Pat benatar was trained as an opera singer I believe. Her husband Neil Geraldo is actually better than Eddie van Halen and his style is totally unique. I would have paid 1000$ to see them then and see them now. They only had four people in the band, singer , base guitar , lead and drummer. Blew the Damn House down. I will never forget.
DIOSpeedDemon I'd have to agree on all points. Spider is horribly underrated, under appreciated, under popular but Damn that dude can freaking play and absolutely run circles around anyone.
@@DIOSpeedDemon Geraldo better than Van Halen LOL... I am not really a VH fan but come on? Even Geraldo would admit the Eddie V is superior in every way.
Pat Benatar always got the "80's Label" put on her, but I have SAID FOR YEARS...you can't sleep on Pat!! She can rock as hard as ANYONE OUT THERE!!!! Great to see Lzzy paying her some respect!
Pat's still alive in case people aren't aware and still performing. I was just recently at a P!nk concert where Pat was one of the opening acts and she was amazing!
I saw Pat Benatar in Seattle in November of 78, at the paramount. Cost me 2.30$, still got the ticket stubb. She blew the house down and her husband Neil Geraldo is one of the best live guitarists alive today. best show I have ever seen.
@@codacreator6162 Absolutely, he got lumped into his wife's pop career, but was an accomplished musician on his own. What a classy wife to eventual re-brand her music as Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, credit where credit is due. Always loved the guitar riff and solo from "Jessie's Girl", not realizing it was Spider on guitar until years later.
I seriously doubt that there isn't any song out there that she cant cover. She has an amazing voice and just rocks the house with whatever she performs. Cant wait to see her in Iowa
Wow! This was everything I wanted! I've been finding there is a resemblence between Pat and Lzzy with how they sing and their style of music. I've actually been picturing Lzzy playing Pat in a biopic even though I know Lzzy isn't really an actress.
That was f'ing great. I just typed in Heartbreaker Pat Benatar cover. Saw this at the top of the list and decided to give it a listen. Wasn't familiar with this lady at all. When I scrolled down and read the comments I realized I have heard of Halestorm. Can't say I would be able to name one of their songs but I've definitely heard of them. Hearing this now though has piqued my interest and I'll definitely check out Halestorm.
It's been 10 months since you posted... what do you think of Halestorm? This video actually is not Halestorm, just Lizzy and the one guitarist Joe (the one in the hat) are from Halestorm. If you like this cover... they have three (mini) albums of covers, along with their four original albums. When Lizzy was a teen, learning her craft, she seeked the help from voice coach Steve Whiteman, the singer from KIX. Unbelievable band, and some of the coolest people around! Hope you enjoy them!🤘
Honestly, I like Halestorm, but I did not give this female near enough props. She is the ONLY one I have ever that could hold a candle to Pat, and she shined amazingly great. Nice shred at the end as well.
I want to hear her and Pat duet on "All Fired Up." It's really a two-part song anyway, but Pat always had to do both parts because no one else was good enough to hang with her......until Lzzy came along.
This is why I fell in love with LZZY! nos·tal·gia [näˈstaljə, nəˈstaljə] NOUN a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations. "I was overcome with acute nostalgia for my days in college" synonyms: wistfulness · longing/yearning/pining for the past · regret · regretfulness · reminiscence · remembrance · recollection · homesickness · [more] something done or presented in order to evoke feelings of nostalgia. "an evening of TV nostalgia"
i heard Ms. Benatar sing this on our beloved and missed Capitol Theatre stage, and Ms. Hale does a fun version here. The differences between the two women is what good music is all about; you can either take a song and copy it, or you can add your own heart to it, as Lzzy does here. Thanks!!
Capital Theatre in New Jersey? Don't think I ever went there. I was just a bit too young when the metal heydays were at their heights. Remember Studio One in Newark? That's all depending of course on whether or not we are speaking of the same venue...
yes, the Capitol was in beautiful downtown Passaic, NJ. Now the location is a tire store. Only time will tell which is more relevant to the history of NJ, but my vote goes to the decades of music and fun (sometimes including smoking controlled substances) at the old Capitol. It was more than just a job, it was an adventure!
jenraider72 Nope not filmed there I had someone try to steal the rights to my video recently! I’m friends with Lzzy and was asked to film this then some had the nerve to say it was their video! Lol
I saw PB in VaBeach at Peabody's, her FIRST up-close concert in her earliest years,.., BUT HONESTLY, I LOVE LZZY's raspiness- just make this song over the top! LOVE IT! (and live too!)
