Many Mazda Bongo coolant header tanks are discoloured making it tough to see the level of coolant in the tank at a glance.
This video shows you how to check the level using a dipstick.
NOTE: If you own a 2.5 TD or V6 Bongo, ensure the cooling system is manually bled if the coolant level has dropped below the level of the lower pipe in the header tank or if you've completed any work on the system. Search on RU-vid for videos on how to do this properly, it'll save you a new engine head!

My local bongo mechanic said that there is a lip where you are checking the level so there could be coolant there when the rest of the tank is empty

Just below the second battery, there is a separate filler for it.

Wiper fluid is easy to spot under the bonnet. Bottom right I think. Plain water can be used as it only needs to clean the windscreen.

I can see my MIN and MAX lines It’s on the MIN line when cold Is that correct?
@NevinPower

Should be at max when cold. The coolant will expand past the max line when it is hot. This is normal and the tank is designed to accommodate this.

See that’s different advice I’ve heard from a Bongo forum They said put it between the two, it’s sitting just above halfway

@@TheThejpmshow that would be fine too, just don't exceed the MAX line and don't let it drop below the MIN line. If it drops below MIN air will get into the coolant circuit, this is very bad on a diesel or V6 Bongo as they don't self-bleed the air. If it's above MAX the excess coolant will be expelled from the short hose on the top of the header tank without causing any real harm. Hope that helps you understand the system so you can decide for yourself.

@@TheThejpmshow you're flying so, if I were you I'd keep it near the max and check it every now and then when cool. Enjoy!
