this movie came out at a very special time. I was fortunate to be part of a special screening of the film with the president of texas instruments. They were unavailing a technology they said would change the movie going experience called 3-chip DLP. Along with a bunch of magazine editors we witnessed this movie in this digital format presented on D-5 digitally mastered tape. excellent film even if we did spend most of the time arguing over black level comparisons 😂
@@fullmoonprepping4024The X-jet is supposed to be based on the SR-71 which should be able to outrun anything in the sky. But watch jets racing would not have been as cool as seeing Storm summoning a few whirlwinds.
@@Bobby-LeeChanning It was both. She absorbed his power which stopped him from making the fire worse, and used his power to quench whatever was already on fire.
She absorbed Pyro's power stopping him, but she also had already gotten a little of Iceman's from kissing him a few minutes earlier so she used that to put it out
33:23 Storm and Jean Grey are both high-level mutants. As a consequence, both have to always keep their emotions in check, lest they lose control and lay waste to....everything.
SPOILER Professor X is telepathic not telekinetic so he doesn’t move things with his mind also he’s paralyzed from a physical injury. Storm is holding back her powers she’s what is known as an Omega level mutant. This is a relatively short list which includes Magneto, Jean Grey and Iceman if you can believe it.
Xavier _is_ telekinetic though. Just very mildly though. If you liken telekinesis to singing, Jean Grey would be a world-renowned opera singer. And Charles is a tone-deaf person that sings quietly to himself in a basement.
Yeah, eventually she got together with Black Panther but only after she'd been with the X-Men for like 30 years.... And their marriage didn't last long, they got divorced after a year or two, because of the Avengers vs X-Men battle.
Magneto saying 'When will these people learn how to fly?' is a wink to comic book readers (or those who watched the Xmen animated series). In the comics a lot of the characters can fly and don't use the jet (e.g. Rouge). They often gained the ability to fly by various 'comic book' means instead of flight being a part of their mutant powers.
You are correct about storm for the record, the movies just don't show it. She's one of very few Omega level mutants as her powers go far beyond just "controlling weather." She has the ability to destroy the planet because what her power actually is manipulating the atmosphere itself. She is incredibly strong.
Wolverine was already a mutant before Stryker did what he did to him. He was born a mutant. When you said the mutants with Xavier are all pretty, although there are exceptions, the mutants with clearly visible physical differences, powers or abilities are probably much more discriminated against than those with invisible powers or abilities who basically look like the average human. Those who got mistreated the worse were probably really angry & therefore decided to join Magneto's cause.
Almost all movie characters are much less powerful than the comic book versions. There are a few exceptions, but 8/10 times the movies will tone things down.
Funny thing is that when we see them do a double of a character it’s sometimes a twin or in the first one they even had triplets playing the same character.
I've always preferred the X-Men over The Avengers. So happy to go through this franchise with you guys. Can't wait for you to get to the prequels! I love Bryan Cox as Striker! This is the first time I saw him in anything before the Bourne movies and Succession, which I am DYING for you guys to react to. I binged it last summer after it ended. 16:55 Iceman is also ironically Lamplighter in The Boys!❤
Kurt Wagner bka nightcrawler is a mutant of German background. He’s also a Christian. Him and Wolverine have a conversation about religion in the 90s cartoon. He influences Wolverine to pray by the end of the episode. Hes supposed to be the son of mystique and azazel( you’ll see in X-men first class)
Xavier can't use his power to move his legs because he's NOT a telekinetic. He's "only" a telepath (he can read minds). It's Jean Grey who is both a telepath and a telekinetic (move things with her mind).

I absolutely love this movie, it just peak/amazing. In this movie it does have you thinking alot if the characters are Mystique or not.. I do also love how yoy both are picking up things super quickly with the characters. And yes every character you do definitely feel sorry for 100%.
Xavier's powers are of the mind, but he's not a telekinetic. Jean can do telekinesis. Xavier can do a lot of ridiculous stuff with mental power, but he can't move things with telekinesis. Ergo he can't move his own legs. Also, Jean's issues in this movie have NOTHING to do with Cerebro. They are a completely different thing.
So in comics and in various nimated series Nightcrawler is the biological son of Mystique, and Rouge is revealed to be his adopted sister since Mystique originally is the one who takes in Rouge when she runs away from home and teaches her to us her powers, but Mystique never revealed her true forme to Rouge at that time. Rouge would eventually leave Mystique after she forced Rouge to take the powers of Carol Danvers aka Ms. Marvel (Captain Marvel as of 2012 taking the rights to the name from DC comics, Captain Marvel being the super hero name for main character in Shazam comics). Rouge was forced to hold on to Ms Marvel to long putting her in a coma for years and giving Rouge the permanent abilities of superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, durability, and flight. Eventually she would join the X-men to try to do something good with her powers.
It's interesting that you correctly determined that the actor who plays Iceman (Shawn Ashmore) is in the show The Rookie, considering it could have been his twin brother Aaron Ashmore. Aaron was on the show Smallville, a Superman origin show
Magneto trying to change the humans in the last film into mutants was just 1 of his plans. He figured if all the humans became like them then they would finally know what it feels like to be treated like a mutant, to be hunted, discriminated against etc. That doesn't mean he necessarily wants to change all the humans. That's not end game
I think Pyro can't create fire only manipulate it, so when Rogue absorbs his powers, he stops being able to manipulate it, and it dies out to the size of the initial flame. I don't think she used his powers to suppress the flames, but rather didn't use the power to continue amplifying them.
It's true that he can't create fire (that's why he uses the lighter), but I read somewhere that Rogue put the fire out because she was using Bobby's powers that she had absorbed when she kissed him. Could be wrong though, not sure if there's a confirmed answer
@@karine7430 That could be it, though I didn't think she absorbed the powers for very long unless it was an extended touch. I wonder if she will end up touching Captain Marvel when the Xmen join the MCU. She has to learn to fly eventually.
@@kennyhudson9201 That's also what I thought cause it's not super clear in the movies how long she keeps the powers, I think the only hint is when Xavier says "she absorbs their powers for a short while" which is somewhat vague, but hey, there are so many unanswered questions in this universe anyways xD. And I think it would be very interesting to see her absorb Captain Marvel's powers for sure!
You guys are the most hilarious, brilliant reactors! You pick up on SO many little details that almost no one else does & I appreciate your reactions so much! I’m so glad I found your channel!
Lol The Banshee is actually Siryn but Banshee is her father. The Blinking kid was named Bolt I believe. Pyro has been in the Deadpool and Wolverine trailers.
Not sure if someone mentioned this or not, but in the comic book "God Loves, Man Kills" the character of William Stryker was a religious leader running for a political office. He was persecuting mutants and turning the opinion of the American people against them, encouraging vigilante justice against the mustants. In the comics, Stryker had no connection with Wolverine nor with the character "Mastermind" (who they made into his son for this movie). In the comics, his son was born a mutant and he killed it as he saw it as an abomination.
In the Marvel comics, Charles Xavier lost his ability to walk after an alien (Lucifer) injured him with a huge stone block. Other story arcs have Xavier losing his ability to walk as a bad side-effect of his vast mental powers.
I don’t think it’s cerebro that affected Jean. It was Magneto’s machine to turn humans into mutants. It unleashed her full potential. (Very different to the comics, but that’s what they are going for here.)
The X-men plane is supposed to be a modified version of the SR-71 Blackbird. The modification is that it has a cabin instead of a cockpit. But of course in the case of movies we’re not actually sure what the plane is supposed to be.
