Just found this little gem of a game/sim. Such fun to see your progress and the early days mistakes (like forgetting to seasoning the caprese salad). Took a while before I discovered you could package leftovers instead of throwing it away (maybe it wasn't possible in the earlier versions?) and that you could decide to stay in the evening to practice new dishes instead of trying to get time for it in the morning. I totally agree with you on some of the complains though, the fridge should be able to keep more stuff and there should be even more simulator details in the game. By the way, saw that you played a ton of other interesting simulator games as well, have to check them out next. Am playing Railroader myself right now, a great multiplayer game where you really need to work the switches and put train cars on the right tracks (AI bots help out when playing alone), besides the awesome game Derail Valley, perhaps.
As a retired air traffic controller I can tell you that your whole brain being empty of any clue as to what to do is a reaction to stress. Chef life is very much like air traffic control. Many irons in the fire and all of them needing attention at once becomes overwhelming. After you get more experience you will get a cool flow going. Delta needs turned onto the ILS, need to descent United to get him below Eastern before they cross, tower on the shout line wanting a right turn out for American to avoid weather, Brunswick sector on the 31 line wants something, two arrival handoffs flashing at me. I definitely need a plan and some quick action. Vegetables to slice, soup to get off the stove to the warmer, need a floured sole filet, too many dirty pans blocking the workspace need washing, etc. It's all very much alike.
