When schools started using more MCQs instead of essays, people lost their ability to think critically and to present and defend ideas effectively. When autocorrect software was rolled out to word processors and phones, people lost their ability to spell without it. When smartphones with maps appeared about 15 years ago, people lost their ability to remember maps and directions and started to need their phones to go pretty much anywhere. Though it might well eventually make society more efficient and productive as a whole, ChatGPT is not looking to me like a net good for human minds. It is a powerful tool that risks creating a generation of people who don’t know how to think.
This is IMO an amazing example of memorization versus deduction... Recently in our Supreme Court, judge Jackson says the statute is all about cleaning up the Internet... "Congress is trying to immunize those platforms that are taking down [offensive material], that are doing things to try to clean up the Internet". That came from the logic-free zone between her ears. If they were so intent on cleaning up the Internet, they would PENALIZE, not immunize, Internet platforms for not taking down offensive content. No doubt she is able to memorize volumes of text. Too bad she can't think.
Lol ppl are just admitting that none of their interactions or school work is genuine. Ppl seriously see reality as nothing more than an inconvenience now.
Why does it need to be dealt with? In the real world, everybody researches by looking up the answer and does not rely purely on memory. The classroom exam is a false reality and often useless.
Are we pretending that students can't pretend to be too afraid of Covid that they can't show up for exams? Of course they are using it for exams as well as homework.
Students SHOULD learn how to use AI. It's part of the future. ChatGPT is just the new calculator. Any student who doesn't learn how to use AI will be at a disadvantage in life.
That one guy, "I see them use it on homework assignments, and also sometimes for essays on exams." That means they use it ALL the time as Chat GPT can't answer a multiple choice question for you.
The teacher job is not dead yet, but it has become much, much worse in just a few weeks. Now, me and my colleagues are quickly becoming relegated to the role of observant as the students "self-teach" themselves. Which obviously doesn't work well at all, as the students are depriving themselves of many tasks that are good for the brain by relying on chatGPT. The quality of the job teaching has degraded at an impressive speed "thanks" to A.I. (it wasn't that great before, too!). I'm not on the streets yet, but that might be coming if the government starts thinking that this "AI self teaching" could allow it to cut the number of teachers and save money. ...And considering that they invented the concept of "inverted classroom" (= having the student self-teach without teacher, as much as possible) even before AI came along, I sadly think it's just a matter of time before they go there, and fire a lot of us. ...Thank you for making our life worse, f***ing A.I. technicians who release "disruptive technologies" without caring about anyone else but their wallet!
?? It’s already happening. Just the other day a friend of mine wrote an essay for school that was input on ChatGPS. He read the books, but he also works at the same time and is very intelligent, so it was a great help for him that someone helped him out with writing his essay. And he’s a college student.
We need to get rid of this AI system immediately it is evil. Instead come to Christ. Romans 3:24-25, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Please accept Salvation now. Christ is all you need he will give you the acceptance you want.
@@Swede.from.Boston Jesus Christ is our Acceptance. People look for Acceptance in all the wrong places. We come to Christ for our needs. Read Colossians 2:10.
Even before ChatGPT there were cheating "study" sites that you could copy the correct answers or exams. There also was a "Special Folder" for kids that were in certain groups and fraternities. These also were materials used for cheating. Students would simply reword the answers or add a bit more content. I know a relative said that he knows at least 75%, and probably over 90% of students cheated using these methods when he was in College.
Are we suprised? Used to be if one was called a liar, a thief, or a cheater, people were prepared to fight to keep their honor intact. Society now calls that type of person a barbarian or a schmuck. No one even bats an eye when caught in a lie anymore. It's expected now. We either see thieves as people trying to survive or if they are wealthy as just another means to being successful. Think were in the process of redefining cheating. In my day a man competing against women in sports would be called cheating. Apparently having someone or something else answer questions for you in school isn't frowned upon either. But politicians and sports players and the very wealthy, kids saw them getting away with stuff all the time. They were still admired and still wealthy so hey why not. We decided parenting should be left to daycare and teachers and sent both parents into the work force. So who had the most influence over shaping children's values and beliefs? But hey that had fashionable clothes and high tech toys as the trade off!
@@manfredworner8528 or you’re just a generation hating clown who’s too ignorant to explain why you actually hate them lol definitely going with door #2 on this one
Microsoft is about to release the new version of the Office package which is ChatGTP driven. In the promotion video demonstrates all information is engineered to the extent humans don't write a sentence (only click the 'how does the modification make you FEEL' button). Cognitive/process/understanding is openly modified line by line, number by number and all graphics. Approaching 30 yrs functional illiteracy + math incompetency has been unchanged in the education system (65-87% nation and age wide). What is being released in public process will drive ultimate brain incompetency across all generations.
It never ceases to amaze me how/why people buy these products? I guess they want to be part of the cool look at what I got group. I have no desire to have this crap in my home or my life.
John 3:16 - King James Version (KJV 1900) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
ChatGPT merely looks up all the information on the internet, processes it and uses its own words, connects all the information, similar to what human beings already do when they research a subject, connect the information and processes it into a report.
Digital ouija board....don't know why you people use it in your homes like it is any different. Good luck to all of you who have invited this thing in. "Oh it's a computer program you nutter", keep thinking that ppl lol. Maybe y'all should ask it and see what it tells you it is.
Cool kids with seemingly ok lives..even under Binden (nobody wants to be there) kids are still learning and being thoughtful. I'm praying America isn't lost yet. 🙏 take care from a nobody dad over the pond in UK 🇬🇧 Love ya America.
I plan to use ai for assistance writing several new projects. I have deep knowledge in my areas and it is nice to have ai attempt to answer questions and put together concepts. Ai is usually 90% correct and the way I would write it myself. I then direct the changers in the answered and flow of info and get a few hours work in 20 minutes. Also ai proof reads my typed work and checks for errors. Love it.
