Jackfruit can take a lot of seasoning. That wasn't a lot to me. It takes layers of seasoning to get it where you want it. I first boil my Jackfruit with onions, garlic, water and Veggie broth for awhile to get rid of the briny flavor that canned Jackfruit has. Then I drain it well and then cook it, with plenty of seasoning. I cook it down for a long time, so it can really take on the flavors I'm infusing into it. If I'm adding onions or peppers, I add them later in the cooking process because I cook the Jackfruit for so long and I don't want the veggies turning to mush. That's my way. It's fun to work with and I'm always learning new ways.
Thanks for that tip! I tried to use fresh jackfruit to avoid the brine taste (although I soak & rinse it) but if it's ripe or a little ripe, it's too sweet.
@@MEvans-tt1ri I understand that most vegan food tastes like shit she actually makes some pretty decent food I just also can't stand being around vegan people they preach to you more than a goddamn Mormon
Made this recipe for dinner, this was a hit - surprised me since I'm from Philly and cheesesteaks are our staple! I substituted a different type of cheese than mozzarella. Will definitely add to the dinner rotation!
I’m not Vegan, but I can appreciate these recipes. I tried jackfruit because of Tabitha. Made some jackfruit tacos. Delicious! For the past couple of months I’ve been adding more vegetables and fruits to my diet than before. I’m Eating less meat. Since that I have more energy. This recipe is definitely worth trying and the seasonings REALLY makes the veggies come alive! Thanks so much Tabitha!
As a carnivore the thing I like about this recipe is you are not using some over-processed type of a thing that is made to simulate meat the Jackfruit gives it enough texture but it doesn't replace steak. I have never understood why people try so hard to emulate meat if you really want to eat a meat-free diet it makes more sense to make food that is just as good but does not try to simulate dead animals. I think this looks like the perfect sandwich to showcase exactly that
Because they miss the taste and texture of real meat. If meat wasn't overly processed and full of antibiotics, we probably wouldn't have so many vegans.
I don’t miss the taste of meat! It’s unfortunate that the inhumane way animals are murdered, you don’t want to consume it. It’s nice to have foods that have a “meat like” texture without all the things that encompass eating animal flesh liver, kidney intestines and every other part of an animal. To each his/her own. I judge no one❤
Vegan is for the animals. So if you’re vegan that doesn’t mean you don’t want the taste and feel of meat. It means you wanna save animals so if they use mock meats that’s why. I don’t use those personally But I understand why people do
Omg Auntie Tab!!! I made this last night and it was delicious!!!! I'm newly vegan and it was awesome!!!! I also have your Cookbook so looking forward to more recipes.
I’m not going 100% yet but I’m embracing a #pescatarian diet so in the event I’m craving one of these I like the idea of the impossible meat she said she made for her hubby and I search a video on that and I honestly will make both to see which I like best with the same ingredients and I’m hella glad she was able to get the jackfruit canned because I’ve seen the version using the whole fruit for a fried chckn recipe and honestly it seems to freakn troublesome for my patience to prepare it from scratch…..so glad it turned out deliciously looking and hopefully will be tasting for my pallet when I make it 😅😅😅😅😅 Another banger #TAB
Babbbbbyyyyyy that looks so good so tomorrow if I don’t go to the Asian Market for the fresh jackfruit I’m going to have to just buy some in the can and make this😋 thanks for sharing Tab💕💕💕
If you wanna try a vegan lobster roll get some lobster mushrooms. It literally tastes like the real thing and I know you miss your seafood. It is so good and you can't really tell the difference. ❤
@@chelliechelle6602 Google health food stores in your area, ones organic/local focused, or high end types like Wegman's. I've seen them there and Mom's Organic Market.
