Feel like Kush is having one of the "Your *blanking* Peasant's palate" moments that Ben/James have had during losses over the previous years. *** At the 1 minute mark, I didn't know WTF kush was going to do with octopus, grapes, and Pr. Pear. He definitely chef'd it up more, but at the expense of more additions. His imagination definitely let him create the riskier dish. Chicago dogs = spicy dogs = hotdogs with spice =horseradish wasabi, so that wasn't much of a shock. As for plantains, what else is there to do besides deep fry or puree them? I think Ben had a bit of an advantage after having cooked for the "normals palate" for a decade. *** If we were basing this on creativeness with ingredients, Kush is the clear winner. For a tasty dish for plebs, obviously spicy sausage with saurkraut with some mild sweetness topped it.
Are prickly pear, a normal ingredient in the UK? They grow where I live in Arizona but I’ve never really seen anyone else try and use them outside of the Sonoran desert.
For these types of battles with 3 sets of mystery ingredients to choose from, would it make it more fair to have the 2 contestants Rock-Paper-Scissors for each set so the loser of the first set still has some chance to pick an ingredient they would want? Not sure if a more balanced choosing of ingredients would be as interesting to watch compared to the current format.
If I had Ben's ingredients I would have done chopped hotdogs with eggs, fried plantains, and a wasabi crema and put them on bread to make a breakfast torta. I grew up in Texas and had a variation of that plenty of times.
1. Wish wiper, 2. Tortilla press, 3. Can opener, 4. Churro maker. I just wish the wisk wiper was universal (could be used on multiple different wisks).
I honestly expected the Gordon ramsay wine to be a lot more expensive. 12-15 dollars a bottle is downright affordable and it feels like he wanted it to be accessible to anyone, not a gourmet thing
Its been a long time since Sorted has done this format but... Food Marathon 26.2 dishes in 24 hours with Kush would be legendary. Maybe someday we'll see it. Imagine Kush unleashed vlog-style...
This was great to watch but it's crazy to think of one those dishes sat for at least 15 minutes longer than the other before eating. Food prepared in that style needs to be consumed immediately!
I know what the title of this video says (obviously), but I would love it if you could make Ebber's Chef Bluntly. Like if you called Ebbers "Chef Bluntly". 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hi sorted team.. From a chefs perspective it would be interesting to make comparisons on ingredient preserving from fresh.. Food grow at the allotment, farmers market.. preserved by dehydrating ,Home freeze drying or pressure canned.. as the Americans do in the all American pressure canner.... or home frozen.. Comments on longevity and shelf stable elements would be great. Get you perspective on using the ingredients in a finished dish/ preparation.. Lochness Scottish Highlands
I'm not even the biggest fan of hotdogs, but there was something about Ben's dish that felt homey(and would have ultimately chose it), and its not because its something i ate when i was younger (quite the oppisite actually, the combination of stuff on that plate was something I rarely, if ever, eaten) and at first glace, I would have definitely chosen Kush' dish because I like octopus.
Kush's dish is something I wouldn't be able to think about but I'm sure I could replicate (in a few tries). Ben's is something I've definitely thought about but it seems out of my league.
Kush gave away the good stuff. I would have opted for the octopus over the hot dogs... but, in the US... Hot dogs are not packaged in brine and a glass jar... <3 <3 <#
You're not clear if that's beef pork or chicken chorizo which are all extremely different you also do not have ripe prickly pear which is known as Green Cactus flesh
Vegan as a diet should NOT exist, other than for very specific dietary requirements. Not dietary choices, dietary REQUIREMENTS. Just because someone decides they don't want to eat meat or dary (And in doing so live a VERY unhealthy life) don't make the rest of us suffer.
Some idea; in a 15-minute battle like this one, let the winner of a rock-paper-scissor go first BUT only for the first and last ingredient. The loser got to pick first the one in the middle, so both side will get a chance to throw some curve ball at each other.
Wouldn't it be better if Rock Paper Scissors allowed first pick, then loser chooses first then back to winner ? Having 1st pick for ALL cloches seems a bit unfair
You all really need to do something like rock paper scissors and the winner gets to pick 2 clotsh that they get first dibs on and then the 3rd that was not picked the looser gets to get first dibs on it would be more fair and add the the mind games of do I want the protein first choice or do I want one of the others as a first choice
