Update: 3/23/24 -- I have repeatedly asked the Town of Oxford to show where Cheryl Lewis's income is located regarding the budget? So far -- Nothing. Zero. Zip. I honestly have no clue why this is such a tall task. I'm totally baffled . I was hoping to take this link down today and start focusing on the next story. But, I guess until someone from the Town illustrates to me and the other 610 residents how to find income inside the budget -- this link will stay up. And, it should stay up.
This story isn't really about any single person. It's completely about transparency. People are starting to tell me I'm on this side or that side. Attention everyone -- I don't have a side. I'm just a taxpayer in Oxford that would like to know where I can find the full income of our current Town Manager. Every other town I've contacted -- my questions have been answered in minutes. I think the slowest town came in at 58 minutes.

3/22/24 -- Story Update: I just sent the three Commissioners and the Town Manager of Oxford this letter (see below.) Asking any of them to show me the lines in the budget where I can find Cheryl Lewis's full income. I currently have no clue on how much she'll make in total 2024. And, I don't know anyone who does. So, she could be the highest paid Town Manager is the State of Maryland or just in the top 1%. I simply don't know.
Some residents have speculated that she gets paid from various departments. It's a mystery. Some believe she makes fees from writing grants. I have no idea. The Town Commissioners, the same people who approve the budget, should easily be able to point to the Town Manager's full income -- every line. Below is my letter to them.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to respond. My email address is Scott.Rensberger@gmail.com

3/22/24 Update:
Dear Commissioners and Town Manager,
I’m asking anyone of you to come forward and show me the line or lines where I can find Cheryl Lewis’s full income for working in the Town of Oxford for the year 2024? I’ve reached out to several other towns in Maryland and in many cases, if not all, each town Administrator, Manager or Mayor has responded to me within minutes with their income. It was that easy. I’m happy to show you my emails regarding this research.
The bottom line is - I have no idea how much our Town Manager will make in 2024. If anyone of the Commissioners are 100% confident they know exactly the precise lines in the town budget, the same budget that’s approved by the Commissioners, that illustrates every dollar Cheryl Lewis will make by working in Oxford -- I’d be more than happy to take down my little video. I’d love nothing more. Please come forward and show me the lines in the budget where the residents of Oxford can learn this valuable information.
Another way -- if just two of the three Commissioners agree to a forensic audit. Who in the world could be against a forensic audit? It would heal our town. I believe If Oxford can afford to buy the MEWS, Post Office, Bank and pay our Town Manager well over 100-thousand dollars more than the average Town Manager in the United States - we can easily afford a forensic audit. If not, there are several residents welling to pitch in.
I’m currently not asking the Commissioners to explain the release of Chief Maxwell and Scott Delude, the hiring of relatives and friends , and why the Town Manager and Commissioners wouldn’t share a Master Stormwater Plan with me even though I live in the lowest part of town and could use the information to protect my family from flooding. We can deal with those issues later.
Thank you for your time.
