I was afraid of that. Shipping alcohol to other countries can be incredibly difficult and cost prohibitive. As a gin fan and a Sorted fan, I'm sad but I totally understand!

The variation of ingredients in their fridges we’ve seen is absolutely amazing 😂😂 Jamie having a pumpkin, babybells and salad cream, Baz having open mayo, half a crumble and jerk seasoning, Mike with a plethora of lean meats and Ebbers of course having wine, venison meat and fillets of smoked haddock perfectly demonstrates the difference between their eating habits 😂

So I work in a licence department in a supermarket that prides itself with its Yorkshire and Lancashire products so has a good relationship with sloemotion and I saw this gin in the back waiting for it to go on the shop floor. We make clootie pudding every year, but I've only ever called it 'halloween dumpling'. It's a family recipe that we got from my Gran before she passed away (a task bc she never wrote anything down!), and I've never seen anyone outside of the family make it. We normally get strange looks from people when we offer it to them at Halloween but I have such find memories of weighing out the fruit and mixing it up with my mum. My dad said they couldn't afford custard or cream when he was young so to this day be warms it up and serves it covered in milk and sprinkled with sugar 😫 I'm really pleased to see it actually has a name and history!

As someone born in Scotland and recently within the last few years had clootie Dumplings for Christmas for many years. Discovered that basically, it is really what Mrs Cratchit would have actually been serving up as Christmas Pudding. When it talks about the children checking on it in the copper that's what they were checking on as it boiled in the cloth.

The saddest day of my life has come! Sorted has made their own gin, and I cannot have it shipped because I live in Austria...This seems rather unfair, but I am so happy for you guys! Seeing Ben get excited about cooking and drinks makes me so happy. I love how all the guys love their own things but also open their eyes to what the others like. I wish I was in the UK because I want to try that gin so bad. I have never had gin because I don't know what is good. I'm not a big fan of very very strong alcohol taste so I definitely like fruity things. But hopefully one day it will be open up to the rest of the world and I will be there when it does. The Clootie makes me think of the Dutch 'Broeder' or 'Jan in de zak' (John in the sack). The Clootie sounds better because all the extra things in it. Traditionally it's flour, yeast, milk (bit of salt). Later raisins and things were added. It was eaten with 'Stroop' (syrop).

Love a slice of clootie dumpling, have one every Birthday. Not just a sweet thing though, also great fried in bacon fat & on a plate as part of a full Scottish breakfast.🤤 EDIT haha, turns out you said all that & that its reat on a cheeseboard which it is. You can also toast it or have untoasted with butter & jam, My two favourites to slather on are either plum am or redcurrant jelly. Great hill-walking food as it ives you loads of energy. few things better than sitting on the summit with a steaming hot mug of tea & thick slice of clootie dumpling & butter.

@@woodstream6137 I use my family's old recipe, but Clootie McToot get good reviews. The one the Sorted team did looks a little blonde in colour!? wonder if there wasn't enough dark treacle/molasses or maybe not left in the oven long enough? I'd say give the kit a go to see if you like it, then if you do you could try making one from scratch. We're lucky here in Scotland, a lot of the traditional butchers up here make their own & sell it by the slice for Sunday breakfasts at home so it's easier for trying it out. Though you get a great sense of achievement when you make one yourself & they're such a tasty treat. Hope you enjoy it is you get a chance to try.

Damn it Ebbers, you already got me interested in gin, and subsequently I recently went on a road trip with my partner and got a lot of gin. Now I need even more. Hopefully Sloemotion Distillery will be able to ship to Australia soon.

As a Scot, delighted to see Clootie Dumpling! My wife is a big gin fan so I'm even more delighted to see SortedFood Gin! An instant purchase, we can't wait to try a glass as that flavour combo sounds incredible.

No Ben, we do not call it clootie pudding....its a clootie dumpling. Also, traditionally the boiled dumpling would be sat in front of the open fire and turned regularly to dry out the outside so that the skin would form
