Holly fuck! I’ve heard this song live by Scorps and the feeling was extremely intense from their iconic performance. But I feel like this video beats even that! Amazing, Lizzy Hale, just rock goddess!
I would love to see Lzzy Hale put out a compilation of her favorite covers, similar to what Smith & Myers from Shinedown are doing .. it'd be incredible.
I saw The Scorpions more times than I can remember (I'm 47). NEVER would I have thought a female could nail this song. But Lzzy and The East Side Gamblers DID! Takes me back to the 90's when I was in my 20's.
I saw the Scorpions once, in Europe while on crew break from the ship that i was working on .. i'll never forget this song because of that concert .. this cover is Absolutely Outstanding!!
"How to sing like a man" by Lzzy Hale - someone should do a rockumentary on Lzzy. And I mean this in the kindest way. I come from the 80s and 90s where the only rock singer I really liked was Lita Ford, and she was special too, but the choices were just not there like today. Today I find myself seeking out more women rock singers than men. When I see or hear Lzzy sing next to some of the powerful male singers of today, she honestly over shadows them all. Lzzy is a truly a game changer in my eyes. Edit: Just watched Lzzy do For Those About to Rock in a club. Might even be the same night and group as this one. She totally goes for it and puts all she can into it. Then I watched a live version from AC/DC. I think I'll add a tag line "How to sing like a man, and, totally blow them all away" 😎
Just came from a video where Lzzy sang "Heartbreaker" by Pat Benetar and nailed it. And here she is again just KILLING the Scorpions! My wife and I saw Halestrom a couple years ago in central Florida, they sounded better live than they did recorded. Been listening to them since their first album, and have never regretted listening to them. (And yes, I know that THIS isn't Halestorm, lol)
I swear to god, at the end of that song i thought her voice would break , she looked so forsaken. Regrets of her own? Shoulda, woulda, coulda? i defy you to find another artist who has packed more living and learning on the road into their careers than Mz. Hale-- how about an artist who has grown into her skin so well that she is even more chubby-inspiring, running up on 40? One undisputed truth exists here--- this accomplished woman has put in the time, lived and shared heartbreak and paid her dues; she deserves the respect she receives- and more. Best yet, she and the band have gotten very good together, and it's satisfying to think how this symbiotic evolution could lead to further renown. And more great music. Mad props to Lzzy Hale!
P.s As i play guitar , standing on ANY stage and having to play and give a great performance knowing the Master Mathias Jabs composed and played it.....*shiver*
Second best to the original and in saying that nothing I mean nothing could be fucking better!! The Scorpions in my opinion were one of the greatest 80's hard rock slash hair metal bands who ever lived and their music was beautiful and flawless and the singer was almost to good to front a rock band so yes Miss Hale did this song fantastic justice 👏
