We made a promise to each other that if we're single by the time we're 30, we would get married to each other. Ultimately, I actually thought it was going to happen. I was 21 when this song came out but I had no idea it existed until a few months ago (I’m 30 now) so it simultaneously feels like a fresh new song to me while also bringing me right back to this era of my life. Very strange but beautiful feeling.

Sometimes lightning strikes gold and honestly this is one of the most beautiful songs ever made. The polymerization of sad and lonely lyrics with the upbeat melody and rhythm is like yin and yang. The melody makes me sad every time but I really appreciate how relatable it is so I keep coming back.

He did have some alcohol and drug problems, he ended up overdosing last april and it was the worst day of my moms life and i never want to see her like that again. But he was such an angel, he treated me like his own, he treated me like i mattered so much to him, he was overall one of the best people i’ve ever met in my whole life. I miss you jeremy, and so does my mom, more than you’ll ever know and if i had at least one more chance to talk to you after that easter dinner i would have said “don’t do it, but if you still chose to. we love you.” Rest in peace jeremy.
