A tip for some people. I was very interested in your meatloaf, it looks really delicious. I have a problem with egg in meat mixtures, there is a very weird taste!! I just couldn’t understand the problem and I had resigned myself to never having any savoury mixtures which used egg in them! I was watching a tv cookery show one day, and the cook said “if you have a problem with eggs in meat mixture, it’s the egg white, use two yolks instead” ohhhh my, that was it!!! 😃 I don’t have any problems with egg whites in any baking scenario, thank goodness 😅
Yum! What a great idea to use stuffing mix instead of breadcrumbs or oats (that has also always seemed a bit odd to me). One suggestion might be to soak the stuffing mix in a bit of milk before you mix it all together. That tends to help the meatloaf stick together and adds a bit more moisture. I'll definitely be trying this one!
Hi Helen, I've watched your videos for ages and loved following your vlogs with your gorgeous family ❤️ just tried this meatloaf recipe today and omg! It's amazing! Thank you so much, I love following along with your recipes - you give me confidence to not measure and just give it a go :)
i make my mom's version of this that's quite a bit different but also uses stuffing and cheese. to save time i just press mine into the pan, bake it and cut it into squares.
pretty much!! lol. my mom's recipe was 2 lbs ground turkey, 2 pouches turkey stuffing mix, 32 oz chicken broth, blk pepper, tablespoon instant minced onion, 8oz grated cheddar cheese. mix, press in pan then bake foiled for 45 min then unfoiled for 15. juicy and perfect every time. served with mashed potatoes, green beans with crisp bacon and buter added and a buttered roll. one of my favorites but everything she made was delicious!!
It's very strange, in that I myself only started making meatloaf a year ago, and so far only done it 2-3 times, once for New Years dinner. I go about all my cooking the same way you do too. I watch/read a bunch of different recipes then make up my own, depending what i have on hand. Never keep to the same recipe because I never remember what went in. Often i use bbq sauce mixed with some spicy hot sauce or sriracha, also tried to top it with teriyaki too. Have tried it stuffed with cheese, bacon, mushrooms too. Usually i cook mine a little longer but I use lower temperature. Wish I could find that stuffing mix, that looks like such a good idea!!! x
Hey Alison snap I've only made it a few times over this last year I do like to try new recipes an switch em up i would struggle to follow a written recipe to the letter to be honest lol :)
Hey Linda it is really tasty if you do make it please come back an let me know how you get on thank you I was volunteering in the school this morning I like to ware a shirt when I'm there look a little profesh!! Lol :) xx
Aww thanks Tess yes it's one of my most used dishes it came with a plastic lid to so you can easily store food an put it in the fridge which is pretty cool :)
I love meatloaf, just wish someone else in my house liked it! I make it once a year because of that. I use seasoned bread crumbs in mine. Which probably is the same as the stuffing mix. Then add shredded cheese to it with all the seasoning and a couple of eggs. The only way to get my family to even put a piece on their plates is to add cheese . If I added peppers and onions they would all go running. All of them are a bit picky. Thanks for sharing your recipe! 😊
This looks lovely, I was wondering if it would fall apart, it didn't though so that's good. I'm guessing you could make it in a loaf tin maybe? might help a bit. Defo give it a try I think xx
Hey Katie thank you I don't hava meatloaf type tin so do it in my glass pyrex dish if you do try it please come back an let me know how you get on I love to get feedback:) xx
Will do : ) Just watched your weekly meal video. Still giggle at the size of your yorkies! they're huge!!! Think you need special Sunday dinner plates that are bigger to accommodate them : ) Have a fab week x
Hiya V there from bookers it's a wholesaler for business users but I'm lucky that a friend of mine has a son who works there and gave me a friends and family card tho another subscriber said that you can get them in The Range so you could try there :)
Off topic but as a video idea what about showing us in your cupboards!! We saw a bit when you were showing how you meal plan I think it was and I love the neatness of it all - I need to be that organised! X
Yum! Made this tonight. Smells delicious. I love your recipes. I live in the US so I try to find all of the ingredients. So far no problem except for packaged items. Your chicken casserole recipe uses a package mix from Aldi. We do have Aldi here but different things. What can I substitute for that? Gravy mix? Thanks
Hi Helen, another delicious meal, thank you I just love watching you cook and getting your spin. I too like to get my own version on our meals that I know we would prefer the taste of, if that made any sense!!! I hope you are having a lovely week xx
Cool video. I just so happen to be looking for a meatloaf recipe. But all the ones I've came across are very American type. And I wanted something that was more British. I.e, the stuffing. Great idea. Thanks for the video. x
Hey Jessica I got mine 7 years ago hun and I love em I had a stainless steal set years ago when I first set up on my own that I got rid of for teafal ones tuts!! Big mistake I then had another random set that was meant to be high quality needless to say I went back to stainless steel I would highly recommend them hun :)
I just found you and subscribed. I love your videos. I want to know where you got your pans and if they are stainless steel? Also, tin foil causes memory problems. They say ( whoever they are ) that it is bad for you and gives you early dementia.
Thank you Glenda :) my pots and pans are from IKEA and yes they are stainless steel... I've heard negative things about tin foil before what do you use instead? I don't use it often but sometimes it comes in handy :)
I love those. I will check them out and yes, there is bad to everything good but I try never to put it right on food. Like I use plastic before or paper towels to wrap any left over lettuce and then the tin. I use parchment paper but there are times you must use it. But now I use bags like you do for bigger meats in the oven. And I just started using that tissue paper to wrap my cookies with and do tin over the tissue. It might help or not but I am trying. I don't have a mobile phone and I saw something the other day that wifi , phone, TV and all those in your bedroom can cause problems. Who really knows for sure?
