Synopsis: On April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, Soviet Union suffered a massive explosion that released radioactive material across Belarus, Russia and Ukraine and as far as Scandinavia and western Europe. Chernobyl dramatizes the story of the 1986 accident, one of the worst man-made catastrophes in history, and the sacrifices made to save Europe from the unimaginable disaster.

It all looks and sounds a bit crap really. Everyone talking in an english language is a major turnoff and causes a disconnect. I even heard what may have been an irish accent too...l mean, come on! Lots of nice upper class twit ones too. We know already that there was a cover up, do we really need to see this revisionist outing? Especially when it doesn't look or sound authentic enough... The actors and actresses are familiar names and faces too. We need believable actors and actresses and that means using unfamiliar ones, not household names who are popping up in every drama here and there.

@menckencynic l have watched an episode! And stop being a snowflake and calm down. I don't care who wrote it as long as the finished article is a good one, which this is not. In the end of the day the book is always better than a televised or filmed version. All TV and film is dumbed down and economic in certain aspects, especially that which comes from america. You need to have a word with yourself, you are uselessly constructive in a very childish way... You assume too much, and when someone does that, they are highly probable of being wrong. ...and then to base your anger and tiny little, broken soul on your assumptions is absolutely nuts! Also, your seeming anger lets you down considerably, to the point of totally being ignored!
