That Dai-Ichi switch looks super interesting, never heard of it. Does it use a click leaf? That doesn't feel like the type of sound that would come out of a click jacket or click bar. I feel a fully decked board with those might sound pretty good. Also, how does it feel? If it truly is a click leaf, I'm expecting something super tactile like with the latest click leaf based switches, but you never know I guess. And how does it feel compared to Alps?
The Dai Ichis are indeed click leaf switches. They have weird short stiff springs that hurt them but with a spring swap they get pretty good. I need to do up a board with them at some point. The intensity of the leaf is honestly pretty low, they are more like blue alps than ambers. They are no holy grail switch but they are pretty neat.
Maybe they could be the holy grail of mx clickies then. Zeal Clickiez have that super strong leaf that makes them rather unsuitable for use for most people, so it sounds like these might be the best current mx clicky design (until Zeal decides to make their leafs closer to blue alps)
@@patr1ck28 ya, I thought so too. Having them in hand I really don't think that they are though. The housings aren't impressive, the leaves aren't very consistent, etc. They just aren't very high quality. I think gateron melodics and TKC blackberries are the two current front runners for the crown of best MX clicky. I know switchoddities has samples of at least the dai ichis if you want to check them out for yourself. Maybe you will like them more than me. Be sure to get a few though so you get a mix of bronze leaf and steel leaf ones.
