🤙Cheers for watching, unfortunate that the first watch through the stream died. The reason we called it "SBLJless" is because some singlestars in Crackhex's previously uploaded run used SBLJs (example: Shoot into the Wild Blue) which, even though they don't affect the actual 16 run, it's still technically breaking the rules, and most of the SM64 TAS community weren't that happy with it. So Crackhex looked at an archived old project that never got finished which used the idea of a moat door skip, and reached out to me and Mickey to do some of the harder stuff. Hope you enjoyed 😍

I’m still trying to learn what TAS’s are. So is there someone controlling the character for the most part but a computer assists with extra button presses they can’t do fast enough? Or is the computer completely controlling the character from start to finish, no human input necessary?

It's entirely the computer. The inputs are written out by human frame-by-frame and then played back. No real-time input.

Side. It's when you do a BLJ by getting "trapped" between 2 steps of a staircase. Humans do that to go to 2nd bowser in 1 and 0 stars but the TAS can use it in a lot of other places

Some of these strats are insane and look as though they could be utilised in 120 star. But I’m guessing they’re so difficult that players are too cautious about using them late on in runs cause the risk is too high?

It means without doing the side backwards long jump in the basement, where you skip the 30 star door the same way you do it for dark world Bowser in the lobby.
