I imagine we will be seeing some kinda of space station dlc.. possibly a capital ship one.. Trouble is that the game doesnt really sell the fantasy of traveling through space very well atm

@@MaMastoast considering the other kinds of DLC released in the past I'm inclined to agree. However regarding your last statement honestly it's not exactly the easiest thing to develop. Currently we have a few major space exploration games and pretty much all of them had problems on launch or are still plagued with problems. Elite dangerous, no man's sky, Star citizen.... I don't know if starfield exactly counts within the same genre but it's clear it's trying to at least attempt it in somewhat of an accessible way something akin to no Man's sky...

@@jaybrielrosales9191 To me its not so much the seamlessness of landing on a planet, that will never happen in starfield, as its probably impossible on engine.. its that your spaceship should feel like a vehicle rather than a teleporter. In the X series they have warp gates connecting neighbouring sectors of space... That way things location in space actually matter and you use your spaceship for actual travel rather than simply a loading screen. Its a rather hollow feeling to have spent hours on designing a spaceship and then not really feeling like it does anything.

@@MaMastoast and even then some aspects of the design menu feels lacking. So I can place rooms but I can't actually see where the doors will be placed or any of the interior layout? I mean having prefabs is nice but if I can't even choose where certain things go it honestly sometimes makes the ship feel like a labyrinth at times

@@MaMastoast let alone the fact that you can't even see the interior until after you finalized building it. That potentially mean spending money on a manufacturer that you may not even like

Yeah i do wish we had more customization like to build the X wing or other awesome Space ships.

I'm very, very much looking forward to modders getting their clever little cheeto dusty fingers into custom ship assets

@@ZephyrusAsmodeus There's already a mod where you can use spaceport parts for the ship, I haven't used it yet but I heard it unlockes hundreds of new structures.

You're asking for a space fighter jet, it's not a space ship cause it's too small. You can't even stand inside those things, you just sit in the cockpit while inside, and stand to get in or out. But I get what you're saying, it's a shame they don't allow space fighter jets, but I'm more disappointed that the space gameplay isn't like it is in NMS. It's less exciting to build space crafts if I can't fly them immersively.

Let me guess, your main ship is a massive cargo ship Because we're all pack rats....?

I actually like the angled landing gear on a similar build. With the generator, engines, and grav drive at the back, and only the cockpit and ramp of the landing bay at the front, the ship would be hideously back heavy if the gear were central. Plus the angled gear give it a 'tentatively perched' vibe that really makes me think of the ship as a small bird.

yeah its awesome during combat, if you can keep on the enemies tale they cant really shoot back.

@@OzzieMikeGaming well done, watched it too. I can make a tiny ugly ship of 2x2x2, using the small stroud bridge, stroud side bay, and underbelly deimos docker. One nova 4 thrust gear, 2 WD 3015 engines. This little beast has 180 max speed, 1450 vanguard shield, a z-machine 4000 35 power reactor, 4 particle beam turrets, 2 vanguard missile launchers, the cheapest 23 grav jump thrust grav drive. I need a small side fuel tank and a side weapon mount, these are the only protruding from the 2x2x2 footprint.

You probably could. at the time when I built this was close to the start of my game and not everything was unlocked. Keep an eye out for a future video another tiny ship.

Yes a 1x1 hab even with just a bed would be cool. Specially for those that are playing a lone pirate haha

​@@OzzieMikeGaming Definitely. A 1x1 hab with a bed, shower, and a nav table would be perfect for a tiny exploration ship.

I was bummed by that. I thought it would have looks so cool fighting big ships.

@@OzzieMikeGaming No wuckus. I love to make ships that are minimal as humanly possible. Have a look at that double decka cockpit. I just made the sickest little nasa lookin shuttle that had every single hab (Functional) and some living space/cargo bay. It looked so tiny compared to the ships I usually make, not a single hardpoint left. It was tiiiiight. I find they look the best built this way in the game. EDIT: I used 4x habs 2 of em. All habs Nova (Except Capt(Hopetech)) Cargo and either an All in one 4x or a living hab. Next to cargo on the belly is the workshop (Perfect three size for the cockpit 3x) then behind use the 2x habs to add the rest of the utility habs. Science, Infirmary. Then a armory. Up stairs living/AIO hab then capt quarters. Behind the cap I put a personal armory and one other 2x on the other side leaving a gap. Usually this makes a perfect little setup. Try walking through it (Try to not get any ladders if you can) I put a ladder dock into the cargo bay. Station dock in the living.

@@OzzieMikeGaming I feel like you could use the DT60 (or a lower version) and put the fuel tanks on the back above that storage... Or you could keep the current engine and cut out the storage altogether for an even tinier ship

ahh yeah i see, I had already built the ship before the video. I had the Deimos 1x1 hab installed there. But when I was doing the video I saw that the NOVA looked better and matched all the other parts of the ship better. At 4:34 mark is when I went back to the original ship before then video.

@@OzzieMikeGaming Thanks! Also, the latest update of SF now allows you to decorate the inside of your ship! Now your ship can be decorated just like your bases, therefore significantly reducing the size of your ship due to not having to use workshop habs if you want a workbench. Here's my recommended changes to your ship: Replace Nova NG-6 with Taiyo Ship Bed 200 landing bay (more like entryway). This frees up room for an extra companionway, allowing you to add your decorations. Speaking of decor (actually more like adding workbenches): Lower companionway: Industrial Workbench, Spacesuit Workbench, Weapon Workbench Upper companionway: Cooking Station, Science Lab, Beds Cockpit (if there's any room): one extra Bed and a Storage Box If you want to, you can even move the cargo hold (recommended: 300CM Ballast) to the sides of the Ship Bed 200 landing bay to get rid of that (admittedly) terrible looking 100CM Ballast cargo hold that's sticking out the back of your ship Here's a helpful guide if you're getting a bit confused about the whole ship decoration thing: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6vJ9Kwertok.html Edit: Corrected grammar

ah yeah the ship was built close the start of the games, so i didn't have all the parts unlocked for A class and also this ship was built in Atlantis.
