I purchased quick cut 3 as you recommended from this video for my startup powder coating business 😊 today I’ll be giving it a try on an old set of wheels to restore, but it definitely seems like the best product to use based on performance and general safety over the hydrofluoric acid based products.

Hey love the video tons of good information I ended up going budget side of things. I went with General chem's StripPaint 9900, I guess its kinda like the enviro strip. The main reason is that its suggested to run 50% chemical and 50% water. Along with the 5 gallon being $123.45.

GReat video Shawn, I think I have some quesitons about maybe paste or gel solutions but not sure of how viable that test could be just because of the nature of gel and how to test.

I fell asleep watching your videos the other night all night. Glad to support but don't know which ive actually seen. Im starting a full powder coating business this month. I've never powder coated anything yet but I've played around with painting motorcycles. I'll figure it out. I was a flexographic printer for 17 years.

Awesome video and I know this one is about chemical strippers, but what if I did not have access to a business license and had to strip a large part down that did not fit in my 95 gallon drum. Sandblasting? Is there another form of stripping like hydro blasting without the absurd costs. Would greatly appreciate any information!

Could see what looked like fumes, I’m not looking to open a business. I’m 100% disabled Vet and can’t work per the VA, I’m just wanting to do this as a hobby, doing this for myself and the younger generation and basically charge what it costs in product only. Showing them how being kind and just helping others is a good thing. To many are after breaking someone’s bank where I’m at, if needed what’s the cost to get a business license? It be a failing business as won’t ever make any money.

My work use Greensolv at correct temps will strip most wheels in 2 hours but its fairly expensive.

expensive and imagine waiting two hours, I wait 10 minutes tops for wheels in Rim Strip. It is good for the environment

on aluminum, I use nitric acid.

Hello, I am from Bulgaria and unfortunately we do not have any of these chemicals for removing paint or powder coated. My question is whether methylene chloride is the same as dichloromethane because here I only managed to find dichloromethane and if so how well it removes paint from the rims. Because I took 1 liter of dichloromethane and tried a piece of broken from the rim painted with paint and almost nothing came off and it takes a long time for a little work.

How any wheels can you do with rim strip before you have to clean out the drum ? Or do you just discard the entire thing and poor fresh product ?

i use a system where I pump it into another container, so I cant really answer that, BUT, figure 3 months on a drum and I do multiple sets of wheels a day

I’m stuck between rim strip and 1010p.. my concern is I’m gonna be having the chemical outside in a wood shed and I live in south Texas as temps get about 105+ degree as summer gets here not sure which one to get due to each chemical working at certain temps and also worried about evaporation.. which one would you recommend?

I use the ps1-l and my storage drum literally sucks the sides in with a 15 degree drop, or bulges with slight increase in temp, if I were you I would absolutely stay away from anything meth chloride if your keeping it in a shed

I used ps1-l before rim strip. I keep it in one of those 95gal eagle over pack drums. So far evap rate hasn’t been too much. I also live in Texas near Houston. For the stripping speed they don’t even compare. Rim strip is WAY better. It will flash rust more but you will need to blast anyway so not a big deal. I won’t ever go back to ps1-l after using rim strip.

Just my 2 cents after using both down here in Texas. But I don’t know anything about the 1010p. Also the ps1-l doesn’t really do much to epoxy primers on some OEM wheels. Something else to think about

Hey what type of gloves and PPE do you use for rim strip? I see viton gloves should work?

Ive tried a few brands, all with similar results. so I dont have any real brand recommendation. good gloves that go passed your elbows, and an apron, along with a respirator.

Also what about bare metal stripper, I’ve seen videos where they say use that and aircraft stripper together. What’s your thoughts on this and good the bad and oh crap I shouldn’t of don’t that.
