Lots of questions you’ve kinda already answered yourself! Chesil is a multitude of different venues, all in a line and they all fish differently depending on tide/wind/water conditions and time of year. Following catch reports are often a waste of time because A: 5 anglers may put good reports up but most fail to realise that 300 anglers fished it over a 15 mile long stretch and B often by the time catch reports come through the window of fishing at that particular mark is over and it’s a few days again before the timings come right for another good sesh. Keep at it mate, it’s a fantastic beach that offers variety and exciting fishing. Fish it when you can as often as you can, make notes and look back at sessions and how they went with tides and weather etc. non of us will ever have all the answers, we never ever stop learning!! Over the years I’ve fished it tho il tell ya this much, main part of the ebb on most of chesils marks is time for a kip 😉 tight lines mate and keep at it 🎣👍🏻

Completely agree about catch reports, there are very few youtube anglers that show blanks, its always the same ones that post videos with good catches, when they have probably had loads of blank sessions, well done on the Cod, nice fish.

Chesil is a hard fish, never had a good session on it all the years I lived there. You done well with the cod, I would have been chuffed
