Perhaps counterintuitively, there are significant challenges to being a cheetah. Physiologically, to gain their speed, they have given up almost everything else. They are not strong and cannot fight off other predators making them, effectively, vulnerable to even jackals who are a fraction size simply because their cries will attract larger predators such as leopards and lions. It takes a huge amount of energy to reach top speed and run like they do. So much so that their body temperature rises significantly. Given that, they have to wait up to 40min after making a kill to cool down before they can even begin eating....and all throughout this time anything could have seen and come along and chase the cheetah off. Which would mean a huge energy loss for no gain. Beyond that, unlike with lions who have a pride to look after cubs, and leopards whose cubs can climb trees and escape to safety when mum leaves them to hunt, cheetah cubs have to move with their mothers at all times - even with hunting, often therefore, not only disrupting the hunt as prey spot them cavorting about, but are themselves incredibly vulnerable to predation while out in the open.... It's a crazy how much they have traded away for speed....But oh so amazing to see them run! :)
@@beyondafricafilms yeah that makes sense 👍 I never would have imagined that possibility. Not that I hate animals and their basic behaviours are enjoyable to learn But there's always the morality and certain catches

This is a cheetah, not a leopard. They are incredible creatures and there are few sights in nature more amazing than watching one at full speed. There is a warning for the last scene and if the cheetah doesn’t catch prey she and her cubs die. If you don’t want to watch the last scene then don’t. That’s a personal choice and I provided an opportunity to finish watching, but I choose to portray nature in all its glory, not just the cherry-picked part. I’m glad you enjoyed the hunt part. I can recommend another video which is only positive and special: Pride on the Move | Cubs being Carried ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ki0xgsZRG8I.html
There's no need to be sorry :) As a wildlife filmmaker I just like to document all aspects of nature - both the good and the sad (often they are intertwined). There are many wondrous sights and things to see out there. I hope you enjoy the lion cubs being carried video - it's amazing to see such a powerful predator be so loving and caring and devoted to her offspring. It shows a completely different side to lionesses. It is well worth a watch :)
Hi :) Not strictly true….Cheetah probably come in in the top 5 but they’re definitely not the fastest. A cheetah’s top speed is around that 60mph mark whereas Peregrine Falcons, as an example, have been measured at over 200mph. Cheetahs are however the fastest land animals on Earth. Nothing can run faster.
