He doesn't understand the cookie's taste is not the issue, Aisha is telling him politely, 'this is a high end yacht, you need to serve high end food'. Then he makes out she is calling out her fellow crew member when she should be supporting him, to which I would say you're making her serve low end food to high end guests and that's not supporting her in her role.
I’m sorry but if I was paying 50K or more to celebrate a special event in my life I’d want something more special than a cookie with ice cream… It was probably a very tasty cookie but to me it’s the equivalent of serving chicken on a super yacht.
Aesha was already doing two other people’s jobs and getting crap from them and the chef now can’t read the preference sheet’s and do his job properly and didn’t even have another dish made that wasn’t raw fish and put the full responsibility on Aesha that’s just terrible for a professional chef to do. Every unprofessional chef. The biscuit on a cake with caramel and ice cream for a special occasion and make out that it’s the guests and Alesha’s fault was low professional point. The chef gaslighting everyone never his fault. I think Captain Sandy was correct that he should have been fired but Captain Sandy couldn’t without a new chef coming but I think she should have told him that she should have been sacking him and why she wasn’t. The two cabin staff should both be fired and three new staff brought on board because they are not doing their jobs and Aesha is the only staff member taking full responsibility for everyone else’s jobs and mistakes. One person can’t even do the laundry and is losing her own clothes she should have been fired two charts ago.
It's her job to make you aware the people paying you wages are pissed. You screwed up she explained why. Wake up you almost murdered a guest you made cookies and ice cream for 25 th anniversary most high in chefs make a cake.
And to say that mistakes like that happen all the time in restaurants and don’t make it back to the kitchen?? I used to wait tables and a dish is sent back to the kitchen at least 95% of the time if a guest isn’t happy with the food they’ve been served. And that’s just for it not being cooked to their preferences. A food allergy would always be sent back! I think it is more acceptable to make those kinds of mistakes, and usually it is the server’s fault for not communicating it to the chef but there’s also a much higher volume of food being prepared and served every night.
LOL....And then to say that if a customer at a restaurant doesn't like their steak that it never gets back to the chef because the wait staff just says, 'ehhhh whatever and shrugs it off' is just not true....The wait staff apologizes and then carries that steak back to the kitchen either to have it cooked longer or replaced the way the customer ordered or wants it. His attitude alone will lead to many career disappointments for him..
@123ct123 When I was a server, I'd fight with the chef. Especially, if it was this one chef that was horrible on grill. That man would make a well-done steak and sell it as a medium and tell you to sell it to the customers as if they would not look at it as they cut into it or feel the differencein texture. I would sometimes not even run the steak because I could tell it was wrong. I'd make that man put a new one on and then tell the table what's up... because that is my tip! Like I get that maybe at fast food places you could afford to sell low quality food and get away with laughing it off with your co workers, but at places where we rely on tips that is not happening. Oh, I will not be loyal to anyone but my own special interests.
Literally like a children’s birthday party… I’d never serve that on a yacht to guests paying $50k-$100k to charter it. Insane he even defends that monstrosity!
Why is Sandy so afraid to fire incompetent people this season? She had a chef lined up a few charters ago, she should have fired Jono then. Bri is absolutely awful and can't even do laundry after all this time. She should have been fired weeks ago as well.
In the beginning of the season, Brie had mentioned that she has been in yachting for a few years but hasn’t finished a season yet? There must be a reason for this.
It’s also something he could have prepped the night or day before. All he would have needed to do was toast the sugar on top. Far easier than his sad cookie LOL
@fleshyunicorn3953 what's interesting is that he talked about how the ice cream and caramel topping were homemade, but those two things would have taken way more time/energy than prepping some creme brulee. His excuses and lack of accountability are ridiculous. I'm curious if he would have had the balls to blame Aesha if she was sitting next to him lol
@@sassybatchzexactly. If a child can request it. Don't make it. Like a kids bday party cookies ice cream cake. Yeesh. That didn't look good at all. Also it melts n looks like poo
It's fine if its delicious but there is something to be said about presentation and making something really memorable and impressive looking for events like these that cost so much $$ to afford.
Kate was right--if he crumbled it and made into a homemade parfait or something and put some pizzaz on the plating, he could have sold that cookie as something more than it seemed.
Jono is so immature for not admitting that he made a mistake! Thank goodness the lady didn’t eat the raw fish!!! He also made an excuse that he was too busy but a soufflé could have been prepared ahead of time and popped in the oven right at dinner time!
Sandy is thinks Aesha is hero because she eats standing up. Maybe she needs to sit and enjoy her food - rather than sampling guests food after their meals. This doesn't mean that she is a great organiser ... it simply means that she doesn't sit and eat. Sandy is up to her old tricks about having favourites on staff. Aesha is the new Malia = Sandy's favourite
It baffles me Sandy wasn’t able to wrangle Chef Dave to save the day like three charters ago. Just because his food cant taste good, it doesn’t mean its appropriate for a wedding anniversary
Wow so now Aesha has nerve to feed herself for the five seconds she has to stand run and eat ..damn Jono….this is why you won’t work on super yachts again learn to improve or take constructive criticism
There’s no way I’m paying for a high end yacht and you make me a cookie for my anniversary especially when I listed greater examples on my preference sheet… I’d be livid. They were lucky the guests were that calm.
So in a restaurant, it often doesn't get back to the kitchen, ie. the chef, cause the server takes the brunt of it, well..🤔 don't you *want* it to?!? Why have the server make up for your mistakes?!? Or, even I've worked in restaurants, doesn't even have to b a legitimate "mistake," could just b a customer complaint. But don't you want to b made aware???? Or is that just me??
Jono needs to own that he messed up the dessert, the guest wanted something more fancy and special, she did not say your dessert tasted bad, it looked good to me however just under whelming for an anniversary, especially when they informed you what they would like. Own that you were wrong Jono.
He knows his dessert game is poo. He even mentions in his confessional he didn’t spend as much time on it as he would have liked. Gotta be well rounded on a boat like this.
I like Jono when he's being real and not performative with all the boring snaps. I really admire how calm he is and he gives such great advice. But yes, the cookie dessert was odd. Creme brulee is not hard to make and can be prepared beforehand.
Nothing but excuses and backlash from Jono. He lacks on his dessert skills. That was a 25 year Anniversary and the best you could do was a cookie dessert? That was just embarrassing. They serve that at all BJ Chain Restaurants. Aesha telling him the feedback from the guests is her job. Doesn't he realize that if they had a Chef ready to go he would have been fired. It was on the preference sheets, which he fails to pay attention to numerous times, the woman said it was on there 5x. He just doesn't care. How I wish there was a Chef to replace his arrogant a$$.
So…is he saying CAPTAIN Sandy is wrong too? Because she felt the same way, so if you’re saying Aesha was wrong, you’re also saying that you think your captain is wrong. It’s not about the taste of the cookie, it could be the best cookie in the world, but it’s still a a cookie. On a yacht, that’s not a fine dining dessert. Given the raw fish, homeboy needs to learn to take criticism and admit when he’s wrong.
This season has dragged out way past its expiration date no thanks the cast sucks and the drama is lack luster. Is it just me or this season feel like a million episodes of filler.
omg thank you! Besides Aesha and Captain, it’s just off. They don’t have much cohesion. & last night they only said they were mid season and I’m like I thought the season was over ?!
Aesha is starting to bug me. I think she is judgemental of Ellie & too soft on Brie. She goofed when the guest got raw seafood and didn't take her share of responsibility leaving the chef to take all the blame. Sandy is doing her usual pattern of having favourites on staff. She favours Aesha and overlooks her weak management skills and her inability to train the staff to do the laundry or bar. Give them a system to follow that is simple & easy to accomplish. Plus she was weak in managing the conflict resolution.
I’m sorry Jono but there’s a difference between my steak at the wrong temp and being served food that could kill me or something I can find at a kids bday party
"Tsarina was the first chef in my career who I could have adult conversations with, we communicated, we didn't raise our voices... " oh well it's as if being an emotional terrorist isn't so much a chef thing, it's a MALE chef thing
Jono that was the laziest most childish dessert u can make. Anyone can make a cookie n cake sandwich for under 4 bucks. No one wants your cake n cookies. Why havent u learned. Stop putting ice cream on your desserts it screams kids bday party.
Jono is self-taught and has done a very good job, but there will always be mistakes and he doesn't accept responsibility well. As for clapping back at my BD-Boo Aesha?! Oh HELL NO!!!
I can see both sides, Aesha is right in saying what she had. Jono is to, comes down to a miscommunication between them both. Shit happens in any profession or job.
WRONG! Love this chef, nice guy, funny and he is for the most part reasonable but he was in over his head at times. He was LUCKY this last episode. He can't be so delicate about feedback. (Yes, I''m a retired chef).
jono is a work in progress ! he is not a top level chef , to serve a guest a meal that could kill her is inexcusable ! its doubtful sandy would want him back when she was going to fire him and would have if a replacement was available !
Does Bri have anything to say ever?? Any spine to pull Jono up on his lack of accountability?? How she managed to remain on the show this long is beyond me...
It's called constructive criticism. Jono even said earlier in the season, he was open to comments and suggestions to strive better as a chef. Don't be defensive after the fact. Give me a break, queen. You need to have tough skin in this yatching business. This workplace isn't for you Jono and maybe you're better suited on some basic caribbean cruise ship and work as a line chef if you don't want to put in the extra work as a 5 star Michelin chef. Bring back Rachel Hargrove. Now that's a real yacht chef right there. She cuts no corners.
What the one that got nasty when she was drunk, also stormed off the boat because she didn’t like what was on the preference sheet?! Marcos is hands down the best chef ever on Below Deck imo.
@@Owldwoman61 Yes, that's the one. She was great for tv cos she was a little cray, cray. Besides her antics, she was an effing great custom chef and did her job well. I loved it when she eff'ed bombed the guests in front of Captain Lee when they were going through the preference sheets at their meeting. She was a riot! Marcos, I think he was the latin american chef on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. From what I recall, he was okay, not my favorite and don't really remember his dishes. Everyone has their own preferences though.
Doubling down on your mistakes makes you look way worse than just admitting when you're wrong and learning from it. Its also not a good look when you're a chef on a super yacht and you act like you don't even know how basic restaurants work. What waiters/waitresses shrug off people not liking their food and it never gets back to the kitchen? 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ Thats not how that works in the slightest. You're excuses are making you look even more incompetent.
Sandy is really demeaning as a captain. Like wth? It's such crap that she claims to want to build up people's spirits when she picks and chooses who will receive her good graces. She was kind and sweet to Bri, but Jono was always made to feel intimidated and unworthy. That's not empowering.
Face the fact Jono, that dessert was not super yacht quality! Also in the episode Jono said he focused on mains and didn’t have time to make an elaborate dessert. Ummm there are many desserts that can be made ahead and are elaborate.
Not being funny him being annoyed the fact that she took the plate back and let him know the guests were unimpressed is actually ridiculous. My chefs if ever a customer complains then I always make sure to let the chef know what the problem is because how are people meant to improve if they never ever have any criticism? Jono honestly thinks he’s gods gift and that he never makes any mistakes but in all reality no one on this planet is perfect and we can all improve on something in life.
As much as I adore Kate, I really dont get why she's involved with this season's aftershow? I'd much prefer to hear from the crew that was actually present during the season lol
this was a bad season for sure . how did bri get on this boat with no experience and by her own admission more than a few shitcans ? Ellie thought the sun rised and set around her and her treatment of bri was beyond awful, boring bosun , slimebal joe and having sandy as captain . having aiesha was such a good start of a crew unfortunately the rest were disappointing !
I miss seeing real chefs on below deck like the food compared to some other chefs, Adrian, Rachel, Ben- is not even close to the same quality. For that amount of money I would be so disappointed to have Jono as a chef
God he is horrible! I’d *NEVER* hire him. Huge ego, can’t take criticism or accountability! “Homemade ice cream, homemade caramel, homemade cookies…” SO! They didn’t want that crap! That’s literally what’s served at a children’s birthday party! Not something for high end guests spending over $100,000 to charter the yacht, not to mention it was ALSO their anniversary dinner! Excuses excuses excuses… He’s full of em! It takes 10 minutes to mix some cookie batter and throw some ingredients into an ice cream maker. Chef? More like grade school lunch lady.
I don’t know where else to post this __ but -Ellie is so annoying ,,,, it’s almost making me not want to watch the show any longer. She walks around so entitled - saying so many arrogant things that are just mind blowing -- at one point - she left her cell phone in a guest cabin, then Asia told her about it,--Ellie went on to say or should I say boo-hoo and cry about how Asia spoke to her…. Asia said nothing wrong., in fact, she’s lucky that it was Asia because Kate and other Chief stew‘s would have really went off on her--Ellie says she’s not being treated as a second stew,- she needs to back up and realize that the position of second is a temporary appointed position, and after people see how she is so terrible at it, I doubt she will be given the position again - anytime soon- She is so transparent, thinking that she can advance in her career by flirting, and when that doesn’t work, then she puts on a very heavy thick accent and wants to act like she doesn’t speak good or she is trying so well to try her hardest, but she doesn’t know why people treat her so different When she tries so hard and people pick on her and she doesn’t know why she gets cheated so badly.,,…. Boo hoo hoo. - I wish the horrible Heavy accent somehow could be translated into what you were reading because it is so annoying, I wish they would have dumped her off the boat earlier earlier on….. she brings nothing except drama and too much controversy.-- when things do not go her way, her outfits -- on crew nights out -- at night time,,,, get smaller and skimpier,,, And she speaks desperately, asking everyone what do they think about her outfit? -- it is just sad,- , She doesn’t😅 know how to conduct herself… - she needs to take some notes from Kate Chastaine -- (my apologies Kate, if I spelled, your name, incorrectly,) if she wants to try and be a tough stew. But sorry, she will never be in the same category of Kate never never never… - In this season, even Gale was so so. Cool !!! - and was able to hold her own., (all the while, dealing with handsome dudes). - bye-bye Ellie., go somewhere else and put on bikinis and little lace outfits -- stare at yourself in the mirror, it’s just old and boring at this point 🪞 _____
What a snooze fest. All you give us is this, photo gate from the OC and nothing even memorable from Dubai. Where is HW Atlanta, M2Med, NY. This network has gone to sh't. Then you have to pay to watch a full episode on Hayu then have to come to youtube to watch the sneak peaks and sh'tty aftershows like wtffff is going on
