Cheslin Kolbe & Faf De Klerk - The Giant Slayers | 2020 

Lifelong American Football fan here, and I have to say Rugby is so fun to watch even though I have no idea what in the hell is going on. I've been watching videos for maybe 2 hours. HAH. Also - Both these guys are beasts. Being built the same as them, I love watching Faf highlights, and Cheslin runs EXACTLY like an American Football running back. He's like a prototypical slashing halfback. Great vision, VERY sharp cuts, extremely quick change of direction, superb acceleration, low hip and shoulder level (which I've noticed many Rugby players struggle with; it's critical to America football and drilled into our heads at an early age). He uses that mobility to insanely great effect! It's like the defenders are standing still. Great talent! And Faf, damn the guy is just a machine. He sees the opposing players - no matter the size - as just an obstacle to outsmart or in some cases run through. He appears an extremely intelligent and savvy player with an innate grasp of the game the other players just don't possess. His physical skills are also fantastic. While he's not as flashy as Cheslin, I'd call him "slippery". He does just enough to slip by defenders. And his tackling is a damn thing of beauty. He knows EXACTLY where to be in almost every situation! In American Football, we say players like that "have a nose for the football", meaning they're always in the thick of the action. Faf is definitely that guy. He's ridiculously impressive, even to someone who has no idea what's going on, LOL. I wish our football players would tackle like these guys. We are taught this exact form of tackling at an early age, but by high school, most players opt for the fancy shoulder tackles; launching your body/shoulder into the opposing players thighs to knock his legs out from under him. It can be effective, but can fail spectacularly if the tackler gets hurdled or juked. Rugby talking is a much higher percentage tackle in my opinion. Regarding the mobility, I always think to myself watching Rugby - Damn, if that guy would have cut the other way, or juked that direction, he'd have "scored" (can't remember the actual name for it). It's commonplace in American Football, and seeing how it can be used to dominate a Rugby pitch ("pitch"... did I get that right?) is interesting. Good stuff, I'm glad the RU-vid algorithm picked something good for once! Both sports have so much to learn from one another. I wish there was more crossover... or maybe there is and I'm just not aware. Anyway, have a good day!

Kolbe could sidestep you in a telephone kiosk. Even when you know that he will cut inside you cannot mark him - you need two players to mark him, one to cover him and one to cover his step inside. Farrell is a great defender, but Kolbe made him look like an amateur at the RWC. An even better and more recent example was Kolbe versus Ulster in the 1/4 final of the European Rugby Champions Cup; Jacob Stockdale the Ireland winger knew that Kolbe would try and step inside, Ulster had planned for it and how to stop him - but, knowing what somebody will probably do and stopping it are two different things. He has stepped some of the greatest international players on the planet. As for Faf - he is simply the best when he is firing on all cylinders; he is like the Tasmanian Devil off Loony Tunes!!!

They are not giant slayers they are only lions trapped in a hamsters body, it only shows you if you have heart what you can achieve, they not players of the week,month or year their names will become names among legends, a honor every rugby player live to die for and for his country, but in this video these guys play even harder overseas and that means only one thing DEDICATION!!!!!
