call. I don't know if she cheated or not - as you pointed out, it certainly doesn't seem like the optimal time to pull that stunt - but I 100% understand the fidgeting, the rechecking of her hand, touching her face, etc. Last point ... I would also not be celebrating a win I got from sheer luck and a stupid call that would ultimately hurt my reputation if I'm trying to be taken seriously. She probably feels stupid. I find no celebration in winning without exercising sound logic and outplaying the other person. And I'm going to guess that her backtracking about what she had in her hand may be due to "If I keep them guessing, they won't realize I won because I screwed up," logic. Anyway ... is that her or just me? I can only speak for myself, of course, but I absolutely can identify with all of her behaviors with no nefarious reasons at all. I'm a very smart, but fidgety, ADD woman who has difficulty with retaining numbers who would not celebrate a win gained in that manner. I would feel stupid and not want to admit to my whole professional world that I won by dumb luck. That would make me an easy target going forward. (And you can't tell me all of those poker players are not analyzing every frame of this for her tells. If she fesses up to what her hand actually was and they match it with her behaviors, she's at a future disadvantage.) My somewhat rambling thoughts on this. Loved the analysis and insights!

The first thing I thought when I watched this was ADHD (I have it too). You've said everything better than I can, but the disruptive, reckless, impulsive behaviour at the time, and the comments since are all typical of my kind of behaviour (age 52, untreated so far as I was only diagnosed a few months ago). I wouldn't have thought being a professional poker player would be the best career option for people with no focus (because this isn't hyperfocus and there's a lot of distraction around her). And I don't know about you, but I find it physically impossible to lie because I cannot think before I open my mouth. There is no filter. It's so obvious that everyone I know laughs about it. So I totally agree with you. And hopefully at some point I'll be able to understand my ADHD with as much clarity as you obviously do. 🙂

This was an excellent analysis- you brought up a lot of good points like the lack of surprise in not having a 3. Even if she did have a 3, calling would still be highly suspicious.

SO I watched the whole hand, and some play before and after from the stream. I have played a lot of friendly tournament and cash Poker, and online starting with free games building up to buy-in games. The casino in question has SO MANY security measures. There's a delay on the stream making collusion with commentators or 3rd parties nearly impossible. Participants are checked for devices. Cell phones are not allowed. The claims that she had device vibrations moving her chair are completely unreasonable given we'd hear on the stream AND she is tapping her foot in that one shot, which I believe is also after she folds a hand. Something else important of note: she was STAKED - she didn't buy in with her own money. The person who staked her (RIP) was not near her, nor Garrett. Logistically, it would be nearly impossible to cheat in this game! Logically, an amateur may bet/call/raise good money after bad. ESPECIALLY after losing several hands. And being staked means being more reckless with money, AND more willing to go tilt. In my OWN experience, sometimes I have bet on a missed flush or straight draw, misread my cards while needling opponents in the hand, etc. Garrett and Robbi were nearly at 50% each at the start of their face-off. Robbi was only maybe 43% to 57%. She ran it twice. I like Garrett, but he is being petty here. She gave back the money most likely because he was yelling at her in public (off-camera but still audible), and it was an attempt to de-escalate the situation. He should never have accused her of cheating, demanded "his" money back, or failed to consider other possibilities. He plays strategy, while she is playing with emotion. She got got multiple times on her emotion. IMO it's obvious because I unintentionally sabotage myself when I get bored. I talk shit at the wrong times in the wrong ways sometimes. And I'd be far less composed if someone accused me of cheating, but if someone else staked me with excess resources, I may just give them what they want to get them to stop accusing me of things I wasn't doing. The commentator did not help the situation. She wouldn't admit if she misread her hand in the middle of the effing game. You play that off!!! She's not super likeable for me, but I don't believe she cheated. There is zero evidence to support that she did cheat, and she plays like an amateur.

This was so much fun! I am not a gambler and know very little about card playing. But just from the behavior that you analyzed, I agree that this looks more like she didn’t cheat. She made a super risky decision, and this time it paid off. I think her expressions at the end indicate an “oh my God, did I really just take this chance and it paid off”. Like feeling such relief but trying to look like it was her skills. Love your analysis and showing us the tricks we wouldn’t normally see or know about.

Agree! And I also think the reason she didn't "celebrate" was that it was pretty clear to her that it was just luck and she shouldn't have won. That would have been my reaction too in a scenario like that.

Could the excessive face touching have been a physical response to a realization by her she had just dodged a bullet having played so poorly in retrospect?

@The Behavioral Arts I see it also as her being unsure she won. I don't know pro poker and I'm sure she knew that she won after a moment of looking but as she was still evaluating the cards is when people began reacting and she swapped over to realize she won. In her next moments she "rubs" it in saying she read his tells but that's more of a bluff to try and convince the table she was more capable than she saw herself in the moment.

I'm 100% agree with you. I will aproach this thing more from the poker side. If she knew what cards Garrett had, there is no way she just goes all in on the turn, Garrett had a ton of outs at this point. And even if she marked cards, there is no way she can tell what the next card is because there is a burner card above the river card. There is no way if you cheating, you choosing a 50/50 situation.
@relaxationmeditationsleep2934
Same thought here. I am a professional poker player and I would ALWAYS use my unfair advantage to push all in myself when I know my opponent does not have a strong hand and cannot call. This way I have no showdown, NO RISK and I can ALWAYS justify my all in with my reading skills.

For the first half of the hand she thought she had a j3. At the point she realized she had a j4, she decided she had to represent a J3 or get ridiculed out of the circuit. And then she actually won. I was surprised you didn’t talk about her eyebrow lift on the card reveal. She was surprised she beat him. Everything afterwards is trying to parlay herself to a more intimidating position for future tournaments

I completely agree with this and it explains the situation very well. There are a lot of things I didn’t talk about due to the fact that I didn’t want the video to be 8 hours long 😆. Eyebrow raising can be surprise it can also be seeking approval and showing innocence. So even if she was cheating it wouldn’t be out of place 😊 but I agree with you, she was confused and surprised

@@TheBehavioralArts yes and nose wrinkle was disgust/ negative over winning the wrong way. She *really* wanted 33 over Ax, though knew the bottom straight flush draw was out there. She "blocked" the upper (kq, q8) with the J. Not 87 76.

"At the point she realized she had a j4, she decided she had to represent a J3 or get ridiculed out of the circuit" I thought bluffing was the whole point of poker? (Heads up, I know NOTHING about this game)
@bpc610
@bpc610 2 года назад
@@itsafunnyoldworld there was no more bluffing as the other player was all in. But you're onto something. There are many reasons to misrepresent especially that night when play was going to continue. If Garrett had continued to play (this assumes he hadn't gone to 100% cheating), all kinds of talk from Robbi might be too get in his head. Make him think she would come after him light again, whatever.

With the new evidence discovered it looks like the behaviourist panel was incorrect with there read on Robbi being innocent (bare in mind I never watched the video, I'm hearing this from others that did). I'm a poker player and my take from the start was she's cheating though I wasn't certain. My bias is that I never seen or heard of a hand like this before (unless cheating was involved), but the lying and constant changing of her story had me believe somethings not right. Anyways, much love Spidey!

Just to add for no reason, during that livestream Andy (a really good poker player. Garret and Andy are the best at that table and it's not even close) said, if I can remember, something like "what just happened? I never seen a poker hand like this before". Garret then says "but that's not a poker hand". Even though I feel his pain, I laughed out loud so hard bc of the way he says it and that fact that I know from being a poker player that it's true. Call me wierd, but that clip is hilarious imo

My first intuition after learning about this case was the same, men play this game very rationally and calculated and they don't understand a beginners female logic. Its like when you box with a left-handed person or an absolute beginner, that doesn't move in predictable ways. So you're stunned how they could deliver a hit to you, because you are used to people fighting you a certain way.

Love the video! I think the root of the problem is when someone doesn’t understand the rules fully or fundamentals, that doesn’t mix with players who do and creates these hands that should be really good or really boring but do the opposite because one person missed a small detail that changed the outcome of the game. As a new player to poker this happens to me occasionally where I forget a certain rule that causes me to play a way that doesn’t match my hand or a bluff. It just happens less often at these big tables with more experienced players where all the cameras are pointing. At this point I feel she’s making what she can out of a fortunate error when she says she just outread him. It’s a way better choice than saying the only reason the hand was won was because she missed something, after all it’s a game involving strategies, it’s best for her to appear as a strong player. Just my take but either way interesting to see

He mentions her touching her face and it being stress or deception, but you know what else makes your face warm, embarrassment. My first take when I saw her reaction is surprise and embarrassment and she definitely was trying to hide it, and when you are trying to hide something I can see how that could make you look guilty.

Great point. Ultimately we can never identify the cause of the stress, just that there is stress. The critical thinking and digging deeper is essential
