A butternut squash seed escaped from one of out compost bins this past winter and sprouted a "volunteer" well outside of our garden beds. Fine. I made sure it was well watered but gave it no special attention, no feeding, no pesticides. In the end we are overwhelmed with our bountiful harvest of butternuts. I will store many of them, but tomorrow we feast on your butternut mac-n-cheese, w/ homegrown onion, garlic, and homemade chicken stock in the mix. Thanks for the inspiration!
My son did grow up with the blue box Mac and cheese. He went to visit my sister when he was 6 and she knew he loved Mac and cheese so she made homemade…and he was upset because it wasn’t what he was used to. He took a bite…and I had to get her recipe! My son is coming for a visit at Christmas and I’ll have to make this for him!
I watched the video this morning, made it this evening for supper. Followed to the t except and the end I sprinkle sliced jalapeños over the bread crumbs. I was sceptical of how runny it was, but I towed the line. Turned out amazing! Every recipe from you Ive tried has been a banger! Well done and keep them coming.
Oh my! My mouth is watering over this dish! I'm going to make it this weekend as I'm gathering with my kids to roast hot dogs over an open fire in our backyard! Roasted hot dogs + creamy mac n cheese... 😋!
