Another very interesting presentation. Thanks for taking time to prepare, edit and upload each of your videos, particularly as doing so takes you away from your family. Once again I think your selection of music is great. I also like your open shed videos which introduce us to other aspects to farming life. I’m not a farmer but to me your crops look to be progressing well. Unfortunately, it looks like your rock crop is also doing well. May your entire family keep well and prosper.

I'm happy you're getting some rain this year. Hopefully you will have record breaking crops this year. From some of the shots of the cotton field, looks like you guys got a lot of the cotton broken up. The only way you could have done better is an old fashioned mowboard. Great update Matt and I never get tired of seeing a great crop.

Loved seeing the big 'Chickens', great video footage.. Memories of them running wild in my teen years.. and at a farm an Uncle had purchased near Titybong. Previous owner had one that stayed at the farm.. it was like a flaming guard dog.. I remember bolting to the machinery shed with it chasing me then the pair of us circling about an Inter tractor till I could get ahead of it and climb up.. fierce mongrels when you are just 10 or so years old. Appreciate the approximate distances too.. makes it a lot clearer for those vids when you are 'convoying' equipment.. a lot different to the mallee with its mile square grids.. rare to have to travel more than a say 5 or 6 mile to another block

Your farms are looking gorgeous, Matt!! Especially from the drone!! Over the last few days, my wife and I have driven from Melbourne to Charleville, and everyone along the way, seems to be having a great season, also!! We hope and pray that it stays that way!! We were shocked, 😮 or should I say astounded, by the infestation of feral goats 🐐 on the sides of the road, between Cobar and Cunnamulla!!! We counted four million two hundred and fifty four thousand and twenty four😮 You better hope that they are not heading towards Moree!! 😂😂 I may have exaggerated the numbers a little, but if you could count 🤔 the unseen ones in the bush, I may not be too far off the mark!!
@FailedExpert6330

I came across from Port Augusta to Cobar and up to Cunnamulla three weeks ago and I think you are at least 20 million short in your count.

Maybe an interesting talking point for here, or podcast or something. I'd be interested to hear how you feel it's working out with the lease blocks, development block, etc. When you took on the South lease block, were you concerned about the distance from home, and how has that been to farm it? When you took on development block, how long did you think it would take and how much it would cost to get it all up and productive, and how has that worked out for you?

Great tour Matt thank you. Hey over the last 3 decades in Agricultural Contracting I have seen and been up and down NZ and overseas and in my experience I would think your best results may be in the form of a power Harrow Air Seeder unit. The most consistent seed beds and germination I've ever had over the years was these units. I used every brand, 3m, 4m, 5m, 6m and a Kuhn 8m. Being able to get the tilth, leveling board and packer roller and have the seed going in at an exact depth on the same unit is an amazingly efficient unit. 8320r was my last one with an extra seed hopper on the front linkage. ?? Love to see you try it?

Two weeks in low temperature conditions is probably not enough time for weeds to die. It might take 3-5 weeks if they are not moving the chemical into their system. Things are responding to good growing conditions and good moisture. Later sown legume crops tend to be shorter for each week past their optimum sowing date. And bush chooks are doing well on the new feed.
