Beaut of a car buddy, loving mine. BUT this is the first time ever driving an auto gearbox and a cvt. I have had mine since December 2022 and am still battling to learn how to drive a cvt. I'm told you must lift off the throttle ? There are times when I seem to get it right and the car is like a rocket. And there are times when I feel like I'm driving an elastic band. Do you have any tips for us ? Keep up the awesome informative vids!!!
Hi. Same here, also first time owning and driving a CVT. The main advice I can give you is, you press the pedal gently not stomp on it. It gets some use to doing especially if you have the Turbo. It just rockets. That's one of the reasons I drive in the ECO mode, I find the SPORTS mode tricky to drive in in traffic as it just wants to run away. With a CVT you just need to press the pedal and keep the revs around 2000rpm and it's more manageable and you'll get good fuel consumption.
I've now gotten more use to driving the car and the CVT that I only drive in SPORTS MODE as you would have seen on some vids and FB msgs. And I get much better consumption now in SPORTS MODE than I ever did in ECO MODE.
Hi we got our new Tiggo pro 4 in 2021. About 6months ago we’ve been getting gearbox failure notifications. The dealership has tried their best stripped the gearbox partial rebuilt etc and today we got Christmas lights on the dashboard several different errors. But the car doesn’t store any errors so when we take it to the dealership they can’t see anything wrong. So my question is have you had this experience at all? And which is the best dealership in Gauteng that can resolve this problem.
Hi. I've done 80k km and not had any issues with my box. Maybe a sensor in the box is not regulating the oil properly? If the car drives perfectly but comes up with the lights, then it sounds like a sensor. I would suggest trying Midrand Chery just off New RD. Speak to Yogesh, he's the service manager. He'll try his best for them to try get you sorted out.
Hey !! You said the car should be in Neutral, then pull the park brake up, THEN put it in Park. You put in in Park first and then pulled the park brake up.....Naughty Naughty !!! I think it is a conscious effort to always try and remember to put it in neutral first...... I will most probably make this mistake several times as well.
Hi. If the screen is the blue/green that you see is ECO. The SPORTS mode is red. 1st. Is you car manual or auto ( cvt ) only the CVT has the manual button. 2nd. The button to change the driving modes is on the silver row of buttons below the media screen. It's the button closest to you and it has MODE written on it.
Can't you maybe actually drive and show us? Please. On a uphill road or so (when the roads are quiet) I'm in the process of buying this vehicle and this handbreak situation does freak me out. I guess I just want to know and see if by any chance the car rolls back at all.
I can honestly tell you that with the CVT model, the car does not roll back even a millimeter. I've been on seriously steep hills with the car fully loaded, the CVT holds the car for a time long enough for you to change your foot to the petrol and pull away. The e-brake only activates automatically when you switch the car off. I'll be doing a manual version soon. So I'll test that one soon. You looking at CVT or Manual?
Hi. Maybe check my vid on the Media. It'll show you how to watch videos using USB and the settings you need to change so it won't stop the video while you drive.
The auto braking is on the T7 and the T8 models and the MY ADAS T4. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZWv4NoE3TUE.htmlsi=SNj2qlc_C56-HTQ5
