Nice video. I just cut open a jack fruit after work today for the first time. I bought it from a Asian market here in Orlando and yes I’m friends with the Orlando Gardner 😀
Paul I remember when you planted that tree and you have invested the time to see it produce! I would have a hard time getting to decide to cutting it out since none of us know how long we have to live, sometimes we pick fruits way too early and the fruit are usually harder than fully ripe! So if you get rid of it please try to find someone who could fig it out and give it a second chance
@@FruitfulTrees I just planted it, so it'll be a few years before it starts bearing fruit. I've only had jackfruit from the supermarket so I'm assuming I'll love this one.
Paul you said you thought the Cheena Jackfruit tree is about 6-7 years old. Is this the 1st. year producing. On average how long does a grafted Jackfruit tree take to produce fruit.
Good but still not as good as a pure cempedak. I used to a be a huge fan of jackfruit until I found cempedak, and then eventually marang, which to me is the perfect artocarpus fruit. Cheena still a good fruit and worth growing. Cheers
Paul you mentioned the Cheena tree is 6-7 years old. Is this the 1st year producing fruit. On average how long does a grafted Jackfruit tree take to produce fruit once planted. And that of course with proper care.
Here in Sri Lanka we have it for lunch before it ripens when it's seasoned we cut the pulp in to large peices and boil it and have it with a coconut chutney... This ripe one can be eaten with a bit of pepper and salt. The seeds can be boiled or even fried. The younger fruits can be cooked like a beef curry. All sri lankan recepies r found in youtube.
excited to have fruit from mine! I planted it 2 years ago from lara farms nursery, do you prune your trees often? the leaves look different than my cheena
@@FruitfulTrees ok thanks again for responding as usual you stand out above lots & lots & lots of other channels regarding content & response to your mant many contented subscribers.
The first time I had jackfruit and ate so much that I can not stop farting the whole day…small portions at a time because too much fibre all at once can be hard to digest
by looking at the peel/rind or skin, if the “eyes” / spindle is small, pointy (compacted) with concave form under that area most likely have too much rags rather than bulb/the meat. flat&large spindo with an convex overall surface is predicted under is full of bulbs
Nice to eat but take care of this fruit I can not eat so mush because got stomach ache but just burn it little one sa that you will not get stomach ache.thats is my idea if I set jackfruit .burn and smell the smoke.Good luck...
Just got a 'Cheena' tree from Everglades, easy shipping to CA. VERY INTERESTED to see if 'Cheena' really strikes that good balance between MILE (jackfruit) and WILD (cempedak.)
