Two A personalities, and both more talented than their male counterparts! Both originally suppressed by the guys, and both found their way. I think Tina Turner and Cher had a lot in common!
I know your comment is 8 years old, but I wanna say, I agree! I wish they'd done so much more together. Wish their guys had kicked rocks sooner; "Tina & Cher" make such a better combination!
I don’t know what you mean by having something in common but one thing they don’t have in common is talent. Tina turner is full of talent but Cher... sorry. Not so.
They have great chemistry. You can tell they were having fun. CHER was such a wholesome, natural talent for the different variety shows, specials etc..... that she worked on before turning her attention to film. CHER has made an impact on every aspect of show business.
two extraordinary women with much in common. both were married to visionary/gifted talented men and their relationships had their issues..both what stories these women have and can still tell........
WOW!!! that's the first thing i thought even before they started to sing! they are more than amazing. love their outfits, love their voices, love their talent, love their friendship together, and LOVE their performance. they are so entertaining! i am so honoured to witness talented women like this who are both strong and successful and can appreciate eachother!
@iluvtina Yes, after sonny & cher broke up they both had their own show, the sonny comedy revue (It was cancelled pretty quick after it started, nobody watched it) and the Cher show wich was very populair. Than later Cher found out that it was to stressfull to carry the show on her own and she asked sonny if he would come back. He did and then they had a show together again :)
These ladies had the look, style and talent that took them to the top of success..... It's no wonder why more than 30 years old they are still admired and adored by fans all over the world...... They knew how to work it and we the audience lapped it all up!!!!!! ALL HAIL THE QUEENS!!!! :)
Thankfully I've never tried any and have never had a desire to do so, which I suppose which is why I still look young enough to be carded for a bottle of Chardonay... on one hand I guess it should be viewed as a compliment, but it certainly makes organizing dinner parties a pain in the neck, lol.
Two legendary rocking Diva's who are red hot together...looking great and sounding so soulful, would never bother to compare these incomparable legends who are both timeless & the real deal...Bravo Cher & Tina!!!
Beyonce is not an original. Her format has been done before, yeah she can sing, but if she doesn't get new material soon, she's going to fade out like the rest of the garbage artist that are out here now. Music needs to go back to being like this again!! If Beyonce next project is like I AM...Sasha Fierce, she's done.....it's still the same crap recycled and done over to a different beat.
I just wonder how the songs in this medley were chosen, as most of them (at least today) seem to have been quite obscure. Music Makin' by The Osmonds (from their 1975 album "Around The World - Live In Concert", written by Barnum, Massey, Johnson, Woodard) -- /watch?v=PJRD55tpxY8&t=0m49s 'Shake Your Tambourine' by Bobby Marchan (though, perhaps influenced by this Osmonds cover) -- /watch?v=cvXub945K34&t=1m26s 'I've Got the Music in Me' by the Kiki Dee Band -- /watch?v=fAFNazI9LHQ 'Mr Melody' by Natalie Cole -- /watch?v=bb2DIsiLAGY
Please bring back real TV with actual talent and not just a bunch of nobody's running around with a digital camera calling it reality TV....it sucks!!!
statements like that seem kind of stupid and racist. good music is good music and does it matter if the person is white or black? most open minded people dont seem to think so but meh...i guess anyone can be needlessly racist. any, I love Cher AND Tina and they have regarded each other as friends for many years now.
@sirduketee I think Cher is 64 but looks 70ish due to all the plastic surgeries and lip inflating. I've never understood the Lip pumping deal. I've never thought Angelina Jolie was attractive & the older she gets the more she look like a TMNF (Teenage Mutant Ninja Frog)
The melanin in her skin should have allowed her enough elasticity to not wrinkle nor need surgery. As a black woman I can personally attest to the joys of melanin, I'm nearly 40, but always carded for alcohol (aarrrg!). On one hand it's neat because we don't wrinkle very much unless we go out of our way to be unhealthy or abuse ourselves with toxins, but on the converse side it is really annoying to always be singled out if you want to buy wine or enter a club. I do love both singers though.
I think they could have had a hit single together.... but, not quite sure an entire album. They were close friends and went their own way with their careers. It amazes me to discover all the duets Tina has done.... especially love the one she did with Paul McCartney the "Get Back" song. Tina stole the show on that mini concert, and I bet I've watched that video 50 times. Also, her hit song with Bryan Adams.....that song is phenomenal.
