I have a couple of these exact cases for my various camera kits that I've built over the years and they're just the best. Love this out-of-the-box use.

I've since made this a "cleaning Pelican" - I liked having quick access to ingredients but one-too-many times people wouldn't put things back securely and it'd make for kind of a mess inside the case 🫣 scrubbies, towels, gloves, soap, tape, twine, and C-folds are now what's inside! Gotta make an updated video...

The tool roll that you included in the first mentor box works great as a second or small knife roll!! I use it for my petty and 6 inch chef and some tools.

To clean the neoprene go to a SCUBA shop and get wetsuit cleaner. Soak and rinse.

This was really helpful! I'm a self-taught cook looking to branch out into pop-up dinner experiences and videos like this are helping me build a solid practice. It'd be nice to hear from you about your happenings with pop-ups in particular, your setups (and how they've differed from kitchen to kitchen), how you plan, source ingredients for your and execute your menus, how you figure pricing (do you include gratuity for support staff?), etc. I know this is a lot to ask but any advice would be helpful! Thank you!

You should look at the trekpak divider system for the 1510 - I use it for my camera gear - it takes up significantly less space than the foam dividers, so you might be able to fit more in the case. There is also a lid organiser that you could use for some of your smaller items. FYI I think the bakers sugar you had is also called caster sugar (here in Australia). It’s a staple in every kitchen.

Nice! Love Pelican. Every techie’s bucket list has one. I don’t think you can quite replace neoprene foam feel and foldability, the key here being the “foam” part. Silicone mats might work, or look for the material source outside the cooking world. I love the occasional visit to the upholstery store, but checkout sites such as sscrubber to get a panoramic view of materials.

You forgot to mention the one key thing to remember with a peli case; you either have the lid unlocked and open or locked and closed. You will be in for a sad time if you mix those up for sure.

Dude that's badass. I like the idea. I'm not a pro chef. But I do bbq at friends parties so something like this would go great with my knife roll. What cutting board do you recommend for a home cook?

Color es sabor. - Non slip pads could do the same as the neopryne, also necessary if your kitchen moves on it's own. I'll give you a hint. Or better yet a question. Water.

Try "Becoming a Chef" by Andrew Dornenburg and Karen Page. Over 20 years old, but it is a great read. Does have recipes, but mostly interviews with prominent chefs of the day discussing how they got into the business, pros/cons of cooking school vs. apprenticeship vs. working your way up in the industry.

Use soapy water and a nylon scrub brush to clean the neoprene. Works for me 🤷🏻‍♂️

Justin Khanna I lay mine out on the counter to do it cause I usually clean the counter and my nonslip “mouse pad” at the same time

Hey, I am a new subscriber and you were saying that you wanted to add a cutting board to the case what if you are a flat sheet cutting board they are cheap and flexible. They sell like them for $6 on amazon for a 4 pack. This could help add to the case.

Don't know if neoprene is, but yoga mats are machine washable. Maybe test a small piece. Or, maybe test a yoga mat!?
@Glenn_v_e

you could use a laptop lid organizer as a space to hold a cutting board.

I thought about that! But then I'd lose out on the foam at the top...
