I think that is more of a rowing wherry. WHen you say NE dory - to me, you are talking about a dory with higher sides and more final stability ...less of a canoe-like shape. or I guess more of a Swampscott style.
The Northeaster Dory is pretty much right out of John Gardner's "Dory Book." The lines are similar to the "Round-Sided Dory" and "Nahant Dory" found there. In terms of length, beam, and freeboard, the Northeaster Dory is completely traditional, but it's quite a lot lighter, and the clean stitch-and-glue interior makes it VISUALLY lighter.
