The attitude is because he doesn't usually work much, so when he actually does work he's like, "hey I made an effort, that's already super good in my case". It's like when people put on their dating profile "I'm a nice guy" as if being nice is some special thing... being nice is supposed to be the bare minimum that you can be, haha
@@sbolton89- Yup. I just researched it. He was 35 years old. Despite this case. Rest in Peace. I guess he just woke up on the wrong side of bed for that brunch prep. According to online obituary. Dude seemed to be well-liked as chef.
I’m a photographer and do weddings/events and such. Recently did one on a Friday afternoon, I’m in LA. Anyone here knows the traffic on a Friday is horrible. Took me two hours to get there. I left extra early, still got there with time to spare, and the client was happy. When you work events, saying there was traffic in this day and age with smartphones and GPS isn’t an excuse.
I’m a photographer in LA too and yes , it’s still can excuse because ETAS do change drastically down here. I’m lenient with clients too but different strokes for different folks.
@@dm9310 oh they absolutely can, you get it. That’s why whenever I can I leave extra early. Even if you see traffic in your ETA when you leave, as I’m sure you’ve experienced the traffic can always get worse.
You can tell, initially the Judge wasn't going to award the Plaintiff She was going to say not to use him again. But his attitude and apparently his rude answers to the Plaintiffs texts changed her mind. Nice.
Well I think she would still be entitled for a refund. It would be one thing if he showed up on time and did a lousy job but he was over an HOUR late! You cant blame that on construction bro.

Never hire a friend. I was a chef manager for 12 years and have done loads of catering jobs. You always plan on getting to the event with at least an extra hour on top of your set up time. There’s always some kind of glitch in the plan you can’t foresee so you can’t afford to even get there on time in most cases. He’s strictly a bush league amateur showing up that late
I did over 800 weddings and always left 2 hours early. One never knows what could happen on the way. Once my car broke down and my wife came and we swapped cars and mine was towed and she waited till it was fixed. I made the wedding with time to spare. You don't screw up someone's party by not leaving a big window just in case.

I’m a professional private chef and caterer, same age as defendant, and I cannot even imagine acting the way he did day of event or in court! Half my revenue is through referrals, so I’m guessing that his business will not last long no matter what.

Looks like the defendant was killed in 2019. COLUMBUS, Ohio - Two males died following a shooting in southeast Columbus Wednesday. It happened in the 6700 block of Lagrange Drive shortly before 4 p.m., according to Columbus police. Police identified the victims as 31-year-old Trever B. Williams and 35-year-old Michael C. McKee. It was windy on my wedding day & took extra-long for outdoor photos. The caterer (at a different location) determined that he didn't want ppl drinking w/out sufficient food - he ran out of hors d'oevres & went to the store to buy more at his own expense!
That text must've been horrendous for her to award the plantiff money in this case- i have never seen her do that in these types of cases before- she will deduct what wasn't provided that was agreed upon- but she won't ever let someone "eat the steak" and not pay for it... she just says don't use them again.
You always leave early to get to a job because you never know if there’s an accident, construction, anything. My dad always taught me if your 15 min early, you’re on time. If you’re on time, you’re late.
He's got an excuse for everything! The company who held my wedding/reception gave me a contract for security to be at the event, and because they were over 2 hours late and they were extremely rude to my guests, they gave me my deposit back.
I’ve done work on many occasions for family and friends and have been just as professional with them as I would be with any other client. You just have to know the work ethic of the person you’re hiring (or the the type of person you’re working for). Case by case
