She's one of the hardest musicians alive today. The use of vintage images perfectly fits a perfect song. This combines sludge metal riffs with Chelsea's ethereal voice. Damn.

Altogether I could use about two repeats of the main lyrical hook that move to a crescendo. The melody of the short lyrics are fucking amazing. I frankly wish there were more of that. I'm not huge on discordant noise.
I feel that way about songs sometimes, but then realize that it just forces you to hit play AGAIN! :) ... I think it's a great song-writing technique, to purposely write a stellar part, and only make it momentary. Make the listener miss it, so they have to hear it again. Or, a similar technique: incorporate the stellar element, then do a bunch of other sounds... they forget about the beloved part, and then resurge the loved part to "return home". This establishes familiarity and makes the song catchy quicker. What I like, is how they've been A LOT more experimental with their sound, doing A LOT of exploration; and it shows, I feel like they're able to write songs without staying in that comfortable (although winning) cookie-cutter formula. I appreciate this song lyrically, most of all, if not for these three words alone "Flowers of Light". They associate C.W. with DARKNESS, and perhaps this is a Just association. So when C.W. speaks of LIGHT, I feel it opens whole other unexplored doors of artistic interpretation for the band visually, as far as the visual interpretation for the band is concerned. So at this point, they could play with concepts of Light, while remaining Dark As Fuck, almost mock the concept of Light, or even do so much as comment on it (whereas, I wasn't really sure if they could do that before)- or... play with a whole nother set of colours on their pallette in their visual imagery with their music videos. This way, they're not just confined to Grey, or BLACK all the time lol ...I think it'd be a trip if C.W. did a RAINBOW coloured music video. Like, a bunch of rainbow coloured vampires biting each other would be really cool. With black bats, flying on a totally white background. And then the band is playing while all of this is happening in front of them, all around them. The video ends with The Moon coming slowly over the sky, eclipsing the band and the set itself, fading out, returning to darkness. That could've been a legit music video for this song :) It just proves the artists are succeeding when they get you to become inspired or artistically moved by their own artistry. I'll admit I'm a total C.W. swagger-jacker. Love their vibe and what they do. I just hope people are drawing, painting, sculpting, creating to the entire C.W. catalogue. I hope THIS is their art studio music. Art Teachers: play C.W. music in your art classes :)
No one is perfect, don't ever bring anyone up to such an unrealistic standard for your own sake as well as theirs. Can't say I disagree with the disappointment part tho
This song hits as deep as this artist. My mothers side of the family are "witches" from the Appalachians and my mothers sister died when she was just 3. She feared flowers, and they'd say it was because she knew she didn't have long on this earth and such a pleasantry made her cry... The lyrics hit just as hard as the notes for me personally. 🖤💐
