I find it really funny how so many people comment on how that "bobble" lost it for them when referring to this routine, when in fact, the scoresheets revealed that they weren't deducted for it at all. Senior Elite just hit extremely well on the day (and after making major major changes in tumbling). Part of my theory is also that they lost raw points in tumbling because they weren't NEARLY as synchronized as in Day 1, and also many of the flyers' body positions were absolutely horrendous on Day 2.
Added more standing, I believe. Actually, if you compare their Day 1 and Day 2 routine, almost all the formations for the standing tumbling are different. :)
TheGleeVids AH! I lied haha. There were changes but not the ones I mentioned. They took out a bit of the standing and made room for running that incorporated more girls at the same time.
Kaitlyn Delaney Oh, I vaguely remember seeing the scoresheet and them getting zero deductions, though? Maybe it was just a step on the red which isn't a deduction? :)
cheer athletics are amazing!!!! panthers tumbeling is wonderful... cheetahs have amazing stunts and all the other teams are just as wonderful and i love super katz
She was on the floor day 1, she was the last pass. And Lauren was on day 2 and last pass. If you can find the videos from Panthers' worlds show off. They performed twice, once with her & then another video performing with Lauren.
it's not a crime to ask the judges what you need to change, lol. in fact, i kind of wish all of the team's coaches did it. it would probably help a lot. courtney is smart.
you guys need to understand that by Courtney going to the judges and asking what they need to improve is smart. Plus Courtney know's how to fill up the score sheet so even though it may not be huge in the wow factor, it get's more points. SE deserved to win and panthers did great too so everyone be happy and stop arguing
Most teams make small changes. If you want to win you need to be open minded about making improvements. In such an amazingly talented division that's just how it goes.
I love this routine and it's not boring at all! I don't hate SE and last time I checked Panthers were ahead of SE in day one. If CSP hadn't changed parts of their routine and everyone hit, panthers would have won. If you want to talk about how SE won go on their video!
Actually, F5's raw score would allow them to medal, however they were the only team in the top 4 to receive deductions, which placed them in 4th. Raw scores for top 4 went as follows: Senior Elite; Panthers; F5; Shooting Stars. Panthers, F5, and Stars were around .16 apart, so F5 really is still going strong, but they just have a tendency to mess up at big competitions.
Something about this Day 2 performance threw me off. Even before I knew the results, I knew they NCA curse bit them hard. Their team doubles at the start weren't as synced as they had been this entire season, the flyers held their positions better in Day 1, and everything was just a little less tight. It's a shame.
i love this routine, and i dont think it is generic and boring at all! I do think SE deserved to win, they are truly amazing, but panthers are a very good team as well. Last time i checked they are two time world champs, and they won nca and got second at worlds this year.
The only area that Panthers outscored Senior Elite was tumbling. Panthers scored around 4.6 points higher in tumbling than Senior Elite. However, Senior Elite outscored Panthers in choreography and building by around 3.1 points, and 6.46 points, respectively.
Oooh. I was looking at other videos of Cheetahs and Wildcats, and the audience was chanting "1, 3, 5, 7" during their pyramids, so I just assumed it was at Cheer Athletics thing.
Ok the counting thing is something that all CA athletes do at any practice or competition. When teams switch off at practice they cheer each other on and count the pyramid. It's just something we do. I'm sure other gyms do the exact same thing.
like there is so much going on in their uniforms, the new design with the transparent mesh, takes away from the uniform itself, because you are adding in another extra color (skin color)
Panther's competed the most consistently but there is no doubt that Senior Elite HIT flawlessly on day 2 and Panther's had a major bobble on the day which the scores counted. No one was cheated.
The legends says that the NCA curse will only be broken by the team with the hardest stunt ever seen in the cheer world in level 5... One day it will break.. But who will break it.
its funny a friend of mine said that the other day, that the flawlessness they had all year just wasn't there on day two. like we knew in that moment that they lost, which just sucks cause they were my pick to beat that curse over stingray orange by farrr.
& im not downing F5 ive been a fan since the first time I watched them when I was on NJSE Fab5 in 2001, but they bought CheerSport rings this year since thats all they won which puts them pretty low on the lrg sr5 totem poll. They have a lot of graduating superseniors & some awesome level 5 jrs moving up so hopefully next year will be better for them. They haven't won worlds in quite a while so maybe they'll return w/ a vengence. We shall see.
In a way, I understand what you mean, but I don't think I'd be able to see low scores or negative comments on a scoresheet and not do everything in my power to fix them. It's not even about winning, but trying to achieve the best you can do in my opinion.
was bailey peyton hurt? I know she had a knee brace on, but she didn't even do jumps to tuck, I know for a fact that she has a standing full and a running double at the very least, she's the only girl through the routine that does zero tumbling from start to finish.
no there score was lowered because of the bobble in the first stunt sequence from there point flyer with everyone they actually had the highest tumbling score
Panthers is definitely one of my favorite teams out there don't get me wrong, but I think that Senior elite deserved to win because their stunts were much higher in difficulty and they were super clean. but no doubt Panthers deserved the silver trophy, they were both flawless. However, Panthers tumbling definitely beats Senior Elite's tumbling who agrees?
SE's building score was almost 7 points higher than panthers. F5's was 5 points higher than panthers too, but they had 3 points in deductions. No one had any stunts fall day 2 & I think SE's jumps were more in sync than anyone else's. I really like Panthers, but people need to stop saying 2-4th place were robbed.
It wasn't out of desperation.. It was for constructive criticism. That shows how dedicated of a coach Courtney is. It's funny how the only ones who aren't bitter are SE, their fan base, and Panthers. All I've seen from girls on Panthers is them saying how happy they are with their silver. It's not like they got 4th. And you bashing a coach isn't gonna change the outcome of anything. I'm more of a SE fan, but I really like Panthers & I'm happy for them. 2nd isn't the end of the world. Calm down
Do you guys not see that in other sports scores or times don't carry over? In track for instance, they have prelims, quarter finals , semi & finals. None of their times carry over or get averaged. One person could be the fastest in Semi finals & then get second in the finals or maybe even lower if they make a mistake, it's no different.
Panthers weren't even deducted for that 'bobble'. They lost to SE because their tumbling wasn't strong enough to push their score over the top, and their building scores weren't up to par, especially compared to SE. In my opinion, what really hurt them was that they only had 8 main stunt groups. Their building score would've been so much higher if they had 9.
It is smart wat Courtney did I would want my coach to ask the judges so that we could win and I always wondered why SE routines are diff the second day they compete. If u ever watch there routines there Day 2 routine is a little different than Day 1 she is doing what it takes to make sure her team wins and what is wrong with that it is a competition not lets all be friends and get last place
Yup! She tore her mcl a week before, was determined to compete though so she did! She's a great tumbler and has a specialty to double, two to double I think?
hmmm maybe so. but when i was at nca a few years ago i was sitting next to cheetahs and they were counting for panthers...so maybe its just some sort of cheer ritual they do
Ya SE dropped 2 stunts but the first day doesnt count for the 2nd day. Day 1 is where u perform to make it to finals and day 2 is where u perform to win worlds and SE came back beasting it.
Again, they weren't deducted for the bobble. It was a travelling stunt. Execution-wise, maybe, but it wasn't a 'bobble deduction'. Nothing in the scoresheet reflected a deduction. And I was saying that although their tumbling was great and was the most difficult, it wasn't enough to make up for the other areas where they didn't score as high. They might've stayed first if they were as clean as they were Day 1, and if Senior Elite hadn't competed more difficult tumbling Day 2.
