Seriously that isn’t mentioned enough. Emotional damage, pregnancy, and other STDs are oft mentioned. But people don’t consider HIV enough. You can survive it now, but only through toxic drugs that shorten one’s lifespan, as you suffer a condition that makes you undateable and un-wedd-able for all intents and purposes,
Maybe.. Maybe not. Since im back to this one for the second listen, the most I listened shes guilty of being easily manipulated and extremely stupid, and of course the cheating. But shes not evil. In fact her seeming most earnest desire was to apologize and ask for forgiveness. Jake was objectively evil. I doubt his son was much better seeing whom he was raised by, and the lacking of anyone else around to counter such an influence. Tim was a great character for how his character handled things story wise. But again with the ending the lone super natural bit of the story- She was pushing him to happy. So perhaps she deserved that bit of compassion. Perhaps not, but her character certainly didn't deserve what happened to her. Jake on the other hand.. he got off easy. Far to easy.
What's worst is that she was working as a teacher. Tim never even once called her or suspected that she might that wild party-girl type, but rather a "Faithful, loving wife." I guess something within her just waited for an opportunity to break out.
This is fiction of course, but elements of it are true and regularly committed by corrupt women and weak willed arrogant men. Her very first mistake was laying naked in that tent, husband nowhere around. But she did that for a reason, even then it was in her heart. Tim may have forgiven her, but unless she asks Jesus to forgive her, she is lost for eternity.
Such a sad day when a teacher learns that hormones isn't spelled whor.e moans. Welp, you definitely failed that test. Guess teachers also should be paying attention to the zex education lessons.

But then you relisten to it and realize Tim had a voice recorder in her bag and a call-recording app on her phone the entire time. Regardless, it's definitely fiction, a well-written one, but very cheesy too. Life very rarely works this well in favor of one individual, especially the underdog. Seems more like a wet dream of someone that got cheated on. Especially with the ending, where Jake and Candy both end up with their brains blown.
This story was all over the place. The characterizations of Candy, Jake and Bernice at the end were frankly bizarre. Like, how does a chaste wife turn into a gang-bang ho bag after one sexual encounter? The author should have toned that down, like let Jake blackmail her and share her with his friends or something sure, but there was no ramp up to the debauchery. Also, for Jake - what the hell was he thinking? I don't see how he thought he was going to control that situation at all or really, how does someone who runs a company capable of writing a million dollar check not understand how bad it is to violate a restraining order, which they would have gotten put in place because of the recorded threats. I mean, he wasn't just arrogant, he was comically stupid. I wish he had been more cunning or something and that Tim had to work to do him in, but he just did it all to himself. Finally, Bernice's conversation after just finding out her daughter died was too much. Like, who says "She's in a better place now" to themselves immediately after finding out their kid was murdered? Over all, the story was a bit too abrupt which is funny because it was 47 minutes long, but the story was too complicated I guess to do well within that time frame without a lot of editing. Finally, I didn't like the ending where everyone dies - it felt totally unnecessary, I mean you already gave them all HIV. Finally, there is a big loop hole here in the plot as well - Tim had Jake on recording threatening Candy to do whatever he says or he'd ruin her with the photos/videos. That's blackmail. He could have turned that evidence over to Candy and given her his lawyers number and she could have absolutely ruined Jake in both criminal and civil court. I think that would have been a better story in a lot of ways, to see him get double bent over and lose everything. I would have finished it off with Jake applying for a job at Tim's company only to find out that Tim was his new boss or something hilarious like that. I like stories that finish off on a more positive note for the spouse who got cheated on and this one felt sort of mediocre. There should have been at least one scene of Tim lording it over Jake how he ruined him. Y'know what I mean?
I said it before and I will say again, IT’S EASIER AND SAFER TO STAY LOYAL, IT’S TOO HARD AND DANGEROUS TO CHEAT (HIV) is the loyalty test and she obviously FAILED.
I'm not sure if this was the AI's doing or not, I really enjoyed this story! It was sad about how things turned out but the story was good (in my opinion). There were many things that took place in this story that we can learn from.
Thats what i dont understand about the hookup culture in the west not using condoms. Here we use it even blackout drunk. You can now live longer with the new meds ,but who wants yo be date someone HIV positive. That 1% chance to catch it is too scary.

Yeah, I got the same question too. Its even weirder when its a gf/bf relationship. I mean....she obviously doesnt love him enough that she open her legs for other dude. The only explanation I could come up with is that cheater wanna have their cake n eat it too. Since they lost their cake, they got sad. Also, cheater n narcist mindset are similar.
