Checking Chinese uSDX/SDR for 12V to 5V mod

Mine don't have a jumper in either the 5v or 12v position! What does that mean? Also it has a bug in software so that if you are in Band mode and go up to 6M, since it's not supposed to do 6M, it will hang up and not go back down. Also, while I can tune down to BC band it just makes a loud noise instead of receiving anything. I wonder if those problems have been fixed?

if i make that modification then the power supply i use to power up the radio is also 5v or it remains 13.8v?thankyou and 73

I couldn't quite make out what PCB version you had. I just got mine and it says uSDR v2.5. The pictures on the ebay page shows version uSDX 2.7. Note the difference uSDR vs uSDX. Mine doesn't have the jumper on the bottom like yours. But mine has a newer looking front panel and the top of the digital board has a date code (the super tiny silkscreen) of 210922 = Sept 22, 2021. Can I ask what yours says? 73 K5RAB

Where is the RF finale out put transistors on that rig I think I burned them out and can I replace them ?

Hi! My usdx is in its way from store now and I'm collecting info through the internet while waiting. Could you please clarify information regarding final stage fets? 1) As you can see one BS170 seat on the PCB is free, what's the purpose? Famous Chinese economy? What happens if I add the fourth BS170 there? 2) If I want to switch to IRF5xx anyway do I need to remove 170s, or all of them are designed to amplify together? Stupid suggestion, yeah, but who knows... Thx and 73 de 50AM241! :)

This and a few other things about the audio quality hold me back from thinking of getting this radio. There's a fellow on the groups.io ucx list who has come up with a new main/top circuit board design that he is considering having made. By the radio, swap the board and move on, maybe. But it's still a crap shoot to me. Too bad too, 'cause it'd make a really nice POTA/SOTA/travel radio if it were less dodgy.

Непонятно, зачем было откручивать 4 винта сзади? Достаточно открутить гайку на разъёме антенны и 4 винта спереди. В поздних ревизиях этого трансивера перемычка с завода поставлена на 5 В.
